I went quite a few years without a MAL account, so there's going to be a lot of holes here and there. There's going to be anime missing from my list (OVAs and specials in particular) that I've watched, some anime won't have scores because I watched them like 8 years ago and don't remember enough to fairly rate them, episode counts on watching/on-hold/dropped won't be fully accurate, etc.
Rough outline of what my ratings mean:
10:
Reserved for the truly outstanding anime that not only slap hard, but contain themes that keep you thinking years later. These anime have shaped me as a person, and changed the way I look at certain aspects of life and society.
9:
These anime slap hard. I can't really put into words what differents these from eights, other than that they hit different. I'll almost certainly rewatch these at least once, if not multiple times.
8.
These are anime that I like a fair bit, but lack that little je-ne-sais-quoi to make it to a nine. There's a moderate chance I'll try rewatching these at some point.
7:
This is more or less the baseline. The stuff I don't mind having watched, but I wouldn't bother rewatching the vast majority of these unless I need a refresher for a sequel or it's part of a longer series.
6:
Something at this rating is usually somewhat boring, unoriginal or the writing just isn't good. There's still a chance I really enjoy something at this rating while recognizing their many faults (so essentially guilty pleasures). At this rating the chance I'll drop an anime after a couple episodes goes up immensely. These might be anime I watched a long time ago and have since re-evaluated as not that good and would likely not even bother with nowadays.
5 or lower:
Almost exclusively stuff I watched a long time ago before I developed a taste for what's good, bad anime I challenged myself to watch, or just stuff I happened by when I was really, really bored.
