Damn what a shame.
This manga had potential to be a really compelling and interesting isekai-ish story but unfortunately it was axed for one reason or another (i'd heard it was due to the mangakas poor health but idk).
The story was neat, it has more of a wholesome and laid back approach to the fantasy genre. It presented a fresh idea that doesn't group it together with the many copy paste, generic isekai power fantasies. The characters where cool and likeable and the romance side element between the mc and dark elf fmc was sweet and actually had progress.
The art was awesome, the character designs
...
especially where fresh and are quite aesthetically pleasing imo
It really is a shame that it was cut short at 16 chapters as I feel many of the characters could have used some more development or interactions. I would also have liked to see more of the wholesome romance aspect too ( for example a day off date or maybe chilling together after work etc).
Overall I really enjoyed what little there was of this manga and simply wish it could be continued.

Reading this has been nice. It was a wholesome and drama-less romcom. It's probably my favourite form of romcom out there as many stories have cliché tropes and drama to keep the story going longer which I'm sick of. The classic will they wont they between two characters who obviously love each other but are stopped by countless misunderstandings, love rivals, trauma/family issues etc etc; is seldom overdone and it can tend to be tiresome. My point is, this story is not that.
The fmc and mc are already dating and the story centres around them spending time together and understanding their feelings for one
...
another. The two protagonists are quite interesting, they aren't too cliché and have likeable personalities. The side characters are also likeable, often being quite funny in their interactions.
The art is also great, its nice to look at and the designs of the characters are unique and refreshing.
To be honest, while I'm glad the story doesn't drag on due to drama, I would liked for it to be at least 2 or 3 volumes longer as it seemed the ending, like many short romcoms was rushed. I feel the side characters could have had more development before the time skip as the two friends of the mc have budding relationships with the female teacher and female friend. Both dynamics are interesting and had potential. there where also various other plot points that could have been expanded such as seeing more of the fmcs family.
Overall I definitely recommend this for anyone who likes easy romcoms. It's short and sweet and will only take a few hours at the most.

Gotta say I'm really enjoying this manga. Its such a wholesome story that sooths me to the core. While it is a little sus in places as there's kind of a pseudo romance between the Disciple kid and adult knight, it's really even something that bothers me as it's essentially overwhelmed by the adorable relationship they have.
The art is superb, really driving home that cute factor. The character designs are great, in particular the Knightess. I'm always a sucker for characters with full plate armour and hers is very unique and cool. She is also incredibly attractive; peak mommy material, a badass waifu through
...
and through.
overall I'm loving this so far and recommend it to anyone seeking healing

This was a manga that was fun, cute and wholesome with nice artwork and character designs. However aside from these surface level things it just stayed simple and underdeveloped. The art keeps you interested and the wholesome story is a nice read but it ends very abruptly with a very unsatisfying finish.
Just as the fmc and mc are getting somewhere it just stops. The fmc disappears without the two getting together or conveying feelings, she then re-appears after a time skip as the two have presumably moved from middle to high school, but they don't even reunite or get a confession it just ends
...
lol. I'm most sad that we didn't get to see more of the delinquent senpai character as she was probably the more charming of the three main characters, her story also just ends with no final interaction or anything.
I feel this manga had some potential as I really enjoyed reading what we had but unfortunately thats all we got, I think if this manga had at least one or two more volumes it'd have more development and possibly a more satisfying end.
Overall great artwork that was cute with a nice and easy, wholesome story that needed more to be great.

Damn, that was something else.
This is a very charming, wholesome and bitter sweet story about a young author and his first love ghost maid.
To be honest I wish there was more to this, 26 chapters seems short. I would have liked at least another volumes worth as the ending felt a little rushed but I do still whole-heartedly recommend this.
It's kind of a romance as there are elements of that but for the most part it's more of a story about moving on, be that from grief, past regrets, certain emotions etc. That's where the bittersweet elements come in as by the end most of
...
these things have been achieved which is a tad depressing lol.
Anyway if that hasn't sold you, I'd say its at least worth reading for the charming characters. I found myself liking all the characters in different ways, while not too ground-breaking, they where at least worth caring about.
Gotta say though, out of everything, the art is amazing. A style I found really liking as it was aesthetically pleasing idk
Anyway overall I'd definitely recommend this one

This 12 episode series, while seeming like a generic sci-fi fantasy, shounen story that is typically chucked in with many other generic anime of each season, this anime actually surprised me quite a bit. I ended up really enjoying it for a few reasons.
Story 8: The story is your typical sci-fi fantasy action, with a huge war going on between highly advanced human military serving the empire, and the Witches gifted with magical ability serving their own sovereignty. The MC (badass soldier) and FMC (badass witch) cross paths on the battle field and discover that they have the same goal of ending the senseless war.
...
While the story is kind of generic, it definitely makes up for it with its unique take on the Romeo and Juliet-like inspiration. I feel it is somewhat rushed as it almost seems to skim past a few scenes and development, being a tad fast pace . However I can forgive this as I enjoyed it so much.
Art & Sound 7: Both art and sound are pretty good but not amazing. The art quality isn't bad but was somewhat generic. However its battle scenes where quite awesome and well made. The sound was also alright, nothing too notable. The OP and ED where fine I guess. The voice acting was quite good in both Sub and Dub. (the captains dub voice while kind of goofy is really cute idk just me?)
Character 8: the characters where quite cool, my guilty pleasure is watching anime or reading manga with an OP edgy MC, but Iska was only OP and quite an alright guy which was refreshing I guess. Alice was also pretty great, having her cute moments while also being an absolute UNIT on par with Iska. Their relationship is pretty nice to see too. The other characters are pretty cool and quirky too, the Captain especially being one of my favourites.
Enjoyment 9: The setting, action, characters and the Romeo and Juliet theme with the MC and FMC just made for a really enjoyable watch. Its not amazing by all means, but I felt I could just relax when watching this series. Overall I'd highly recommend this series for those who aren't too nit-picky, and don't mind it's generic feeling.

