KeroKero chime is probably the most obscure manga I’ve read so far, and I mean, yeah, it’s not perfect, but it’s really cute. The series is about a boy named Aoi who is transported into the frog land by some magician I think and now anytime he touches water, he turns into a frog. He meets a princess named Mimori who I love so much and they go on a journey to find the magic books missing pages in order to lift Aois curse. There’s a lot of other stuff that happened, but since I read the entire series in raw Japanese, I might have
...
misread something so I’m not going too deep into it (I can speak a little bit of Japanese and I’m learning kanji right now). The art style is so adorable and I think the characters are decent, though mimori is definitely the best one. I found the manga set online for 20$ and considering that it’s such a rare series, I know I had to get them, and I might be one of the only few people outside Japan to actually own at least one volume of it. Honestly I think it was money well spent as I really enjoyed reading it. My main problem outside of me misunderstanding some things is that it did get and feel repetitive and I can’t say any of the other characters outside of aoi, mimori, and the wizard were great. Still if you’re able to find it, I’d recommend giving it a try, though unfortunately, it’s never been translated before, so it might only be a more enjoyable read if you’re able to read Japanese. Still a really cute read.

Alright so when I tell you I was obsessed with Pokemon as a kid, I’m not kidding. I discovered the Pokemon anime when I was eight and it became my personality for the next year or so. I watched every single episode of the anime that was out at the time, though I kinda stopped at sun and moon, I didn’t grow up with a game boy so I only got to play the ds games with diamond and pearl still being one of my favorite games of all time, I used to to torture everyone I knew with my Pokemon knowledge. The anime was
...
my favorite show for a while and since I finally got a gba sp recently and how I almost beat fire red, I thought I could revisit the anime with my mom bevause she also loves Pokemon. She’s never seen the anime but has played the games and plays Pokemon go anything we go somewhere. But is Pokemon good? Well…
Despite me giving it a 7/10, I honestly think it’s a great show (the first season that is, everything else I didn’t care for)
Yeah, Pokemon has problems. The animation is mediocre and reuses animation a lot (which I guess is the case for a lot of retro anime, but it is really noticeable in Pokemon), the characters are ok and can get pretty annoying, it’s repetitive and even though I don’t mind when shows are repetitive but in Pokemon, while the episodes are enjoyable, aren’t really interesting and are only really good when you want to watch the show out of boredom.
Despite that, it has a lot of pros
The characters are incredibly memorable and team rocket is easily the best and while I don’t think ash is a great character, his entire existence gives me so much nostalgia to when I would watch the show and think ash was the coolest thing ever. The soundtrack is great and I get the music stuck in my head a lot, and the Japanese version of the first opening goes hard and my god, anytime I hear the English opening, I basically die of nostalgia. Some episodes and arcs are great and my favorite episode is definitely the one where ash leaves pikachu, it did make my eyes feel watery, but I cry at everything so I don’t know if it’s a problem with me.
Is Pokemon a great masterpiece? No. But is it a good show that I hope kids love as time goes on? Yes. I rewatch Pokemon anytime I want to relive the days of when I wasn’t stressed out about anything and it’s one of the few shows I watched as a kid that really impacted my life. I do honestly recommend Pokemon if you haven’t seen it so you can get a taste of what true nostalgia is like. Not an amazing show, but a good one and it will always have a special place in my heart

“Anime was a mistake, it’s nothing but trash”
The first ever anime folks, and I gotta admit, it’s not too special, but it’s kinda cute. Don’t go into it thinking it will be the greatest anime ever, it’s over a century old, so watch it knowing this is where it all started
Story: Non existent/10
There’s no story other than some guy writes on a board
Art: 7/10
Not the worst art, it’s pretty charming and simple
Uhh, 5/10 I guess. If it wasn’t the first anime ever made, then I’d probably recommend you skip it, but I’d give it a watch if you want to see an important part of
...
anime history. It’s only three seconds so you should be fine. Highly recommend if you’re a history nerd like me

