Short, grimdark, and brutal yet has an amazing sense of spectacle that truly pumps up the adrenaline. A serious work of art that discovers the duality between Okita and Nobu efficiently without being too serious about it. A unique and charming cast of characters that have their effectively disturbing and/or endearing moments. Okita Souji is an amazing female lead and she might be my favorite Saberface of all time.

短く、重苦しく、残酷でありながら、アドレナリンがほとばしるようなスペクタクル感が素晴らしい。沖田とノブの二面性を、深刻になりすぎずに効率的に発見するシリアスな作品。個性的で魅力的なキャラクターたちが、効果的に不穏な瞬間や愛らしい瞬間を演出する。沖田総司は素晴らしい女性主人公で、私が最も好きなセイバーフェイスかもしれない。

And here, they told me that My Hero Academia was better in the manga... Boy, I would have been more alerted if not for the fact that it constantly retains the same fucking problems as it had before while having one of the shittiest endings on top of it. It's always a series that doesn't understand what story, characters, or simplicity mean. It tries way too hard to stand out from typical Battle Shounen but keeps its plot going by shoving in dry-ass humor and elements of surprises that are way too rushed for their own good. Won't be surprised if the anime also included that low bar of a "conclusion" for giggles.

そしてここで、『僕のヒーローアカデミア』は漫画の方が良かったと言われた...。少年よ、もしこの作品が以前と同じクソ問題を常に抱えながら、その上最低の結末を迎えているという事実がなければ、私はもっと警戒していただろう。このシリーズはいつも、ストーリー、キャラクター、シンプルさの意味を理解していない。典型的なバトル少年漫画から抜きん出ようとしすぎているが、ドライなユーモアや、急ぎすぎのサプライズ要素を押し込むことで、プロットを進行させている。アニメもまた、笑いを取るためにあの低レベルな「結末」を盛り込んだとしても驚かないだろう。
