+ Absolutely phenomenal music! The punk rock instrumentals are easily the strongest aspect of this anime.
+ The animation is very inventive, breaking into meta-gags and surreal visuals regularly, which adds to the comedy.
+ There is a great roster of main characters! They each possess unique qualities that make them entertaining to watch.
~ Bocchi doesn't have much of a character arc, and the season ends somewhat abruptly.
~ As a music anime about a group of high-school girls forming a band, it can be somewhat formulaic and predictable.
~ Like most anime based on a 4-koma manga, the show has relatively low stakes, and some viewers might not ...

+ It's very funny and has great comic timing! I watched this in a fully-packed theatre, and the jokes got a lot of laughs and cheers from the whole audience.
+ A great thematic compliment to Season 3! While "Ultra Romantic" was outwardly flashy and idyllic, this movie is quite a bit more grounded and poignant.
+ I enjoy how they keep the pacing tight and free of unnecessary fluff; manga readers will notice how they cut out a few lines or scenes from the chapters to focus the story on our two main protagonists, Kaguya and Shirogane.
+ There are a lot of bits of visual flair, ...

+ A great blend of characters that makes for a very cute and funny story!
+ Anya's antics are easily the funniest part of every episode she's in
+ Structure goes a LONG way in landing an episode's emotional impact
+ The animation of the OP and ED have this fantastic Ghibli-esque quality to them
~ Some episodes can skew a bit too silly, taking the already low stakes out of the story
~ This is made worse on episodes that don't involve characters that we personally like or care about

= Spy x Family is good! It's funny and has some genuinely surprising punchlines, but there's not a whole lot ...

+ It's colourful, bright and action-packed! As expected of Studio Trigger!
+ Clear motives and stakes for our protagonist makes it really easy to follow the story
+ Very good use of the archetypal cyberpunk themes: a neo-noir story about rebels and lawbreakers who try to survive in an urban dystopia mired by wealth, greed and corruption
+ The story is absolutely splendid!
+ Scenes of cyber-psychosis are chilling and highly effective
~ It could use at least another episode or two; the finale feels a bit abrupt and inconclusive
~ The art and animation can be janky in some parts

= Edgerunners is an anime that knows what it wants. It's ...

Chainsaw Man (Anime) add
+ The best part of Chainsaw Man has always been the plot and themes, and the anime adaptation is no different
+ Great use of action, particularly in balancing hand-drawn elements with CG
+ The brief scenes of horror and suspense are very effective
+ Proactive editing and streamlining parts of the manga helps to keep the pacing fast
+ 12 unique ending themes! Wow!
+ I love the frenetic energy of the opening too
~ The show can be very violent and disgusting, if you're not into that
~ As an adaptation, the structure of a couple episodes is questionable; the pacing of the final episode in particular is somewhat uneven, ...

+ An anime series that succeeds by defying every Shonen anime convention!
+ Conflicts are almost always resolved with non-violence
+ The crude, simplistic art compliments the silly, often absurd, comedy
+ Action scenes are dynamic, flashy and clear (clarity being especially important in action)
+ Explores coming-of-age themes in a way that is wholly emotional and cathartic
+ Answers many of the lingering questions that existed since the beginning of the anime in a satisfying way
+ Every season of Mob always has a zany, colourful opening, and this season is no different
~ Honestly can't think of any cons; even the silly filler episodes are great!

= I've watched Mob Psycho ...

Mixed Feelings
+ The art and animation are cute!
+ Very catchy ending theme
~ It's severely lacking in novelty; the show needs a hook or selling point to separate it from other slice-of-life anime
~ The story has no real conflict; characters are in love but don't ask out their crush for artificial reasons
~ The show doesn't really go anywhere and ends on a cop-out

= It's a mediocre, run-of-the-mill high school rom-com with a tiny bit of shogi sprinkled in. It's not awful, but it is unoriginal, even by slice-of-life standards. Cuteness factor aside, the anime isn't very dramatic or absorbing. By Episode 7, I found it hard to ...

"Oshi no Ko" (Manga) add
Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (94/? chp)
+ A story about the ugly side of show business -- a novel concept!
+ Revenge serves as a simple but effective motive for our protagonist
+ Great character writing! Unique personalities for different characters (especially Kana and Akane)
~ The "reincarnation" story premise is incredibly stupid, and it gets worse every time they bring it up
~ The overarching story feels poorly structured; in 94 chapters, there have been (I think) 3 time skips
~ It wants to be a more realistic take on the "pop idol story" format (e.g., Love Live, Idolmaster), but its depiction of show business is cliche at best

= Oshi no Ko is at its ...

Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (11/13 eps)
+ The visual are absolutely breathtaking; easily the most picturesque anime I've seen
+ The soundtrack, by hip-hop duo "Creepy Nuts", compliments the tone and mood of the show nicely
+ Aptly captures the relaxing feeling of wandering the city at night
~ The anime SORELY needs sharper stakes and conflict -- there is no real urgency or obstacles in the story
~ Horrible misuse of vampires as a story device, especially because there is practically no horror in this anime
~ The core theme of the show, "People only sleep well when they're satisfied with their day," feels unconvincing

= I get the appeal of Call of the Night; it ...

+ Like Season 2, Kaguya Season 3 is a wonderful anime adaptation of the manga! A-1 Pictures knows exactly how to elevate and embellish on the jokes of the source material
+ The animation is colourful and fluid (most of the time), and gives what would ostensibly be a simple rom-com a great deal of levity
+ The voice acting is spot-on as per usual
+ The ED is amazing, especially compared to Season 2's lackluster ED
~ The OP "GIRI GIRI" is a bit of a step back compared to Season 2's "DADDY! DADDY! DO!" both in terms of funky musical vibes and visual style
~ There are times ...
