The premise was pretty good but butchered by the devs. It was big disappointment.

It is the first Obsidian game that not only didn't like but also hated. I don't even think of buying PoE2 until i finish it and decide that it is worth my money. And i have bought all the Obsidian games on full price to support the studio. The game is unfinished,the battle/progression system is idiotic,there is cut content for a dlc,story is retarded and unfinished and the writing is terrible. It have some sjw shit in it but not that annoying,unless you are jaded asshole like me that is tired of all this shit. Would not recommend buying it. Go buy Expedition:Vikings or Spellforce 3 instead. Solid indi games that are well worth the money. To be honest with you both games had very buggy release but by now are in really good state. Would recommend trying them out. Also ELEX is goty for me,if you are Piranha Bytes go get it ;) .

The pay-off of watching the series and then watching Kizu is so much better than watching Kizu first, you get to appreciate the animation and Shinobu is made to be a character shrouded in mystery in Bakemonogatari, but you'll know everything about her by watching her back-story ruining the immersion they originally went for.

And the reveals mean jack shit when you don't even know the characters well enough.

But it isn't the first part of the series.
Seeing as it came out 8 years after AND the novel came out after Bakemonogatari. It was made in a format for you to watch it when it came out not which order it is in the season's. A lot of events in Monogatari happen across seasons not just in one: for example there's an arc in Second Season which doesn't receive it's conclusion till 3 seasons later at the end of Owari.

You are just butchering the experience by watching it in the un-intended order from what the creators intentionally made it to be watched in, just to fit your belief that "everything has to be watched in order" as everything is explained for you to understand it in the way it has been originally made. It's not just "fan-service." Not all prequels are made to be watched before the main series. As Kizumonogatari gives an explanation into a specific factor of the Monogatari Series and not being made to get you to watch the rest.

It's funny because you will overall dislike the series by not being able to understand the series in the intentional format. I presume your watching Nekomonogatari next well have fun disliking the series in your preferred format

Because Kizu was made 8 years after Bakdmonogatari. So Bake is the introduction to the characters and world. Choosing Kizu as the first entry is stupid because it serves as just a display of what happened before the events of Bake.

Kizu doesn't try to introduce you to everything because it wasn't intended for you to watch it before Bakemonogatari
