TL;DR Jaw dropping visuals but meh everything else make this a 7.5


Full spoiler free review:

Story: 6.5

Complicated, original setup, but so far feels like just another drama: hints of humor and a mix of forced emotions with the occasional legit "feels" moment. Also, there is no clear direction or goal the story is going to. Another smaller problem is that although the episodes have good pacing overall, there is a bit too much narration/repetition. Overall, the story is OKAY. Keep your expectations low.

Absolutely amazing. Visuals with fluidity that can rival movies further refined by gorgeous color grading and work in post. If you're feeling iffy about the story/characters, at least check this anime out for the eye candy.

Character: 7

The art almost saves the characters by brute force and damn good visual character design. Unfortunately, similar to the story, characters have a complicated background (so they have a lot of potential), but behave in repetitive, predictable ways.

Sound: 8

Above average. The OP was good but I especially thought the abundant use of strings were nice to listen to and is mostly used appropriately.


Enjoyment: 9.5

Honestly, if it weren't for the visuals, I'd probably rate my enjoyment an 7. Nonetheless, I'm a huge sucker for cinematic experiences.

Overall: 7.5

A beautiful anime but underwhelming in the plot and character design. I imagine veterans here will have a much more negative review compared to mine.
