Just a Friendly person from Washington DC who loves Anime, Japanese Culture, Gaming, and Above all else, Music.
I'm gonna List my Scoring so you can see where my head is at. This list mentions Anime but applies to manga as well.
There's three groups, plus a 10.
1-3 - This Anime is bad. whether it be the story, animation, or acting, the anime is OBJECTIVELY Poor. At best, I can think of many things that would improve this anime, and at worst, I can think of NOTHING that would save this anime.
1 - Bad and Unenjoyable, Irredeemable
2 - Bad and Indifferent. I could see this being acceptable, but there's a LOT to fix
3 - Bad but a Fun watch. So close to being acceptable, but there's just too much wrong. Hate-watch territory.
4-6 - This anime is "Fine". these anime are just okay. Any mix of Good and bad qualities could result in this. At best, I can think of a couple of things that would improve the Anime, and I think it's acceptable. At worst, I can think of a couple of things that would improve the Anime, and I think it's unacceptable.
4 - Indifferent and Unenjoyable. something about it isn't good enough for "good", and some other element is poor
5 - True Indifference. This is Not an Anime I would recommend, but Not something I would trash-talk either.
6 - Indifferent, but a Fun Watch. Story could be kind of boring, Acting could be weird, Premise could be something that doesn't catch me. this anime stops just short of being something I'd consider Good.
7-9 - These Anime Are good! This is something I would Recommend someone Watch, And I Typically find enjoyable. every criticism from this point forward is likely minor or a Nitpick. At Best, I Find These Anime to be absolutely outstanding with very few notes. At worst, I find the Anime to be Very Enjoyable with one or two areas for improvement.
7 - Good, But with Room for Improvement. I enjoyed it a lot but I feel like a few things could have boosted it.
8 - Good, that's it! I like the Anime, I feel like it's a strong contender for top of the season if it's current, or recommended list if it's older.
9 - Almost no notes. Every Aspect of this Anime is done to an extremely high level and Enjoyable, but it may not crack my "Instant classic" list in my mind. May have one thing that just pulls it back slightly for me.
10 - A Classic. Something I'd beg friends to watch because I think they would truly enjoy it. An Anime where I truly cannot think of anything that would make it better than how amazing it already is.
