Preliminary (20/24 eps)
I'm writing this review because IMO this anime is severely underappreciated. I read most of the bad reviews and they usually complain about bad characters, no character development, slow burn story etc. and dropping it early on, so that's pretty much a preliminary judgement that shouldn't be used to sway would-be watchers. So let me break it down on my own terms:

Story - 8/10, the whole anime is a study of different philosophical and existential ideas, and the way they introduce and execute it is very well down IMO! You would be surprised how much it will pique your interest and pick your brain. If ...

Story - 9. Underdogs versus storied champions. It's as shouneny as it gets, "Nice kill!", "Nice serve", "One more", no need to overthink anything, nor analyze anything, it's just a fun season!

Art - 10. Consistency. Haikyuu's art is so consistent that you can watch seasons 1 to 3 and wouldn't think each season was made 1 year from each other.

Sound - 10. Let's just say you'll want to shout "Nice serve", "Nice kill", "Go go Kurasuno" along with the episodes.

Character - 10. To me this season is a Tsukishima arc. You'll add him to your favorite characters in Haiykuu at the end of ...

The execution could do better but the plot itself would get me to watch it so that's why it's an 8.

Art - 7/10

It could do better, more often than not, I could not distinguish between Oga and Arata's RELIFE support, that says alot about their art. Also there seems to be just a little "oomph" missing with the characters that would bring them to life. It ...

I'm not sure why I've been reading several negative reviews about Kabaneri - poorly developed characters, non-gripping storyline, AOT rip-off. I watched it again and I genuinely enjoyed it.

The art is top notch, the world building is good, I mean what can you do with 12 eps? You need more range to do expositions, but given the way they executed it, you'll be sucked into a post-apocalyptic Japan where steam trains are the main point of transportation, zombies roam freely, and there are unique individuals who are both human and zombie, all packed into an enjoyable steampunk adventure.