There are so many little things that can really impact your life. Whether it be a piece of media, a small memory, or just someone that you only knew for a short period of time. It happens to everyone, and it can take a while to find that thing that will leave a big impact on your life. Anime has evolved so much over the century it’s been around, there have been a lot of great ones, occasional bad ones, and ones you didn’t know would change your life forever, which is what Rurouni Kenshin did to me. I discovered this series when I was
...
12 and it became my obsession, not only because I thought it was good but because it taught valuable life lessons and gave me the courage to become a better person. I’ve wanted to throw away my past because of what it had in it, and I try to be a better person, leaving the bad stuff behind. I can relate to Kenshin because of this and I see myself in him. The show has always been my favorite and it probably always will, which is why I wanted to talk about this ova, and why I consider it to be the greatest of all time
But first, a little backstory:
The anime television series came out 1996 and ended with a total of 94 episodes in 198. The final season consisted of nothing but pointless and horrible filler which led to the series cancelation. This is due to the fact it ran into a problem: it caught up with the manga while still being published. The anime never adapted the final jinchuu arc and was left unfinished and it still hasn’t been animated to this day, and despite it getting a remake, I have doubts it ever will (if you know, you know). In 1999, an ova for the series was made which covered Kenshins life as the battousai.
And that’s kinda the history up until that point, so without further ado, let’s begin
SPOILER WARNING FOR THE MANGA, ANIME TV SERIES, AND OF COURSE, OVA
STORY/10: I really don’t have words to describe how wonderful of a story this is.Really if I’m going to talk about how phenomenal it is, I really mostly need to talk about the final episode, which was outstanding. The way they were able to tell a story in such beautiful, mature, and realistic way that’s still really impactful is just gorgeous. I rewatched the anime after the ova and it made me realize one scene in particular was possible foreshadowing to the ending. In the final battle with shisho, his girlfriend, Yumi, tries to stop Kenshin from hurting him anymore because due to the severe burns on his body, if he fights for ever 15 minutes, he dies (he dies for fighting for about 30 minutes) and then kills yumi. The reason I’m mentioning this scene is because near the end of the final episode, Kenshin accidentally kills Tomoe, his wife. The part of yumis death where he gets incredibly angry over the fact he killed his wife is because it happened to him. He went through the same experience, and doesn’t want to remember the pain again. I just thought that part was really neat. The rest of the story is just so so so well written that if I still tear up knowing what’s going to happen, that’s proof the storytelling is perfect and well put together.
CHARACTERS/10: The characters are just as good as in the original anime, but kinda better? I was surprised that
The characters felt a lot more mature compared to their usual incredible, but also very silly selves. Really not too much to say, but I really want to talk about tomoe. She’s such a well devopled character that I kinda like her better than Kaoru. The scene where she dies was really impactful since you were able to get so close to her and she how much Kenshin loved her and to see her get killed on accident by Kenshin is depressing.
ART/10: Usually I don’t really like it when anime goes for a realistic art style, but the way it goes with the story just works. The story is a incredibly mature and realistic war story and the realism for the characters designs just fits perfectly. The animation is also beautiful for its time and doesn’t even feel like I’m watching an anime from the 90s, let alone an OVA. It’s even more insane when you realize they used cel animation and had to hand draw everything
OVERALL: 10/10
There’s honestly so so so much to say about the ova and it will never all be said. I started getting a little tired writing the review so there’s a lot of really amazing moments I left out. Rurouni Kenshin overall just means so much to me and I’m glad despite what happened a couple years ago (if you know you know), there’s still fans all over the world appreciating the series. Rurouni Kenshin will always be the greatest piece of media in my opinion. If you hate it, that’s fine. It’s not a show for everyone, but the reason why I love ruroken so much is just the impact it’s had on my life and I will always appreciate the beautiful tragedy and somewhat uplifting story for what it did. But hey, that’s just a theory
a game theory

