Hey man, what's good! It definitely has been a while, but before I drop a bomb of updates on you, I just wanna say that I've been emotionally recovering from the end of a 3-year relationship. It's been hard, but I guess if there's any upside to 2020 it's been that I've finally been able to find a stable job and I've been getting back into the car scene full swing. But yeah, I might hop into AniList. Gotta start watching anime again after so many years. What's your username there?

hi

HOLY SHIT.

I got bad at replying. And yeah! I actually grew fond of the series in Season 2, when I began to make sense of literally the entire show. I still stand by my 4 score on the first season, it just so happens that the second blew it right out of the water. AMAZING series that 2nd, really.

So the hopping around jobs and all, I was staffed several different times on different projects but I had to choose one, then I trained for another job, then worked with them for a bit before finding my current one. Travel perks? Check. Expenses paid for? Check. Only real things I gotta worry about anymore are expenses when I am home. That's about it!

My Porsche is a 1986 944 Turbo, so not exactly an expensive car (still pricey), and it does no favors that the car is expensive to maintain, has an astronomically rare factory paint color, and was kept in meticulous condition (presumably because of this particular configuration's unicorn status). This was a restoration project from the previous owner, but I'll be glad to show you photos of how it sits now. It's MINT. I tell you that much!

It's crazy! We spend so much time away, and my job literally pulls me away from her 5 days a week at the minimum but she's been nothing but loving and supportive. I really can't express how grateful I am to have her.

Haha for sure, not every day in our lives has to be exciting. Sometimes it's the calm and mellow bits that are worth living for too. I don't spend my entire life behind the wheel in the mountains, where my excitement lives. But sometimes it rains, so lying down and just having a moment with my girlfriend while it's peaceful is always a welcome moment.

LOL I'm trying to get back into it! I had it in me to watch Fullmetal Alchemist at my girlfriend's request but otherwise, extremely out of touch since last year! I think I've had a long enough hiatus, considering I don't know what else I'd be doing on the plane rides these days.

LOL bruuuuuh....

It's okay. But goddamn a lot happened in six months! Seriously!

Everything's well, been hopping around jobs (bad), bought a Porsche (mixed bag), deepened my relationship with my girlfriend (great!), and I guess that's about it for me. How's everything going on your end?

Something about Filipino dramas is if they don't resurface on the Internet, they will, eventually, reach the hands of those avid lookers. There were a couple shows I watched in my childhood that I got to enjoy (heh, sure) again, so really, you never know!

Haha we'll see about that. As you can see, 13 days late. I spent too much time with my girlfriend, LOL.

Nah, Mighty Car Mods is way better. They're average Joes who know nothing about cars (or so they claimed) but they serve as an inspiration for those of us who want to go out and have our own projects, because they did some crazy things with or without the skill level to do it.

They should probably be online, but I doubt they receive the same coverage as shows from other countries. It's alright, Filipino dramas are nothing to get shaken up over. Dolphy though, he is someone to talk about, but maybe you won't understand some of the things he will do because he was catering specifically to Filipinos (like me). What show is that? I gotta check that out too!

Of course of course. I think there are many good applications for being a helicopter pilot. She can fly for news channels or even cargo, but I'm sure her career paths are limitless. I'll keep you posted and tell you exactly what happens, LOL. I got her on Facebook.
iSheep May 27, 2017 4:46 PM
Haha it is a lot to spend, and sorry about the late reply. I've been busy in RL and literally haven't had a chance to approach a computer. But yeah, Pimp My Ride type shit right there. Except without all the chrome. Actually have you seen Mighty Car Mods? That's more like what I'm planning to have.

I gotta find you a link for that. My mom watches them off a TFC (Filipino TV network) box and that's the only way I've ever viewed it as well. For something like Filipino dramas though, I doubt there's a large following for tons of crying, yelling, and the gay comic relief. In terms of comedy though you're probably thinking of Dolphy, the Filipino comedy legend (deceased now). He has some pretty funny shit going around though, that's for sure.

That's what I wonder about too, seeing that VTOLs are a military exclusive. Unless, maybe she can diversify and learn exclusively helicopters or airplanes. If she does that then I guess her future in aviation is secure? Go commercial airline pilot or even fly for the uber rich (she might get paid bank for that too!). Either way, I wish her the best in that!

Project car, you know. For like $1k and fix it up. That's fun, always a challenge! Of course, I couldn't do that with certain cars when I let them go and I left them non-running, but the build is always a lot of fun. I live for thrills though, so I guess a night or two getting booked would be another adventure for me. LOL, I'm a bad kid.

I can't imagine anything more overdone than Filipino dramas, so be thankful that's all you can think of. You don't want to see our blend of bad acting. Ever. You will see our culture in a different light and I guarantee that you may never want to be my friend again after it. I know all the tropes, and can confirm that what you saw in that "Comedy" is nothing compared to what we find funny in the Philippines. It's just.....SHIT. Let's just keep it at that.

