It really bothers me why some people simply refuse to watch a series in its original language and instead watch a half-assed dub. Let me start by saying that japanese voice actors are a billion times better than almost any english voice actor on the planet in terms of voice selection, the amount of emotion and effort put into the voice and the sheer scale of variaty among Seiyuus. It's almost like Japan is "The land of voice acting", obviously in part to the success and sustained growth of the anime industry in the country. Therefore it baffles me when someone prefers to watch a crappy dub that fails to duplicate all the funny quirks that are only understood in japanese. Of course, decent dubs do exist, but NONE and I mean NONE live up to their japanese counter parts. The english dubbing industry simply isn't big enough. The quality just isn't there. Besides this, when an anime is produced in Japan, the mouth movements are animated to match the lines of the script, but when an english dub does it, it's the other way around. The script is modified to fit the mouth movements, because lip sync is more important than interesting lines. You can't always have both, which completely impairs the quality of a foreign dub. I know that some people prefer to be able to pay attention to the action on the screen by avoiding the necessity of subtitles, but the tradeoff just simply isn't big enough. You lose so much, SO MUCH, of the quality of an anime by watching it dubbed that it baffles me why anyone would choose to do so. Sorry sorry I started rambling
