Introduction
Having just finished this Anime, I am erm, how should I say...rather suprised, scrap that...I'm impressed. I will infact be reviewing this based on the Anime, and the Anime alone. So if you like to discriminate your Anime based on reading before hand, try another review.
Story
In a nut shell, without giving anything away...as stereotypical as this may or may not sound, Shiki, an average high school student gets his world completely dislocated by a female vampire he meets one day (I won't reveal how they met).
Although this may seem rather mainstream at first, it's fairly far from it. More often than not I sit
...
watching an anime thinking, "Oh I've seen this kind of thing in an Anime before" (Regarding story). Such as Shakugan no Shana, Inuyasha and Claymore for example, boy/girl meets a member of the opposite gender who is somewhat useless and they gradually become friends, I mean, although I like the Anime I mentioned it really has to be said that some Anime can be really predictable when you can watch a new anime and say, "The heroine they JUST met will burst through the roof to save them ANY second NOW", and it actually happens.
Tsukihime was not one of these Anime for me. It has a very good amount of unique ideas that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Right up until the very last 10 seconds I had no idea how the Anime was going to finish, but surely enough, it did, and beautifully.
Art
The art from this Anime? It was a dark and mysterious style to match the mood of the Anime, I watched this in 480p stretched onto a full 1080p monitor (52 inch) and was not disappointed by the quality of the art. I think this speaks for itself when I usually watch Blue Rays in 720p/1080p of Anime. The way characters and scenery was drawn was amazing some scenes we're very beautiful.
Sound
I am one of those people who believe sound can make or break an Anime, it's a very important part of watching a show instead of reading it for me, as it adds to tension or relaxation. It indiscriminately sets the mood regardless of what is happening, providing it is done well. The question is did Tsukihime do it well?
To be completely honest I was a little unsure about the OP because I don't think I can name another Anime that doesn't contain any vocals, However, the OP did grow on me the more I watched, as I started to see how well the piece matched the Anime overall. Same can be said for the EP, BGM and Voice Acting.
The English Dub wasn't bad if you like VERY formal English. (Which pretty much nobody uses nowadays.) I watched 99% of this Anime English subbed with Japanese voices. As I found the formal English irritating (even if the acting was good).
Character
I find all the characters to be portrayed very well. The development is excellent, you really get to understand the characters which seem confusing and somewhat irrational towards the first half of the Anime, the 3/4 of the Anime in the case of some characters).
Enjoyment
I thoroughly enjoyed this and will definitely be watching this again at some point, I don't usually read but this Anime may actually have made it to my Manga list, Which will make it around the 5th Anime, Among Elfen Lied
Overall
To sum it up this is an adventure of Vampires, Misfortunes and Supernatural twists, very exciting til the very end, if you're not looking for Supernatural twists this is definitely an Anime worth considering. If I had to compare it to anything I would say "If you like Kara no Kyoukai, then you HAVE to watch this".

Story
What we basically got here is immortal people and a nice evil plot for someone "eating memories". The story seems rather original and fits nicely into just 6 45 minute episodes. We have our fair share of action and gore in this also. The ending was far from disappointing and really enjoyable. Although I somehow don't feel as this deserves a 10 and not sure why, maybe theres something missing ^^ Oh! And theres a few nice twists ;)
Art
I liked the art in this anime it matched well with the genre and the effects we're cool. It could've been better but it was nice to
...
watch.
Sound
I don't think everyone will enjoy the OP and EP. But I loved the music and sound effects through out this anime so I'm going to have to rate it 9 out of 10.
Character
The characters seemed rather in depth and backed up by great voice acting and watching how the characters develop through out the anime was interesting.
Enjoyment
I really enjoyed watching this and the sex-content wasn't too heavy. I wouldn't class this in with hentai because it wasn't over the top. It was a nice action fantasy with some cruel content and sex. If i was to relate this to any anime...I would say...a modified version of elfen lied with less romance / emotivness and added sex.

