Ben-To is an anime that combines action, comedy, and an unconventional approach to the competition for bento (packed meals) in a supermarket. The series follows Sato, a high school student who discovers a hidden world where students fight each other for discounted bentos at the end of the day.

Highlights:

Effective Comedy: The humor feels fresh and well-integrated into the narrative. The series' focus on the battles for bentos is entertaining, and the confrontations between characters, especially between Shiraume and Satou, add a fun touch without falling into cringe. However, I personally despise the twin sisters, as their antics can be quite annoying at ... times.

Charismatic Characters: The series features a diverse and well-developed cast, where each character has their own personality and motivations, making their interactions enjoyable and memorable.

Unique Style: The blend of action elements with everyday situations and the peculiarity of the bento theme gives it a distinctive air. The fight sequences are dynamic and well-animated, keeping the viewer engaged.

Original Narrative: Ben-To avoids being an anime to take too seriously, allowing for enjoyment of the story without expectations of emotional depth. The plot, though simple, is fun and has unexpected twists.

Despite its weak ending, it’s an excellent anime that I would 100% recommend.

This type of anime is like an emotional roller coaster; it plays with the audience by being unpredictable. This anime can appeal to fans of racing and action on wheels. I particularly want to praise the original dubbing, which I consider one of the standout aspects of the series. The animation is also worth mentioning; P.A. Works did an exceptional job. Furthermore, the villain is one of the strong points of this anime and can leave the viewer speechless. Interestingly, his voice reminds me of the voice actor for Cell from Dragon Ball Z. In short, if you enjoy racing anime, you will definitely like ... this one.
