This is literally a masochist's haven. You subject yourself to pain, and have this revenge fantasy. Now, while the rating is high (because, for the memes), I think this anime either strikes as an anime that goes too far, or an anime that strikes as very daring. I think of the latter.
I'm not going to beat around the bush, because I'm going to say it's very questionable. Of course you get rape, what's not questionable about it? I'm also pointing out how kinda cheap it is for this "anime" to in the blur between anime and hentai. They're trying to get the best of both

This movie is oddly enough, one serious contender in terms of anime, especially when it's a joint Sino-Japanese animation, at that.
It was really enjoyable to watch, and it's like one of the eye-candies you see in watching Kimi no Na Wa and Koe no Katachi. I even remembered they compared this movie to the former, to which I say that it's sufficiently far from it, enough for this movie to be unique. With that out of the way, I have to mention one glaring flaw, and it's about the characters- their arcs aren't that satisfying when concluded (that doesn't mean it's bad), because it falls short ... |
