Alright! First off, Medaka Box is currently the best manga that I have ever read. There are no cons to the manga in this review because I believe there are none. In the beginning of the manga you wouldn't expect it to develop into such a psychological setting. Medaka helps students with her extraordinary(god-like) powers and is pretty simple to follow.
Then there is the arc with the Plus Abnormals. Through this arc we discover Medaka is truly in a category of her own when even these abnormal people couldn't match up to her. There was a lot of fighting and the plot starts to deepen

You will see in many reviews that during or after the Minus Arc is when you decide that this manga is like no other. The whole Arc revolves around Kumagawa and he alone is the reason this manga took a turn for the better. His reasoning of wanting to do things a character like him(antagonist) normally doesn't starts to break down the whole psyche of the shonen norm. I just find it fascinating how Kumagawa views his and all the other character's roles in the story.
Najimu Ajimi's appearance was the final event that made this manga beyond anything I could've imagined from a manga. She is the sole character that believes in the 4th wall. For having lived before the start of the Earth and holding limitless power she became bored of this world. She resolved that the whole world isn't real and that they're in a manga. It has a twisted comical effect for me because she's so right! It felt so eerie seeing Najimu behave like that and then have the other characters telling her they are not in a manga world.
It was so in depth with every explanation that sometimes I couldn't even follow. This manga has so many conversations that will have your mind going in circles. Your psyche may even break because of Kumagawa and Najimu challenging the rules that every shonen manga must follow and basically standing up to the norm that every show with a main character follows. The real crushing part was that even though they said all of this and challenged the main character position, Medaka always prevailed.
The fighting was also very in depth. The characters didn't have basic powers like controlling elements or being a master at a martial art. They have powers that are mind bending. Literally.
Amazing fighting. In depth plot. Amazing characters. Even a little romance in their for those that enjoy love and bonds between characters.
All in all I don't think I could find another manga like this if I tried my absolute hardest. After I found out Nisio Isin wrote the story I just became so happy. I knew he had created Bakemonogatari which is another great story, so knowing he is writing Medaka Box made me love him even more. I'm going to try and read all of his works because Medaka Box has indefinitely changed my perspective on the fact that the main character must always win. Kinda makes me bored with some manga that follow the normal shonen plot completely.
