Nah you should just watch the movies and you're good.

You should watch the movies. And you should just start with movie 1 and go to 2, 3, etc. it may seem a little confusing at first but everything will be explained later. I hope this helps.

For manga: if you liked the half human aspects, I would recommend 'Jagaaaaaan' and 'chainsaw man'.
If you liked it for the themes, I would recommend 'homunculus' (theme of identity)
Sui Ishida also just released a new manga called 'choujin x'
for anime: if you liked the half human aspects, I would recommend 'Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu'
if you liked it for the themes, I would recommend 'kara no kyoukai' (also theme of identity)