Introduction
I feel as if i wasted 2 hour of my life watching this but I will try to review it fairly...
Story
Ok, it wasn't too slow moving and it wasn't too quick, bonus points for rating. It had a nice sort of nature vs ironforge vs empire sort of story. It wasn't simply good vs evil, nature and ironforge both had their fair points to war, bonus points. The princes adventure... fair story... But I think the biggest let down was my expectations of the whole..."The Star Wars of animated features" and besides that the cool action sort of action style cover...yea...I can no't recall more
...
than 30 seconsd (out of 2 hours 14 minutes) of decent action footage, nothing worth remembering except when he was first cursed and his first fight scene. Being generous because it was a decent fantasy adventure anime... 7 out of 10. Oh and for the record, my opinion, this was more like lord of the rings without as much action.
Art
The art was nice and a few nice scenes, animated well but could've been better 9 out of 10.
Sound
The sound went well with the movie although I feel the music could've been mor emotive it was a slight let down...compared to some anime i've seen this anime made me feel emotionless except for the kawaii wolf girlie <3
Characters
Ok well I think this is the one section that shines out on the anime as a whole, the character development seemed well done and they came along way to become slightly different people by the end of the anime. Yet again for a fantasy adventure i think this should've been a little more emotive...there was a possible love relationship going on too which could've added a little more depth to the characters overall effect on the anime.
Enjoyment
I enjoyed what was happenning but when it ended it all hit me like...wtf did i just watch? That was meant to be an animated star wars equivilent? NO WAY!!!
Overall
Looking for a good action flick? Go to TOKKO, FF Advent children, or Sword of the stranger because you will be greatly dissapointed here.
Fantasy Adventure fans? I don't think you should miss this providing you don't expect it to be any comparison to star wars...on the whole ill give it a 7 out of 10.

Introduction
This is the third time I've given an anime a straight 10. I tried for about 5 minutes even flicking back through the film, and I honestly can't find anything wrong with it. So here it goes.
Story
This to me was a pretty original story I can't think of anything that has this kind of story to it although I havn't seen every anime, this story line is far from common. At the beginning it starts like a normal adventure anime, a boy trying to find his way. Then he meets up with a Samurai (whose past I won't give away) They basically travel together
...
for reasons I won't mention to safely take this boy to where he needs to be but theres one set of people trying to stop them. On top of this when he arrives everything isn't quite what he seemed and so it continues.
Art
The animation in this was very nice there was alot going on in the anime and I think it was all captured beautifully, fast fight scenes also with a dash of gore...stunning.
Sound
The closest thing I can think of the sound for this...is a masterpiece, to me it was like The Last Samurai... not because of the music but for how well it captured the escence of everything in the anime and how the samurai nature and ancient japan was perceived, very oriental also.
Character
The characters in this anime went through alot and you could see how their personalities was changing as events was hapenning. You see the main character develop alot through out the anime.
Enjoyment
Well as the third anime I've rated a straight 10 10 10 10 10 10. I think that answers this section.
I recommend this to anyone that fits into ANY of these catagories;
Action, Samurai, Adventure, Blood and Gore. ENJOY!

