I went into this as a huge fan of Hosoda's other works, and was expecting this to be a lot more romance-driven than it ended up being. (Mainly due to all the beauty and the beast stuff)

I still really enjoyed the film regardless. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous, especially all of the stuff in the digital world. And the art style, like all of Hosoda's films, makes the characters in the real world expressive while still more grounded than their digital characters.
The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic, but that goes hand-in-hand with being a musical.

Mixed Feelings
I went into this movie with high expectations considering how much I liked the last two movies. And honestly felt let down. I don't think it's bad, but it feels a bit basic. Like a by-the-numbers anime spin-off movie.
I did really like Rory as a character, and his little arc was satisfying.
I think the villain being the head of an anti-quirk cult had the potential to be very interesting. But not a ton of focus was put onto it.
Despite being called "world heroes mission", we don't get to see what's going on much apart from a bit of the country it takes place in. I ...

Preliminary (7/16 eps)
I'm coming into this anime as somebody who is a pretty big fan of the game it's based upon.
I feel that the series does a fairly good job as an adaptation, the characters all feel accurate to their in-game counterparts, and very little feels out of place narratively.
There were a few smaller moments that were in the game but cut from the anime, but nothing major.
The main problem is how it handles the backstories of the two main characters, adding weird scenes that take away any ambiguity their pasts had, and I felt it broke immersion for me.