SPOILERS AHEAD----- sorry it's abit long as it's partly a rant and mostly a analytical opinion on the anime as a whole. Also I apologise if some parts sound repetitive or don't make sense, as like I said I'm partly venting so a lot of this is just me regurgitating what's in my brain.
Looking back to when Goblin Slayer first aired, I remember how every snowflake under the sun got overly offended and sensitive about the first episode. The controversy was immense in the west, youtube videos and other social media forums were ranting at how vulgar and obscene that scene was. The brutal massacre
...
and subsequent rape scene soon after in episode 1 got everyone's panties in a twist. I find it so funny how it turned out that I just have to vent in this review.
Firstly before I go on, this anime is not for the faint of heart and especially not for kids. The scenes are often overly brutal and is "Meant" to be so, which many Snowflake viewers back in 2018 did not clearly understand.
I, like many others who understand the series, got a little mad about that scene not because it was "controversial" but because it is meant to make you mad. The scene down to it's core is that of a somewhat clever one, it's purpose is to make you completely hate the Goblins as the main antagonists of the series to their core, that's the point. It is also a scene that gives a bit of world building, there isn't rape just for the sake of rape, but to show part of the Goblins backstory (how they reproduce, live and why they are hated by villages/goblin slayer) as well as present how horrifying and brutal this semi realistic fantasy world is. Many more rapey scenes are shown throughout for this exact purpose for example the scene with goblin Slayers sister, is there to show why he hates Goblins so much.
Anyway onto the proper review segments. Story 8/10. I may be just abit overly biased as the badass and edgy MC in a fantasy genre is kinda my jam but in general the story is pretty good. It has a simple premise of heavily armed and experienced Goblin Slayer brutally hunts down Goblins for the sake of revenge and to one day wipe them out. Why? Well because they Pillage and Plunder defenceless villages and then proceed to breed with the kidnapped females of said villages. This is an ongoing problem as the rest of the guild other than Goblin Slayer, are only in it for the money and Goblins are very cheap so nothing is being done about it. Along the way he rescues the Healer from the cruel fate her party have faced after running into a Goblin ambush. She later joins him and the story goes on from there.
The Art and Sound are both 7/10. The art is definitely pleasing, but the quality dulls every now and again showing more of an inconsistent style. The Sound is also kinda average. OD and ED and quite catchy and the sound effects are what you'd expect. The voice acting for both sub and dub are great, not too much that stands out but it's not bad.
Characters are 8/10. I love most of the characters in this show. They each have their own quirky personalities and have their own unique style. Their growing relationships from their first meetings to the last episodes are nice to see. For instance the Elf and Dwarf somewhat warming up to one another while serving more so as the comic relief alongside the Lizardman. However, most the characters other than Goblin Slayer and the Sword Maiden are not built upon in any way. Their backstories are almost non existence and are just kind of there for some reason or another. This makes it hard to really care about each and every character other than for their personalities. The manga and Light novel differ in that sense as most characters are given backstories and proper motivations.
Enjoyment 10/10. As I've said before, this show is kinda my jam for it's genre and main character. I'm also somewhat of a sucker for harem anime which this is somewhat of but it's not too overbearing which makes the darker tone more prominent than it would if this show was more light-hearted.
Overall I highly recommend this to anyone who likes dark fantasy or anyone who has been put off by those who bashed it back in 2018. (I know I'm 3 years late lol)

To start off I have to say I wasn't really expecting this series to grab my attention and heart so forcefully the way it did. By that I mean I wasn't expecting to like a slice of life about an amusement park as much as I did when I first watched it. I'd say re-watching it still warms me up to this day. I found it by chance, after seeing some pretty funny screenshots of Seiya being a narcissist as well as looking through all of Kyoto Animations works, I decided to watch this to kill some time.
The time I took watching it was well
...
spent to say the least. It is a wholesome and heart warming series with plenty of loveable characters with unique and enjoyable personality's (especially Seiya's Narcissism in some scenes). While It did have a unique one, didn't have too much of a complex story and was easy to follow and watch without paying too much attention to the finer details (I'm not saying they weren't there though). It can be a tear jerker in the later episodes for the faint of heart, but it's not too bad. This series felt like something I could vibe to. Laying back with a cup of tea and snacks while re-watching it recently became a habit.
As for the Art and sound, both were superb. A staple of KyoAni's works, the animation is top notch and the voice acting in both sub and dub are marvellous (personally I preferred the Dub version).
Overall I would highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to chill out to a wholesome and light-hearted show without having to worry about needing therapy afterwards.
