I hope and pray the newest staff knows what they are doing. It seems like they are doing fine, but they need to release chapters more often or we won't see the ending for another 15 years.

2 Black Clover Publishing
This is what I thought Naruto would be like, hype fights, great art, funny but generic comedy, and NO substance whatsoever. Asta is literally just, "I'm the main character so I will win! And so will my friends!" incarnate. Still fun as hell to read, even if the ending is gonna be dogshit LMAO.

This series is potential incarnate. Funniest manga I've read, one of the best looking, some of the best characters, and a love triangle that doesn't annoy me. Genuinely the potential to become one of the greatest manga of all time. Let's pray the author keeps up the quality.

5 One Piece Publishing
As I've read I've slowly come to terms with how good One Piece is. I still prefer Bleach and Steel Ball Run, but only because of length. One Piece starts off mediocre and doesn't become genuinely good until they reach Drum Island. It still has ups and downs after that point, but Marineford, Water 7, Enies Lobby and the last half of Skypeia all make up for the cons.

8 Vinland Saga Publishing
Vinland Saga was 9/10 material from the beginning, but the slow pacing of the last 20-30 chapters had made me begin to think the author had become too attached to his story to give it the proper send off. However, with the latest developments, my trust in the author has been restored. It'd be really hard for him to fuck this ending up, but I said that about Attack on Titan so I'm not gonna get my hopes up TOO high.

9 20th Century Boys
20th Century Boys is Urasawa's best plot, held back by an abrupt and strangely underwhelming ending. Yet it leaves all but one stone unturned, resolving everything with the exception of the main characters opinions of the actions of his daughter.

This manga is Blame! with more tell, more show, and just a teensy bit more character development, but that's all that was needed to put it in my top 10 manga.

11 Akumetsu
This story is really weird, filled with plenty of twists, shocks, and emotional moments, yet it falls flat for two reasons. The HEAVY political messages, mainly grounded in Japanese politics, and an ending that doesn't quite make any sense. If I lived in Japan for the past 25-30 years, this manga might be one of my favorites, but with an underwhelming ending, and a slow moving plot due to unending dialogue, the 10/10 potential is bogged down.

12 Blame!
Blame! is by far one of the best examples of show don't tell I've seen in a series, but that's not to say it's not nigh incomprehensible. With an unbelievably creative premise, a story fleshed out and finalized in the authors mind from the moment pen hit paper on chapter 1's production, this manga excels in every way except characters. The characters are alright, but lack depth. That hardly matters when the art, plot, world, and overall premise is absolutely awe-inspiring. If it told a little more than showed, then it'd be an easy 10, but alas nothing is perfect.

13 Bleach
Bleach is strange, because on one hand you'll be reading it and thinking to yourself, "This is just kinda eh," to "Fuck this sucks," and finally to "This is the BEST plot in the Big Three!" Bleach's plot and characters are so ingrained into each other, both of which having little to no flaw (until the last 50 chapters), that it's hard to believe people find Naruto to be better. It just has too many fights between characters I do NOT give a FUCK about. It's the definition of oversaturation.

14 Bokurano
This shit is just painful man, this series perfectly captures the hardships modern children in overly developed countries can go through, no matter how extreme. It never fails to make you not want to keep reading out of the sheer horrid lives these kids were forced to live, just to force them to fight for humankind, something they've felt abandoned by for so long. 10/10 if it weren't for how much of these hardships it shows, some of it is too much for me man.

16 Death Note
Death Note, on paper, can never reach 10/10 status, simply because the over the top dramatic mind bending battles between two people so smart they'd make Einstein look like a baby needs more than words and drawings on a page. Despite the last half easily surpassing the anime, the anime takes the first half of Death Note, makes it an 11 out of 10, then adds anime only scenes to make the craziest twist even more of a gut punch. The manga has a better ending sure, but it lacks the weight.

17 Dorohedoro
Dorohedoro is Attack on Titan if Attack on Titan was a comedy about drug trade, hatred, and of course gyoza. Characters are well written, funny, and always changing, the story always hits you with new shit, almost always teased dozens if not a hundred chapters beforehand, and the only thing holding it back is the utterly strange and unforgiving fanservice.

18 Dragon Ball
I would like to express how my opinion differs between what is considered OG Dragon Ball, and DBZ, as they are quite different, in both tone and progression. The original DB is just alright, a solid 5-6 out of 10, but DBZ takes the groundwork laid by DB and succeeds in making the most two dimensional characters genuinely interesting and establishes a connection between them and the reader. Impressive considering how little thought goes into the story. DBZ is a 7/10.

Gantz without the weird sex shit and the straight porn on the chapter covers is the best story ever written, with the best characters and motivations and fucking everything ever of all time, but then you change the page and you're met with a girl spread eagle butt naked ready to take it. Never before have I gotten whiplash by just turning a page. Beyond that complaint, this is THE best redemption story I have EVER read. No main character has ever improved this much as a person.

All of the recent complaints with this series are unfounded, just a vocal majority of midwits with no thought behind their eyes besides "please me Gege! give me more daddy characters to thirst over!" Everyone lacks any concept of how stories are written then talks like they do. Let it play out, I promise it won't be as bad as Bleach's ending was, it definitely will end up better than AoT's. Just be patient. EDIT: I WANT TO KILL MYSELF!!!!

29 Monster
20th Century Boys level plot, Trigun level characters, amazingly consistent art, and an unrelenting question of right and wrong. Everything I could ask for. Even the characters are phenomenal. If you think this story is any less than a 9/10, you weren't reading for anything more than your personal enjoyment. I beg of you to take the things you read seriously, not doing so is a disservice to the author and the effort they put into stories like this.

30 Naruto
Naruto does a fantastic job doing the bare minimum, to the point where it is almost as impressive as if it had a story on the level of Monster or Attack on Titan. Characters are the highlight, and I'm a sucker for character writing. World building is great, just wish there was more of a continuous direction with the story, so it was less of a question of what's next, and more of a chance to theory craft what could happen next while reading. Even Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen have that, whether their plots are flawed or not.

32 Shaman King
I usually hate to describe something in this way, but Shaman King is the definition of missed potential. Every early chapter SEEMED like it was gonna set up something meaningful, but it ended up falling flat when the only meaningful event that happened, beyond bare minimum character backstory, was the ending fight. Even then they decide to end that fight with THE LITERAL POWER OF FRIENDSHIP! Not my fault that the series kinda sucks.

33 Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul is an amazing first half to a series, setting up characters, plot, and world for the finale of a sequel that hadn't even started production. It's character's endeavors are meaningful, heart wrenching, and overall never fail to surprise. Only complaint is that some characters are just never given enough time to develop before they're killed off, a sad byproduct of the world that's been created.

35 Trigun
A great comedic start to a series, yet held back by a climax with little to no build up. If this had just one more volume it could easily be an 8 or 9, but alas the manga industry does not care, and the magazine was cancelled anyhow. If you read this and it leave you feeling underwhelmed, trust me when I say that the continuation, Trigun Maximum, probably won't.

I am still yet to decide if this is here because of personal bias or not, but my love for character writing absolutely carries this story for me. Vash, Wolfwood, Livio, Knives, Legato. All 5 of these characters are my favorite characters in any story ever. They represent all the worst of the human condition, showing our naïve beliefs, our willingness to give up, our hatred towards others, and the harsh reality of the world we inhabit.

If Promised Neverland kept up the quality and tone of the first half of the story throughout, it'd be amazing! You can tell I like to think about what could have been. Shame that it becomes a little too naïve at the end, but the message of a story doesn't make or break it, still a great read.
