The way I review anime is based on a variety of things.
- Moe anime is not judged harshly by me.
I don't see a reason to hate or dislike a show if it's not trying to be some super poetic artsy series, as such moe shows or slice of lifes in general should be based on pure enjoyment rather than some somewhat more meaningless aspect like "bad plot".
- I'll criticize an anime more if it's more popular or ridiculously popular.
Many shows that are super popular or even mainstream have their own bad qualities, and some have no reason to be as popular as they are, very few exceptions exist. Dark/Grim Dark shows and Hype Beast shows are particular offenders in this case as I don't feel like these shows actually have as much merit as people give them.
Examples: Deadman Wonderland, Akame ga Kill, Chainsaw Man
- Action Anime will be judged fairly based on tone.
Action anime has a greater reason to be serious and I applaud when action animes are serious however if that's not the tone the show is going for then I'll judge the show based off of that tone itself, if I enjoy an action anime despite it being ridiculous then I'm still going to give it a lower rating because of any obvious flaws.
Lastly I don't write/type reviews, I only score anime.
Example Scores:
1 = Horrible
2 - 3 = Bad
4 - 5 = Meh
6 = Good / Possibly Recommended
7 - 8 = Great / Recommended
9 - 10 = Amazing / Highly Recommended
