Hetalia and Danshi are both very very comical. Hetalia is historical and a whole parody of countries, while instead Danshi is slice of life and a strong parody of "normal" high schoolers They are both short series (Hetalia has around 50 episodes of ONAs who don't last more than 5 mins, and Danshi is a short tv-serie who counts barely 12 eps of 20 mins each) so you don't need to spend a lot of time to complete either of them. If you are searching for a smile or you simply like to laugh then both series are very highly recommended ;3

Sword Art Online
add

While .Hack//Sign was an anime released back then in 2002, Sword Art Online is quite newer. Released after around 10 years from the first it obviously shows "new way to imagine how technology could be, new stuff in the game" and so on.. However, regardless the year they have been producted, both series are still very similar: - both start off in this special "super new virtual" MMORPG, where the technology is the highest than ever. - both, obviously show all the characters in this game - Trapped in the game: on HS there's the main chara who can't log off and in SAO instead everyone can't log off due the game master's insane idea to doom everyone inside the game until someone reaches the top level of the tower. - of course there are also: special powers, battles against monsters, quests.. and everything else that a game normally has. And many other things. Just keep watching and you'll see! If you like the idea of an "inside a video-game" story both of them are recommended!

So, we have Ano Hana and NR who are both drama genre and have a very strong supernatural element in the story. Still, both serie evolve around a person who is the only able to see a ghost who is unable to move on. Both stories have deep love feelings and struggle around the possibility of "what if": what if i did/did not that thing? what if i could un-do something? what if this person was still alive? Ano Hana is a great serie and NR evolved more and more interesting too. Obviously, if you watched & liked one of them, the another is highly recommended too!

Chouyaku Hyakuninisshu: Uta Koi.
add

Chihayafuru is an amazing sports anime, with a very sweet tone of friendship and love, based on a not too known game: Karuta. On the other side, Uta Koi is an historical anime exactly about telling the love stories behind the poems who actually compose the Karuta game. The love stories happened to the poets who gave them the inspiration and experience to make beautiful poems. Both series are josei genre and share some sort of romantic feeling as well. Personally i've started Uta Koi after i watched Chihayafuru, right because i wanted to understand deeper the poems of the Karuta game; and i have to say that it's very interesting. Uta Koi's artstyle is particular but at the same time can be great, Chihayafuru's art is gorgeous and both series have a very awesome cast. I certainly recommend to watch both :D

Bokura no

Bokurano is very similar to Evangelion: - they both have mechas, piloted by teenagers who are, little by little, shown to make extreme actions and decisions - the protagonists are forced to fight those "sort of unknown" enemies in order to protect/save the Earth, and all of them will pass through a very hard path Among all this, there's this very strong dark atmosphere over all the serie that will slowly bring both stories towards important and psychological ends similar to eachother. If you liked one of them, I highly recommend you to watch the another as well, as you might probably like them both.

Well it's simple to see what they have in common: • the art style is similar? of course, the artist is the same • both tv series come from an otome game, with reverse harem genre • as being reverse harem they both show the usual pattern of a group of boys having somewhat to protect the female protagonist • still, both series share a strong supernatural factor who doesn't pass on background throught all the story If you liked one of those you might want to give a try to the another as well! Have fun watching~

They both have: • a terroristic group who plays the part of the "good guys" actually • Earth's big leaders (Emperor/Politicians) are both instead the antagonists • wonderfully planned war strategies • mechas, sci-fi • famous and very good skilled cast of seiyuus • both series have the same lasting of 25 episodes, with a second season having the same amount once again • and much more, that u'll find out while watching! Without mentioning that both series share an amazing art, epic musics and very well planned story. If you liked one of those i highly recommend you to watch the another serie as well! They really worth it! ♥

add

Indeed similar, while watching Mirai Nikki it brought me back the feeling i had when i used to watch Higashi no Eden. Both series are action and mystery genres, as well both share an important point of the main line in the plot: a teenager (Akira for Higashi and Yukiteru for Mirai) received a "special phone" and has to somewhat change the world with it. Akira has 10 billions of yen which he has to use to change Japan for good, as well Yukiteru has the diary of future which he needs to use in order to survive and become the new god of space and time. Still, both characters, are introduced to play this "game" and have to pay attention to the other contestants who, of course, will try anything in their power to trouble them, or else worse, kill them; because everyone wants obviously win the game. The strong action of both series will keep you very interested as to know what will come next, by each episode you'll watch. If you liked one of those, it's highly probable that you will enjoy the other as well!

Well both are nostalgic anime from childhood, and both are still "old school" (before years 2000) Both are "Majokko" types: having a female heroine which uses her magical power to transform into an adult version of, possibly, herself. Besides the fact that the transformed adult versions of both main characters (Lala and Emi) are quite similar even by look, both are singers, quite famous ones, and very much appreciated with lots of fans. Yet they share all the same genres: Comedy, Magic, Shoujo. I think that if you like the Majokko genre, you should give a try to both of them, as they both worth it :3

