Hortensia Saga is a kind of melodrama about a kingdom and its allied dominion. The story is about a princess trying to take back the kingdom while fighting supernatural beings.
The plot had some potential but the story and the events were written far too horribly and the characters never got a single chance of development. It was some sort of melodrama, unnecessary sad scenes, too much friendship power, and a lot of unexplained things. The antagonist and side characters never had any depth, to begin with, and the protagonist never got any development. It was just one bad fight and he learned everything about the
...
situation. The character of the maid gets pretty annoying at one point with the screeching voice and over-excitement. The animation was alright although the use of cgi was terrible and the background fights were so bad to the point of laughable. The art was also far too downgraded compared to other anime of the same time. The anime could have been an average series if they focused more on character development, story events that had a real impact rather than just being a melodrama and giving better story and direction to side characters and antagonists.
The story just barely scratches the plot in my opinion if they had taken their time and made a 24 episode series and shown better parts like showing more about dominion warfare and involvement and giving better history to support the story. All and all the anime as it is right now it's just horrible and I will not recommend it to anyone.

Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut is a story of a prince joining an all-girls knight squadron of the newly made kingdom that stood against his kingdom and won the revolution, he gets his harem and fights against the rebels of the old kingdom
Pretty basic and overused plot with nothing of the slightest interest. The story is also stale and has been seen many times in different and better ways. The most baffling thing is that this anime somehow finds a way to make a genre nowadays that lacks creativity look even worse. The mechas that they use are just made without much intention and change
...
their behavior without giving any basic explanation. The characters are just scribbled by some child with no genuineness or even a little interest; the protagonist is far too overpowered and the antagonist is just created to fill the space. The writing of this anime is far worse and they're trying to adapt genres like ecchi and harem only made it even worse. Art was the only thing that was average everything else was horrible.
Everything about this anime was completely disappointing from plot to story and the characters all seemed to be written by either a child or by an amateur. I will not recommend it to anyone

Kimi no Iru Machi has a pretty cliché plot, the one that had been used many times before, and still, this anime manages to make it look even worse. The MAL information is missing two very important things the genre Ecchi and the theme Harem, so just to warn you it is full of that.
There is only one thing that I personally, in a completely subjective way, is Asuka, She was cute and nothing else. Now talking about the dislikes there are in abundance starting with the plot. It was a pretty basic guy running after a girl that he loved in childhood, nothing new
...
there. The progression of the plot was slow and the characters were shallow. The story had many turns from a love story to a harem and then going ntr at some points not only that but it manages to add a time jump too. The things that I hated the most were unnecessary thigh and panty shots that pop up after each minute and made no contribution to the situation at all.
The anime made the worst plot turn into a downright abomination by making it not only a very basic love triangle but also kept adding new girls as the story progressed. The whole writing that went into the anime was pretty cheap, like they didn't even try to make an average story but just wrote whatever popped up first in their mind. Character development was laughable and whatever little development they made was heavily dependent on them going out with a new character and coming back to the old memories and it repeated a lot.
The guy is shown as a nice guy so he doesn't want to hurt any of the girls and starts his ntr harem that is the point where many of the watchers feel compelled to drop it. The story had no constant theme it fluctuated a lot from love story to love triangle then to a harem and lastly to ntr. The camera angles were absolutely unnecessary, showing panties while the characters are talking about a serious topic is not something that adds any value, and showing the thighs of each girl more than twenty times is also just to keep the audience only for ecchi and not for the plot of the anime.
Also, the anime follows all the basic Romance arcs like boring fireworks just to make memories and repeatedly uses them for bad character development. The rain when there is a sad scene gives the audience a bad cinematic and finally the breakup and they made it even worse in this anime. I still am baffled why the anime is rated this high while being nothing but a mixture of the worst thing.
This is the worst piece of art I have watched to date. It is an absolute abomination on planet Earth, I would never recommend such badly written and directed anime to anyone.

Miyori no Mori is a tale about a girl trying to explore the countryside after being sent there by her parents. The anime focuses on her adapting to new life and developing into a better person.
Talking about the plot it was pretty simple and average with nothing really out of ordinary. I don't think there is a point in talking about plot speed as it's a single special episode movie. As the movie was developed by Nippon Animations it surely has that nostalgic art that makes you keep watching it but this time there was a bit of a problem with the design of
...
the main character Miyori; I didn't like how different she looked from other characters as the contrast was pretty obvious. The animation was lacking at times but still, nothing was really bad with it, just average work. The overall sound was fine but the screams of the main character were cheap work. Overall the anime was pretty average with some cheap and not well-focused work put into it in some aspects but it is still watchable for nostalgia and its Slice of Life aspects
The anime could have been made better if they had focused on it. The story and plot were barely average and the character art as mentioned above at times felt different for the main character and the side characters. Animation at the start was really lacking but got somewhat fine.
So I will say it is worth a try if you want to take some time out of the mainstream and want to watch a simple countryside Slice of Life that feels nostalgic but doesn't set your expectations high for this anime.