Introduction
Firstly I'd like to say i read some other reviews and this is a very varied anime. (I have finished this anime before reviewing) It's like marmite / veggie mite lol You love it or hate it.
Story
While watching this I was always wondering what was going to happen next, have seen alot of horrors / slash 'em up movies and anime, I wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen through this. There was various suprising moments through-out the entire anime. The idea of demons trying to kill humans isn't as simple as it goes, that is just the impression you get at the start
...
but there's a little more to it than that. Alchemists summoned the demons for certain reasons (I'll try not to give anything away to spoil the plot) Anyway theres a few twists and turns there was alot i didn't expect to happen that did. Yes, it could have been better, the ending was a little rapid and maybe it should've been 14 episodes, but this is the reason i don't make 10 out of 10 and only 8. It felt somewhat slightly rushed on the last episode, but I still enjoyed it.
Art
The art was somewhat different to other anime, it could be related to elfen lied in some ways, but in others it's nothing like it. The blood and gore was well drawn as was some of the characters, it was simple in alot of places yet effective but nothing special, so although I really like this anime I will have to mark this as just a 7.
Sounds
I don't know how anyone can say there was no ambience in this...it was full of it. I guess if you're not enjoying the anime you won't pay attention to little things like this. There wasn't a whole lot of BGM but the OP was nice and the EP was not too bad. Remember this section is about SOUND not just MUSIC though. The sound went well with the series although maybe they could've added a LITTLE bit more music. The sound of death, gore spilling, OP, EP, music in some places, ambience reverb effects, this HAS sound, just not a great deal of music or if there was I didn't notice too much of it. But what i heard was nice...7 out of 10.
Characters
I remember reading before about character's having limited emotions. But I think people forget one thing...from what happened in the story the characters was trying to make themself strong I don't think they would show much emotion after having been traumatised from the event that happened. I think people expect too much in certain circumstances instead of thinking about how they would really act in certain situations. I'm giving this a 8 out of 10 because the characters represented themselves well and I really don't think I'd act any different given the same situation, I think it would be hard to show anymore on character development because you had someone who rarely talked, to having convosations because of how someone effected her. If you really take a step back and look at this, theres alot to the majority of the characters.
Enjoyment
I may watch this again...I think I probabaly will. It was nice to watch, it was entertaining, blood gore, character development, not to the extent of elfen lied but it was good! 7 out of 10!

This anime just gets better and better - I can't wait for the next movie!!!
Story
Okay episoded 1....confusing...episoded 2...confusing stuff was explained...now finally episode 3...OMG this episode was seriously amazing and I just keep rating each episode higher and higher one way or another, mae sure you watch the previous two before watching this anime though.
Art and Sound
(Same as 1 and 2) The art work and sound doesnt lack at all from the previous installments :D
Character
Little more character development I slowly feel myself starting to know who the characters are we get further through the anime, it's nice watching them develop and wondering where they may
...
end up by the end of the 7 movies.
Enjoyment
OMG WTF im so disapointed that number 4 isnt out yet T_T This episode was so freaking cool.
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS SERIES!

[B]Intro
Ok having have the hell confused out of my brain, In my opinion this series totally redeemed itself and brought a fantastic come back with number 2 in the series. Here it goes...
Story
The story was great and has a nice but unexpected link with the first movie which was the murder mysteries. This episode also explained more about the characters and even answered questions that confused me in the first installment. Looking at it from a periodical point of view this episode SHOULD have been before the first movie to avoid confusiion but having watch the next few episodes maybe there will be a reason
...
why. 9 out of 10 for story I just couldn't bring myself to put this at the same mark as my favourite anime. But it's still great, 8 would be way too low =]
Art
The art was just as good as the first and just as bloody. I enjoyed looking at the art in this one alot more too because i was rattling my brain with questions that was never answered.
Sound
The music as with the first installment went really well and made this so much mor enjoyable.
Character
AH! The redemption of confusing that the first installment gave...characters we're pretty much explained and it doesnt only talk about the characters pasts, it takes us back to witness it in a full hour episode by jumping back in the episode timeline! Which i think it a great addition, but hey it worked with star wars, why not here?
Enjoyment
This is a really good anime so far. At first episode confusing then a HUGE redemption. I hope this to get even better and I think i will probabaly watch this series again sometime if it stays as good as this episode was. And if it gets better hey! Might even find some of the episodes up with my favourite anime! Although I only rated this an 8 it's still growing on me from the prequels failure to satisfy my anime requirements, lol!
ENJOY! worth the watch!