VTOL has a different set of controls though, especially since all they can do with the helicopter functions is adjust their position to accurately gauge where they land and take off from. The rest is airplane, so I'm not sure. Maybe she'd be taking on a special blend of cargo?

Oh shoot, okay. Play a new video game. Watch more anime. Buy a car, ride your bike, build a Lego playset! Those are all pretty good options IMO. Well, try to do the ones that aren't that expensive. I realize Legos cost a fortune.

I used to, LOL. I used to be a pretty bad kid, but I guess I slowed down and became a weeb, and I've pretty much lived quietly up until now and just being a law-abiding citizen. I guess it's not bad for a change but I feel like it's time for new thrills.

Nooooooo. Filipino drama is the overdone ugly stepsister to Korean dramas. Yeah. Cinderella is a Korean drama (which means I wouldn't date Cinderella since she's too shallow). There's tons of crying and a lack of good acting. Sometimes I wanna ask my mom, "bruh, what the hell." Then again she's Filipino, we're used to bad acting.

Oh yeah, that LOL. You need connections to get anywhere. Unfortunately that's true, which is why it helps to start connecting with others ASAP. Just another leg up to help you when you do look for a job. Maybe you should try leisure piloting first. Though, that might rack up quite quickly.

Yeah and my friend pilots those for the Navy, currently stationed in Japan! Though I wonder what you can be when you're done piloting a VTOL aircraft.

How about dis?

iSheep Apr 7, 2017 9:51 PM
Wow that sucks, LOL. I still haven't gotten to watching the shows my friends wanted me to watch too and you said you've exhausted all other means of entertainment. I actually wish I was in that position, there's just so much!

Well, let's call ourselves thrillseekers. I enjoy dangerous things like fast cars, guns, and even getting into trouble. To hunt or be hunted, anyways. Both ways is a thrill. I know I'm pretty unusual, but that's fine with me. Some people don't wanna get chased by the police or chase the baddies but when my blood starts to boil, all I can do is scream in excitement.

No no no not incest shoujo LOL. Shows that just keep up with a very vanilla and very upbeat theme. Yup, escape is all it is! Just taking a step back from the grim reality we're faced with today! That's why I hate Filipino dramas. All they do for 100 episodes is cry and yell at each other. What kind of escape is that.

Remember when cars were once expensive and transportation exclusively for the rich? I don't either. I just read about it haha.

100% true man! Hollywood likes to romanticize things, but you can't duplicate the travels of many gearheads and enthusiasts around the world to the automotive Mecca that is Japan, and the stories they come back to tell. Buying pre-modified cars is highly looked down upon because it shows a lack of individuality, very shameful. No, you wouldn't think of NZ as that kind of place, but it is. Ironic isn't it? I know for a fact though that the more lax the transportation laws are, the more interesting the cars become.

That sounds like the paradox of finding a job. "Must have XX years of experience to apply!" And another segment says "you need to hold a job to get experience." Like. Dafuq? Is this a troll? We favor hard work but how would you get there if the starting condition doesn't allow you to run? It makes no sense, but I guess every industry has that problem.

Yeah, most armed forces pilots stay in the armed forces. I think that's what my friend is doing now as a helicopter pilot (I think she pilots an Osprey for the Navy, I can't remember off-top). I highly doubt she'll try to leave because I think as it is, she's benefiting from staying in the system.

Thinking I forgot. Bruh I'm like The Grudge, I never forget. I come into your room at night through your TV and tell you a scary-ass bedtime story. I also never log in LOL.

Just programming, making programs for the company. I wanna move up though, go into IT consulting or program for a startup. I mean the financial stability and the security, plus the tasks are all very interesting and nice to have but I seek danger. That's just the way I was wired. It's pretty unbelievable because within the time that you didn't respond (LOL, low blow there) I was double-timing school while part-timing work (24 units of classes plus 30 hours of work). It was absolute hell, but I did what I did and my track record speaks for itself.

That's exactly why I like shoujo. Plus it's an escape from the typical dark world we live in. I love tuning out and just thinking everything is rainbows and butterflies for a bit. Well, they could be for me, just as long as I stay away from the dark places.

That's today. We don't necessarily need it to live, but billions are reliant on it because it's such a cheap, easy-to-obtain resource. Fossil fuels are in the process of being phased out for more sustainable fuel, that which I'm very excited for. But as far as I'm concerned, I can power my entire house with solar, my car can be powered with solar (if it comes to that, my car is still gas), it's just possible to do it but we haven't hit a point where we can even sustain what I propose. It's always a process. Just the uphill climb to relevance is what we need to fight.

Japan is CRAZY about cars! And no, you wouldn't think NZ has such a strong car culture but that's because we usually discount it from the rest of the world as a place for cars (since no cars are produced there). TBH I want something to do with the Australasia/Oceania region in the future, but only if I can hit that standard of living. I heard the views are nice and the weather is like California, I just worry about how much it would cost to relocate even. Really? That's super cool! It gets away from the "travel for free" BS I was trying to push. How does the process to become a pilot even go? I had a friend who was gonna do that but that's through armed forces. They lay that path out for you already so I'm sure they leave out a lot.