Terra Formars is about humans finding a cure for an alien virus on Mars occupied by cockroaches. That's the basic plot of it. The anime itself shows very few things that led up to the present situation and has even fewer episodes where the plot could be seen moving forward.
Let's start with the plot of the anime. For once I thought it had some great potential that was wasted completely over useless character development that has nothing to do with the plot or the anime. They wasted one too many episodes on subplot romance and making emotional connections rather than explaining the story
...
a bit more accurately and detailed. The anime also had many unexplained things and certain visible plot holes making it look really bad. The art was not very satisfactory and the animation was basic and fine.
Alright, here I will dig deep into the matters that I mentioned earlier. The plot was very slow-moving because of unneeded romance that took much of the time and didn't have any actual impact on the plot of the story as they wanted it to be. Side characters were made just to fill places and had no value to them. They just randomly did something to help the main characters not only that but the main characters themselves were far empty and barely had any development. The writing was in a scramble and talking about dialogues they were forgetful.
Now talking about the plot itself the humans are trying to take humanoid cockroaches alive for sampling and finding a cure for the deadly alien virus. Before going to Mars they do a special operation that gives them abilities—I won't tell how as it will be sort of a spoiler. The plot hole and unexplained things that I was talking about are related to that operation. The sources of some characters shouldn't be adaptable on Mars. Only cockroaches are known in the anime that can adapt to such a harsh environment. They change the format of the Operation without giving much thought and leaving it unexplained and using such ambiguous concepts to make powers that would help the plot and instead of making the plot good they just made holes in it.
I for myself didn't like the art; it looked too primitive and lazily drawn. The faces were not parred with animes of the time and the animation also lacked enthusiasm and prominence.
I would say the anime had great potential if it was made with better direction and most importantly with better writing but as it is now I do not recommend it to anyone as it is just another lost potential.

Umi no Cradle is set during the industrial revolution. It is a steampunk manga that revolves around ships and the crew. The main character is a girl in the search of her master, with his master's toddler as her companion. The manga shows about her struggles and tells how she gets used to life as a crew on a steamship named The Lady while being on search.
The industrial revolution is portrayed nicely in the manga, and the steampunk environment just fits it perfectly. The manga is based on the British Empire, from where the main character embarks on her journey. The art is finely suited,
...
but not as great as it could have been; the story is about the struggle and hardship of a woman working on a steamship and learning about the crew's life on the ship. The story is light with no heavy topic, making it suitable for a fast read. The pace of the story is normal, and the characters are average. But it is rare to see steampunk manga with a light-hearted story there isn't much manga in that genre; so it is a manga worth the read if you like the historical setting of the industrial revolution and the era of British gentlemen
The story is about an orphan girl who recently lost her master; she now lives with a drunkard who just wants her to get money for him. The story progresses as she runs away from the man to find her master that she thinks is still alive without any clues, and she also takes her master's only son with her. The story is fine, but not really a great one. There are many flaws like lack of details and interest in dialogues. Most characters are barely average when it comes to personalities, and a few are forcibly made to hate and then love them. The art is mediocre at best, with missing details when it comes to expression and faces. The pace is the only thing that is somewhat fine, other than that, most things are barely above average or just mediocre. The thing that is going for the manga is its genre that is rarely seen the steampunk and on top of that, it is about the industrial revolution where steamship ruled the sea that thing kept the manga interesting and bearable. But if you are someone that likes authentic history then I wouldn't recommend this because it is merely set in a historical period, but it is a work of complete fiction.
In the end, I would say the manga had some nice things and some clear flaws. The most interesting thing is its genre, for me, the story itself was fine but not really of my taste. I would recommend it for people who like females as the main character and love to read a short, light heart story.

Wolfsmund is a fictional history that revolves around Switzerland and its early ages where it was divided into 3 rural communes, Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden. The story is mainly about the Gotthard Pass that connects Switzerland to other countries and is ruled by a tyrant. The story is about fighting for freedom against oppressors. The story has historically valid names for places and most people but also has some folklore and fictional part to make it a dark history manga
Wolfsmund belongs to one of that rare historical manga genre that has more actual history but enough fiction to make it interesting. The manga has fine
...
art that compliments the story it shows. The history of the European middle-age is shown as realistically as possible, full of gore and political warfare. Some characters were written very amazingly, but some interesting ones got ridden way sooner than they should have, although it does make it feel a bit disappointing but not boring. The pace does feel slow at the start, but some good characters make it less painful. If you are really into European Middle Ages history or history in general, then this manga is worth the read.
Alright, time to dissect and talk about the smallest details of the manga. The manga starts nicely with a slow pace that is somewhat balanced by both a lovable and hateable character called Wolfram, the ruler of Gotthard Pass. His character is fascinating and enjoyable; his methods of interrogation and torture give you a shiver and show the reality of the European Middle Ages. When the synopsis of the manga says dark it is no joke, there are some disturbing and gruesome scenes. The manga portrays the spirit and struggle of freedom against oppressing feudal lords. It tells about how 3 different ideological communes work together to get their long-lost freedom by contacting people from foreign countries. But the problem arises as the Gotthard pass is the only easy way that connects Swiss people to the rest of the countries, and it is highly secured by Wolfram. The manga shows how different kinds of people try to get through the Pass and how Wolfram interrogates them. That's the whole idea for most of the manga, but the last part is a bit different, as it shows the full-on war between the people of Switzerland and their oppressors. The battle is shown almost accurately with minor fiction and gives a satisfying taste at the end. The art could have been a lot better and the story could have been more intense if only the ¾ part was not stuck on Gotthard Pass but looking at the manga not being fully actual historical but somewhat fictional it does make some sense to give a fictional character a bit more background. If you look over all the manga; it sure has its flaws and the biggest being the death of interesting characters way early and the slow pace, but it is set on an actual historical timeline making it more or less bearable as not many manga show actual histories that much correctly.
In my opinion, it was a good, satisfying manga that portrayed the European Middle Ages as they were without any filters. I would highly recommend it to any history fans that want a nice and realistic story; it is definitely worth the read.

