You cannot compare two shows with widely different worlds, themes, storylines and characters; in the middle school context of TKR, we have these guys ready to throw hands over the smallest of clashes and there are way too much ego/pride-driven actions going on, which isn't entertaining to watch in the slightest.

On the other hand, the only case of "testosterone-jacked dudes overreacting" in JJK I can think of is Todo and they use it ironically as an element of humour, almost mocking its serious use in other anime *cough cough* Of course, there are tons of extravagant fights in JJK but there is at least a logical reasoning behind the events taking place and you can't deny that they are exhilarating to watch. Moreover, every interaction between characters results in learning more about their personal story and help you connect with them. JJK's cast of loveable characters has always been one of its strongest points and I just can't say the same for TKR, where everyone annoys me, except maybe Drakken.