So what to say? At first i wouldn't have thought that those two series have something in common.. at least not this much. But, the more i went ahead and watched Guilty Crown, and the more i felt somehow of a bond between this and TTGL. • Well, as i said, besides both of them share sci-fi and (lots of) action genres, doesn't seem they have anything else.. but~ • The more you get to know GC's characters, and the more you become to notice how their relations is similar to TTGL's ones. Let's analyze better: they both have a pretty badass leader (Gai / Kamina) who encourages people (Undertaker / Dai-Gurren Team) to take their rebellion against the "dictators". Then, the more you watch both series and the more you see that the main character (Shu / Simon) are somehow "weak" but through the adventures get stronger and they both aim to become similar to their best friend or idol (Gai / Kamina). Still the main female character is strong at fighting and a constant role in the rebellion (Inori / Yoko), despite of course when talking by personality, Yoko surely has way more than Inori. That's it pretty much. TTGL might look having a "happier" atmosphere, for most of time, than GC but believe me, they both worth watching. TTGL is epic, as well GC so far is going great. I'm sure that if you liked one of them, you might probably like the another as well if you give it a try! Recommended both ♥

A note to mention is also the good cast of seiyuus and very good art which both series have. Additionally, Last Exile has a quite nice ost. As a difference instead, Eureka has a more futuristic technology while Last Exile shows an "oldish" technology on the style of 19th centuary. Kare Kano and Kimi ni Todoke are both romantic stories with situations delicately psycho-analized by the main characters. Even if the two main females are very differents by personality, the girl will little by little face the importance and experience of her own precious first love in both series. The love of the girl, as the love of the boy, are told and shown throughout both series in a real unique way. Still, the main male and female character will be surrounded by awesome friends which will help them and will be affected by their situations. There are many anime which face love stories out there, but noone of them is similar to Kare Kano or Kimi ni Todoke as much as those two are with eachother. For this reason i strongly feel to associate KNT to KareKano and viceversa. Indeed, if you already liked one of those, you can't miss to watch the other! You'll definitely appreciate them both. Personally, i think that "unique" is a perfect adjective to describe them both. Their stories are really told and shown in a special unique way which authomatically creates a very charming atmosphere.

Well, Skip Beat's atmosphere is very energetic, while on the other side Kobato's atmosphere is very sweet. When i watched Shiki i felt from the very start the same atmosphere that Higurashi was used to give me. The more the story was going on, and the more that feeling was becoming stronger. Yep, both series really have many similitudes: - in both stories everything starts in those little and "calm" villages - both series' main subjects are the weird deaths (murders) that will shock the villagers - both anime have quite a well-made mystery atmosphere; whenever someone finds something, another thing will happen and you wont have to finish to realize all hints yet, until the end. The mystery affects both pubblic and characters, which i think is another good thing that both have in common - still, both stories have supernatural factors leading the events - and, even one of the main female characters are similar in both series (Sunako and Rika), be it in look and personality So, to conclude: personally i advice to see both, since both are very well made. If you liked the mystery in one of the series you'll surely like the other too! ps: as personal opinion i especially liked Shiki's art style, since is quite particular and different from any other anime.

So, for all listed reasons i see a strong connection and similarity between DTB and Phantom, due to this i can't avoid to advice to watch one if you already liked the other :3 Enjoy~

Let's start: - similar artstyle: true it can be seen, and a simple motivation is that Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail's author) and Eiichiro Oda (One Piece's author) are of the same generation who grown up admiring Akira Toriyama (Dragonball's author). Rumors are that their styles were so forged by their worshipping Toriyama; this of cours makes works of both of them share a similar, very cool art style and character design. - special powers: in a Jump's shonen manga those can't miss. Characters with awesome strong incredible powers are everywhere in both series. In One Piece we have devil fruits which give to their users incredible abilities, while in Fairy Tail we have mages which obviously do use their own magic spells/abilities. - action: another big part and genre that both series do share. - purposes: friendship is the main theme which makes an important bond between the main characters in both seasons. - heroic scenes: One Piece and Fairy Tail do share quite a lot of very awesome heroic scenes. - female characters: both authors wanted to give to their characters some strong power and/or personalities, differently from many other shonen series where the main female is just needed there to be saved and/or making comical scenes. Those, and many other, are the shared things by both series, but the above listed are surely the biggest points which deserved to be mentioned. So, indeed if you liked One Piece you could give a try to Fairy Tail, or viceversa. Although, while manga series have both a very good art style, when it comes to anime One Piece's animation quality is cured more.

Sengoku Basara
add

Similar but Different ♥ A perfect combination to describe them differing from any other samurai story. - Both series evolve around an awesome and epic samurai period. - Of course, battles with swords wont miss in either of them. - Main characters have the same badass side in both series, obviously. - Now, it may be not be important for someone but i think is another good point to mention: the main characters (Mugen and Masamune) have been both played by the same voice actor (Nakai Kazuya) which makes high up the level of their charism even more. Okay, all the above stuff maybe can be found in little doses also in some few other anime samurai themed but, here the part where Sengoku Basara and Samurai Champloo will surely differ by any other serie: - They both have "something" that is definitely not common for their epoch or else not common at all. Samurai Champloo is litterally hip-hop themed (from the opening, to some dress or some scenes) and even features modern other stuff (like the baseball or graffiti episodes) -- while Sengoku Basara is definitely over the limit of the reality, fight scenes in there are not the "typical-anime-fight-scenes" at all, plus it also features pretty modern stuff like can be "Gundam"-robots like. So, even if the main plots are different (we have a girl that needs to find a person and due to this starts to travel with two samurais in Samurai Champloo // and on the other side we have Sengoku era with obvious big and incredible battles in Sengoku Basara), for all the above said things they do share a lot of similar stuff and style, so i do advice do watch both :3
