I like Trigger (Kill la Kill, Luluco, DitF) more than Gainax (TTGL)
Fine no more strippers for now
It's been a while but from what I remember we were joking about the personal stuff right? I forget what our tone was with that
Anyway, just in case we weren't joking, I apologize for the crassness. Toilet jokes are gross and me not liking them is a big reason why I don't care for Gintama as much as other people
I'll talk about the Licorice Pizza a bit later lol, I'm a bit busy these few days.
For the recommendation part, have you watched Everything Everywhere All at Once? Been trying to get a movie ticket to one of the showings but my schedule is so packed, lol.
I have watched both SSSS shows. Gridman is better than Dynazenon
The stars there hide the real comedy
LMAOOOOOOOOOO
This man... Is ridiculously attractive
I see why you guys like strippers now
tbh idk anything about proxy, don't take my word for it, I just want you to watch lain), and lain is more about networking. Lains a thriller and proxy is boring and deep( as far as I know from "sources"). Lains pretty cool, to get you to watch it I'll even say its funny.
LMAOOO THIS WHOLE PARAGRAPH HAD ME DYINGGGG
Cant' wait to watch the renowned comedy Lain
Except, it's not even in your favourites...
But for real, it's become one of my favourite anime of the last 6 years or so. I'd probably make a review of it, it left quite a deep impression on me. I might ask for some of your opinions on the review lol.
> Don't forget the sublime(I picked up that word from Maximus lol. I can't talk to him freely like with others) animation! It's literally Made in abyss minus penis mutilations.
Sorry for the late reply again lol. Glad you were doing okay and hope it's in-person again.
Yeah, Castle in the Sky was unique for what it did. I still felt like they were characterized very strongly and the plot armor too was funny lol but yeah definitely better than traditional kid MCs. I noticed the tropes but overall it's all good.
Lol I watched a lot of stuff I like. My new favorites now are Saiki K. and Kotaro Lives Alone. I rewatched Nozaki-kun and loved the way the dub made Nozaki ace instead of a dense idiot, and I fell in love with the way they did In This Corner of the World. I even rewatched Sonny Boy and really enjoyed it. This spring season is also looking really good with the Executioner Isekai and Ya Boy Kongming lol.
I changed my username from IshigamiCrisis to Space_Boyfriend cause I finished Omori (which is my favorite ever game, 9/10), I got banned for like 1.5 days cause I got caught using alts (I understand if you lost respect for me, but hopefully we can still be friends and chat) and 28/33 of my reviews got nuked by mods lol. A lot has happened. I was actually really scared to lose my contacts and you were one of them. In case I ever get banned again, do you wanna exchange Discords? I'll PM you~ Here's my Twitter thread if you want to see what I have to say more in-depth: https://twitter.com/IshigamiCrisis/status/1509054194665238531?s=20&t=K2eocDv9tlFD-m5fBnnN4g
Sorry for like the monthly reply, lol. I was actually trying to read Finnegans Wake, but turns out I tend to overestimate myself. I thought I could finish like 25 pages at least, but turns out I gave up at 5, lmao. For Shakespeare, I think I love his sonnets? His sonnets are just so lucid to read. Have you done group reads with other people before?
I'm currently on-hold for W&P right now, not that it's boring, but I'm trying to find some other things to read as well. Picked up a few books that I thought was absolutely extraordinary. Snow Country is a novel by the japanese author Yasunari Kawabata, he's a Nobel laureate, and one of the finest of his generation. I think you could give it a read, it's super short yet the text is incredibly poetic without using any kind of ten-dollar words, lol. I mean, these titles are not that hard to find though, you could dig through those Wikipedia pages of Nobel Prize for Lit or some director's top ten list and you can find plenty of those things.
Kubrick is a superb director but obviously a terrible person, lol. Have you been watching/reading/doing anything recently?
I finished Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata over the weekend. It's a very powerful story in my opinion, the poetic texture of the text is something to pine for! Sadly, I'm only halfway through Women In the Dunes for my record of watching movies, maybe the lack of motivation didn't help that much either, lol.
A little spoiler here, lol. Godfather II is in no way a rise, you'd have to watch that to find out. I don't know if I'd agree with the Barry Lyndon comparison, something I found troublesome within Kubrick despite his mindblowing cinematography and directing, is his distant feeling, the lack of emotion in the movie. Lol, Pauline Kael and Ebert complained about this movie of this having not enough emotion to support the mind-breakingly beautiful shots we have in the movie. Tragedies are easily superior to other theatrical forms I would agree with that, not going to lie, it's usually the tragedies that stuck with me longer than other movies. Other than having the best cast, The Godfather's OSTs are perhaps one of the greatest I've ever listened to! The movie is also re-releasing for its 50th anniversary in all theatres around the world, but I doubt I'd have the chance of watching it considering my local cinema is known for its stupid picks, haha.
Anyways, you could reach me at Discord if you want to by the way. I'm a little too tense on here, for some weird reason, lol.

Rakugo is probably the best anime around the span of these 5 years, I think. It's pretty much indisputably great. Have you watched it?
🤨🤨

This character was a main inspiration for Asuka. Yes, I'm dead serious.
