A love story whose realistic expediency in its resolution is the first indication that the author possess the ability to create a complete and holistic narrative. Introduction and development of characters is seamless, and mirrors reality as the advancement of these characters further deepens the relationships and interactions between all other actors and parties. The author also spectacularly avoids the extremely common pitfall of core character overload, where once characters are created and introduced they become a mainstay of every episode. This expert restraint completely skirts the deluge of a cast heavy inflexible mess, that often drowns a show in both endless group episodes and ...

Mixed Feelings
Everything you've ever dreamed of in a show about being trapped inside an MMO terminates into a despondent conflagration upon devolving into a loli infested harem. An interesting premise with clear world mechanics, descriptive setting, character diversity, societal analysis, governing strategy and politics, classic shonen action, and decent comedy. All to be engulfed in the flame of insatiable love interest. This author blew the doors off of what was thought to be a dead genre, only then to crush our spirits by later revealing it was a Trojan horse filled with flat chested preteens and busty maidens whose sole reason for existence is to seduce ...

Fan service like you've never seen it before. Magic in this show seems to exist solely for the purpose of exploding and shredding clothing off a gratuitous cast of female characters. Next, phallic shaped creatures called "Sea Cucumbers" coincidentally work themselves into the scene, and violently excrete white sticky goodness to coat the females head to toe post involuntary disrobe. It's a glorious process that passes the censors by the skin of its teeth, and only serves to arouse the male pre-teens whose overly protective parents wont permit the use of a phone or laptop to access anything better.

Art is slightly less than standard. Sound ...

K-On! (Anime) add
The spiritual successor that Seinfeld never wanted, this truly is a show about nothing. Girls initially pretending to be interested in music get to together to eat sweets and call each other nick names. There is no real dialogue or story or content. The author simply copy and pasted 5 generic anime girls, made a list of all the food they liked, and then proceeded to dictate that list to us. Writhing at the thought of doing anything other than this, the author eventually caves and makes his characters "play a show" that they never practiced for, but absolutely "rock the house". There is nothing ...

A dumb show written by a dumb author about the highest IQ characters imaginable. These Einstein shamers know everything that will ever happen ever, and need not ever offer an explanation for any of their decision making and choices other than "I knew the whole time." The equivalent analogy of protagonist and antagonist interactions is two 4 year olds sitting in their booster seats in the back of the car endlessly repeating "I knew you were going to say that", until mom pulls the car over, exits the vehicle, and is never to be seen again because she just can't take it anymore. It's ...

Btooom! (Anime) add
This is an awesome version of the island death match "Battle Royale" concept, except everyone has special bombs and radar. The only problem is that the entire show is about rape. The female protagonist is a busty blonde whose backstory is she got a bunch of her friends raped. This is actually all they do to tell us about who she is. Now she's on this island with bombs and radar and needs to kill people to survive. So of course the logical next step is that every man she encounters is doing everything he possibly can to force himself sexually upon her. You know, ...

Air Gear (Anime) add
This show is about making motorized roller skating as convoluted and idiotic as possible. Groups of kids fly around and either do bullshit nonsense races, or beat each other up with imaginary skate magic. The purpose is to climb a fake tower that doesn't actually exist. They all talk about it like it's real, but it's not. It's just some ranking ELO system that I guess they always input off-screen. Apparently the main character can see air and skate on it, because everyone in the show says he can. And he was destined to be the greatest skater ever, because everyone in the show says ...

The main character has no role in the show whatsoever. Their purpose is literally just to play as a voyeur to the mostly boring drama of band schoolmates. Most of these issues include multiple episodes of drama from both sides of the party, and then a final episode when both parties have a single conversation that instantly resolves the issue. At least the show does a decent job developing these characters through these incidents, using the main character as a foil to rehash everything up until that point. Art is standard. Sound is slightly better than average, seeing as it's a show about music. There ...

Kiznaiver (Anime) add
The only line said in this entire show over and over is "We're Kiznaiver's now!" It means literally nothing and they endlessly repeat it, hoping it will gain meaning somewhere along the way. The author had the idea of making a story about people feeling the pain of others, and then literally couldn't put more than two thoughts together to form a cohesive story line or interesting cast of characters. Hell even 1 interesting character. The art was of standard quality. The sound was nothing memorable standard quality. I enjoyed almost no episodes of this show, other than maybe the first one, before I realized ...

Mixed Feelings
Exists as an allegory for the toxicity of humanity to Earth, and focuses on the hypocrisy and lack of logical consistency of anthropocentrism, most specifically in regard to treatment of animals and general exploitation/pollution of the environment. The writer very clearly wanted to design a shonen masque around this central idea, and created 3-4 major plots points to continue engaging the viewer so they could eventually express their ideas. Aside from these few points, most of the show exists either in a lull, or in a state where the main character has no influence or part of the events taking place. Even when these major ...
