CYGUARD MUTHA TRUCKAHS!
Don't listen to the suckers who say this show is a turd. They're turds. Cyguard isn't art. Ok so it isn't "GOOD" from an analytic perspective. The most interesting parts about the setting are barely touched upon. The characters don't do or say enough for you to care about them. Worst of all, English subs are impossible to find and the dub sounds like it was done by 5 college students on a deadline.
But here's the thing:
CARNAGE, JUSTICE, AND MECHA BATTLES WITH AN APE CREATURE. Sound like fun?
You don't need to watch this movie. Nobody does. but if you're up for some hot-blooded ... fisticuffs with rad-tastic music and random decapitations, you WANT to to watch this.
Ok, fair warning: the animation is abysmal outside the action. Hopefully you are only watching this for the action anyway.

Awwwww shiiiiit dawg. Its time for Bullet Armors.
Bullet Armors is a relatively short battle manga. You could read this in 2 hours, so it's not a huge commitment to pick it up. This a VERY light read with no complicated plot points or motivations. The story is obviously aimed at younger readers (not quite as insultingly low as, say, Cage of Eden, but still pretty low), maybe 11-14. The art style is similar to that of Fairy Tale, but a bit sharper with a more masculine feel. The tech in the series, namely the "tremors"/"tremble," is picked out in delicious greebly detail that got me ... MEGA HYPE every time a battle broke out.
I was mildly disappointed with the missed opportunities with this manga; it ended far too soon. And when the only fault you have with a series is that it ended, you may as well count that as a compliment. I cannot repeat enough that you should go into this expecting a very normal shounen battle manga aimed at children, having only one or two levels of complexity over things like Mazinger.
Overall, I give this series a single thumb up. It was aight.

*FULL-SPIEL AHEAD*
Aight dawg, listen up. Black Heaven is not a one-time anime. You will watch it more than once. It's not deep. You dont have to rewatch to understand whats going on. You will remember this anime randomly sometime later in life and feel the need to watch it again. It's freaking great.

It's about passion, and sticking to it. its about friends, family, love and depression. But there is no story-book lesson to learn here. ... It's not a shounen moral piece. It follows a man who decides what he wants to do with his life, always choosing what he loves above all else. That's probably the biggest draw of the work, the truly "adult" protagonist. This aint one of your high-school-shitfests. Oh, look, originality!

Look, this is about music, and there are only like three songs tops in the series. IT'll get annoying if you marathon it, but hey, its the same as listening to it on the radio that way. The tunes are hella catchy.

The art is kinda old. Not MSG old, but like, maybe, low-budget from 08th MS team-tier. It looks good enough. Check out the first episode sometime. Actually, no. Set a day or two aside for this one. It'll be fun.

It you like older shoujo, this is an older shoujo. It's got drama and compromising sexual situations. And magic. It's a pretty stupid story, but if you wanna read a magic swordswoman shoujo, well, here you go. It may be too short for some people, but honestly, it couldn't end any other way.
