As someone who has never been to Japan, and has had relatively few encounters with anyone of Japanese descent, I know that my opinion on this is of little consequence, but I feel that I must put it out there. This show is a work of art, plain and simple. The slight nods towards the effect that the atomic bombing had on Japan were harrowing and, I can't stress this part enough, necessary. For us consumers of anime from outside of Japan, we cannot fathom the daily reminders as to the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagisaki, and more than anything, it is a pattern amongst