Kino no Tabi or Kino's Journey is a tale about the journey of a traveler on a talking Motorrad, traveling through different sceneries and countries. Each country in the anime is shown as having unique principles about life and the interpretation of those principles is left on the audience hence making it a thought-provoking and philosophical anime. The deep thoughts presented in the anime are mesmerizing enough to make one think about the fickle nature of the world.
Kino no Tabi is a fine-paced anime focused on philosophy and traveling. The anime only revolves around the traveler and the Motorrad without introducing any other important character
...
throughout the anime which could be considered fine as it doesn't lose its focus from traveling. The art and animation are good but not the best for the year it was released. The characters are stale with little to no development but for a philosophical anime, it could be neglected as the audience plays the greater role. There is no story at all the anime is about them traveling around the world aimlessly living life on the road. The music and the theme songs were calm and nicely matched with the art.
The anime is more focused on philosophical thoughts and the expression of the beauty of the world through traveling. The philosophical part is very enjoyable yet hard to understand at the same time. The pace was a bit unique as the anime is not story-driven and could be made slow and fast depending on the episode and its setting which makes it good. The art was fine with an aesthetic and nostalgic feeling but there were some minor flaws; the animation on the other hand was good and smooth throughout the anime making it a fine piece of art for its time. The characters were hollow and lacking an emotional connection with little to no development throughout the anime and this could be counted as a flaw but if keeping in mind that the main focus of the anime is philosophy, where the audience plays a greater role than the characters; it could be said the development was not that much necessary. The most important thing that the anime lacked was the story as it is the unique part that keeps the audience focused; the lacking of a story undermined some of the great philosophical thoughts in the anime and dulled its core.
The rhythmic and calm music in the anime was top notch, the opening theme song is very well made and the selection of the voice actors was on point except for the Motorrad it felt like they could have done better.
The anime was very enjoyable and admirable for its approach to philosophy and deep thoughts such an approach is fading away from recent times and leaving this series as a good relic for the reminiscence.

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is a great tale about the lost art to Rakugo as I am sure many of us are not native to Japan, so here is a small definition of Rakugo; It is a form of verbal entertainment much like stand up comedy but the main focus is telling comical or sentimental stories without standing up from the position. The anime covers very beautifully both the art of Rakugo and the Edo era of Japan.
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is a very slow-paced, dramatic tale of two apprentices finding their style in the slowly dying world of Rakugo as Japan is going in
...
the direction of a new era. The synopsis is a bit misleading as this season of the anime is mainly focused on the past rather than the present. The art is not the best but it is very much enjoyable, the characters were made after thorough thinking I must say, the depth and emotions they have shown and how they develop different personalities is very entertaining, to be honest with you there were some scenes where drama felt unnecessary but as it is a Josei I don't think it should be held all negative. The story was pretty entertaining, it was not a lot per se as the anime revolves around more in the direction of character development than the story but it was good nonetheless.
This is a bit deep analysis it is fine if you don't want to read this part as I have summarized it in the above paragraph. Here I will discuss the things I liked or disliked about the anime from the pace to sound. The pace of the anime was very slow even for a realistic, history-based anime. There were a few episodes with no progression in the story whatsoever, and it felt boring in some of the initial episodes.
The story was not so hard to follow one can even argue that it was too plain and simple but that's what makes it good as it perfectly matches the era and art; the only thing about the story that was amiss in this season of the anime was the importance; the reason for that was it focused on developing characters rather than the story and that undermined the very basic and important emotion; suspense or anticipation. Character development was on another level in this anime and it is one of the few things I liked the most. They did a great job on the interaction of characters and the effect it made on their future even the side characters were thought very carefully.
The picture they painted of the Edo era is mesmerizing and the environment around the characters was tense yet amazing; the art was really good but not on the level it should have been for the year it was made and it had minor flaws. The animation was very smooth at times but not perfect throughout the anime. The music and sounds in the anime were lively and pleasing. I will highly recommend it if you are into classical pieces