This show is incredible. Not as good as the manga or ova, but still amazing. I loved this show growing up and it still is my favorite to this day. I have a lot to say about this because this show honestly means so much to me and I really just wanted to write a review on it
STORY/9: the story is honestly just amazing. A series about a wanderer wanting to repent for all the people he killed in the past really stuck out to me. The story does kinda start out slow with a good amount of pointless filler, which is really the main
...
reason I gave it a 9/10, but once you get to episode 28, the series goes from ok to fantastic. The entirety of the Kyoto arc is just amazing and everything about it is awesome. The fight with Kenshin and Saito was incredible and still is my favorite anime fight to this day, and the scene where Kenshin says goodbye to Kaoru hit me hard. Really the story becomes even better once we’re fully introduced to Shishio. All of the fight scenes really just make the story even better. The fight with Sojiro was great and when he said “If you protect the weak, then where were you when I need you” honestly just made this all more captivating. The fight with aoshi was entertaining and the fight with him in the Megumi rescue arc was great. Saito vs Usui, though it was short, it was well done, and the fight with Sanosuke and Anji honestly hit me in the feels. If we are talking about how the fight scenes affect the story, let’s talk about the fight with Shishio. The entire fight was just so incredible and I was honestly surprised by how well they did it. They didn’t mess anything up and just made it so that the whole thing can really make you just keep watching because of how it’s done. I’ve never really seen any other anime that does something like that other than Yu Yu Hakusho. Honestly the entire story is just amazing and it just knows how to keep its audience interested and captivated. Of course, it would’ve have been a 10/10 if they didn’t just release nonstop filler and animated the jinchuu arc
ART/8: The art style is really pleasing, and the animation is really well done, just check out the Saito fight and the goodbye scene, they’re so beautifully animated and overall the animation is surprising well done for a show from the 90s. However, like a lot of anime from that time, it has a lot of recycled animation, and it can look a little choppy at times. I really noticed the recycled animation were at a couple moments with the fight with that cone head guy. Overall, it’s honestly really good, the animation does get a little sloppy during the third season, but that season was garbage anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
CHARACTERS/10: The characters are just so phenomenal and they were perfectly able to capture their personalities from the manga. Kenshin is honestly my favorite character of all time, and I was surprised how well he was written in ANY of the franchise and how quickly I connected with him. The rest of the kenshingumi are really good and Sanosuke is the best written fit he group other than Kenshin. The characters become better once the Kyoto arc begins. Saito is so cool and he’s pretty awesome, and I get chills whenever he draws his sword. I also love aoshi. He’s just so amazing and one of the best characters in the series. Misao is the best girl in the series, yes, I consider her better than Kaoru and Megumi, but they are really good. Sojiro is the best villain, not just in the series, but also ever (at least in my opinion lol). He isn’t as well written as Shishio, but they did a great job with his character. His entire backstory gave me anxiety and traumatized me as a kid. I feel so bad for him and I just want to give him a hug. Shishio is incredible. He is just incredible and I connected with him a lot more than I thought I would. His death scene where he goes to hell was just really good and terrifying. There’s also yumi. Just mentioning her because she was a good character and the death scene hits harder after watching trust and betrayal, seeing how Kenshin was angry at Shishio for killing his girlfriend, because he went through it himself because (SPOILER) He killed his wife when he was the battousai, so this entire scene just kinda foreshadowed Tomoe and it’s amazing. Also there’s a lot of funny characters, like Yahiko, one of the main kenshingumi who is kinda ignored for the series, but still got me some laughs, and Kamatari made me laugh and little me was actually surprised when it was revealed he was a boy, his reveal in the manga was a lot funnier where he just shows his man area.
SOUNDTRACK/10: Not going to go as deep into it as the previous three, but the soundtrack honestly has the best out of any anime. Not only are the OSTs just so chilling, amazing, and emotional, but the openings and endings are bops and I still listen to Namida wa shitteru (which Kenshins seiyuu actually sung!), fourth avenue cafe, and 1/3 junjou na kanjou regularly. Just such a good soundtrack.
OVERALL 9/10:
Rurouni kenshin is just such an amazing show and the only reason I didn’t give it a 10/10 was filler and that the anime never actually got an ending and just ended with a boring and confusing arc. But I highly recommend this show, trust me, you won’t regret it

Ah yes, trigun. Trigun is honestly one of my favorite anime, and I’m honestly glad stampede gave the series more love, despite stampede being trash. Even though I love this series, it’s not as good as people say. Yes, it’s good, but people make this series a lot better than it actually was, and I got some stuff to say about the show.
STORY/7: honestly the story isn’t the best. It gets really confusing at times and a lot of the show just feels pointless. The story feels repetitive until we get until episode 14, but even that it goes back to being sort of repetitive
...
after a couple episodes. The rem episode was probably the best one in my opinion, it was really interesting and that’s where the shows story got better. The series ending felt a little disappointing, but the action was nice
ART/6: let’s be honest, the animation isn’t that good. It’s very choppy and slow at times, and the art for the characters can look really off at times. There are a couple scenes that look pretty well animated, like the scene in the opening where vash is running with a hamburger in his mouth, but most of the time it just looks poorly done, though I like the art style quite a bit and it’s pretty nice to look at most of the time
CHARACTERS/8: the characters are the best part of the show. They’re incredibly well written and they only get better as the series goes on. Vash is a really good character and I always smile when he’s on screen. Wolfwood was also really fun and while he didn’t get as much focus as vash, he’s still a really good character and the scene where he dies made me cry a lot. Meryl and Milly are my favorites, I just love everything about them, they’re cute, they’re girlbosses, and they’re surprisingly really well done, I’m also still salty they removed Milly from stampede
SOUND/8: the voice acting is really good and fits the characters extremely well, and the music is awesome. The opening makes anything more dramatic and I never skipped it once, the ending theme is pretty good, though not as good as the opening, and I love the western soundtrack so much. There are a couple parts where I felt like the music didn’t fit, but that didn’t happen often luckily, and I just think the soundtrack is perfect for the series
OVERALL/8: trigun isn’t a masterpiece. It has flaws and definitely not for everyone, but it’s just really fun and surprisingly really really good. If you’re a fan of rurouni kenshin or cowboy bebop, then you might like this show and I wish one day we get a proper adaptation of the maximum manga

Urusei Yatsura is just a really fun and hilarious anime and I don’t have much to say unlike a lot of other anime. For an anime adaptation of Rumikos first manga, it was really well done. Lum is a really solid and cute character, Atari starts off annoying but becomes a better character later on, Shinobu is awesome and she’s one of my favorites, oyuki, Benten, ran, Ryunosuke, and the other girls I love, Mendo is really funny, and I really like ton. Really the only character I didn’t like was Ryunosukes dad. The songs are bops and I listen to them regularly, and there’s

really no story, it’s just a fun episodic series that’s hard to hate. Urusei Yatsura is really good and I highly recommend it, especially if you like stuff like ranma, or any of rumikos works really