Introduction
I actually discovered this anime from playing the playstation game years ago and searched it by chance. I was not disapointed with this being one of my favourite fighting games.
Story
Following two friends who go their seperate ways Burn promises himself to save Keith. This unravels quickly as it is only a 2 episode series and in addition to this you find out their histories an a little bit about the characters. Theres a little twist or two in there also and I was interested right until the end.
Art
The art in this is slightly above average I think but nothing special it's not hard to
...
watch through til the end at all - But could be better.
Sound
The OP and EP I enjoyed I listened to them through and thought it was a nice song =] As for the BGM it went nicely with what was happening at the time and helped add to the atmosphere of the anime.
Character
The characters as a I said before you found out a decent amount about them considering it was a 2 episode anime. There was a fair amount going on for just two episodes and I think this is one of the strong points of the anime. Telling you about the characters pasts, talking about the future intentions, motives and how they feel about things was visible through the anime on a handful of characters which I think was nice for such a short anime.
Enjoyment
I really enjoyed this with it being one of my favourite fighting games of past times and I'll probabaly watch it again sometime. I think its definately worth the watch for the sake of an hour even if your not a fan. Providing your into the magic casting action, few gory scenes too =]

Introduction
First I want to start of by saying this really confused me and I'm still not 100 percent sure what happened but I will give my opinion here with reasons.
Story
Ok, so we have cops, death - suicides, supernatural beings and it worked out decently but it left me really confused at the end. I have seen other reviews which state this is the first of seven movies in the series. So maybe this classed as just the prologue? Because I feel like there wasn't much given away...explainations below.
Art
But before I tell you about that we have art. The art was very nice in this anime
...
and I doubt you will be dissapointed. There was always alot going on in the background and the characters and scenary was well drawn.
Sound
The sound wasn't much worse than the art it has nice BGM and a good atmosphere through out the movie regarding music.
Character
Okay back to my confusion. After watching this I don't feel like I know much of anything about the characters nor what happened to them or where they came from etc etc all the works. The main character doesnt seem to be human and seems quite uptight...but has a soft side to her...even at that I'm just guessing...sorry but I could only give this a 6.
Enjoyment
Okay this was quite enjoyable but what let is down was that I was glued to the seat wanting to know more...and that time never came. As a standalone this would've got a 4-6 rating here but because I found out it's the first of 7 movies. I gave it a 7, under the condition that I will find out the answers I'm looking for in sequals. It wasn't treated as a cliff hanger...just unfinished. It's fustrating not knowing what exactly happened or who people are and how they can do certain things.
Overall
I'm not entirely sure about this like I've said before but giving a guesstimated average on story art sound character and enjoyment...congraulations kara no kyoukai...a 7 out of 10 overall for confusing me =]

Intro
First anime I have seen in a while and I was waiting to watch this for a long time. I was definately not disapointed. If you like Clannad or the whole harem slice of life scene - YOU MUST WATCH THIS.
Story
Ok starting off it's everything perfect and it's not long before you realise what's actually going on. The story was well written and the structure was pretty good also. I was impressed by the way this anime turned out, it was a little more detailed than I first thought it would be. The story has a bunch of suprises and kept me wanting to watch
...
the next episode constantly to find out what would happen next. Very enjoyable, 9!
Art
The art work that went into this was nothing special I don't think you should watch this just because of the animation. Although I thought it was well drawn and very nice to look it, it was still nothing special, but because i enjoyed it I give it a nice fair 7 =]
Sound
Well it was partially the OP that got me hooked on wanting to watch this so I think it would be hypocritical for me to say the sound was bad. Although getting into the anime my opinion remained the same and I will try and get the OST after i finish writing this. Engouh said.
Character
OMG The characters in True Tears has a whole lot of depth and more. There was 4 Characters in particular that I feel as if I know well, 3 of which had decriptive pasts which were potrayed through out True Tears.
Enjoyment
Wahahaha All I can think of say here at the minute is that Im watching it again several times as i force my friends to watch it haha
Overall
If you like either school girl anime, harem, slice of life or romance. WATCH THIS NOW, OR YOUR MISSING OUT BIIIIIIG!!!
