It was good. Not great, not bad. Just good.

The problem comes when you see that the entire story of Majora's Mask is in one volume. Simply put, you cannot fit the story of Majora's Mask into one volume. Majora's Mask has so many more undertones that any other Zelda game, and it's hard to truly do the game justice. It can be done, but certainly not in one volume.

This was the manga's only flaw, and a lot of the game's side-stories suffer because of it.

If you are a Zelda fan, you will probably enjoy it. Just don't go in having high expectations.

I honestly didn't like the manga that much.
It was decent enough for me to not completely kill myself trying to get through it, but it really wasn't all that great.
The story was definitely lacking.
I've played through the game a few times and even I kept getting confused as I read it.
Plus it moved way too fast; the characters weren't developed at all and everything was really rushed.
I did enjoy the Kafei and Anju bit, but even that wasn't amazing.
Overall, I suppose it's worth reading if you really want to read all the Zelda manga, or if you're a diehard Zelda fan that's looking to be ... disappointed.
If you're looking for something really good, I wouldn't recommend this.

This manga adaptation of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is a dumbed down and dull retelling of the events that occurred in the video game.

The story is incredibly shortened, and in a lot of ways censored. Link will go from place to place, introducing characters which are then tossed to the curb in the exact same chapter. The time Link spends freeing the giants feels so horribly rushed, even though it's supposedly the main goal in the story. They especially did Twinmold dirty, not even really getting his own chapter and barely getting two pages worth of time, which is an odd pacing choice, ... considering how much time all of the other giants got. The only slight silver lining is the ending was pretty solid, nothing special. I definitely don't think the manga earned it's heartfelt ending, but it was endearing enough. 3/10

The characters are a complete disappointment. The character I enjoyed the most was Tatl, and that can't be a good thing since she's supposed to be the annoying one. The Happy Mask Salesman was delightfully creepy, and I enjoyed Link. The only other characters I can give the nod to are Anju and Kafei. Their relationship was sweet, but didn't need to be stretched as long as it was. In any case, the rest of the characters were either horribly rushed or just glossed over. Skull Kid had the time to win me over, but something about his presentation in the manga didn't really work. Maybe it's the fact that he's completely absent from the middle of the story. Speaking of which, the middle of the story is where it truly suffers. You meet all these characters that live in the different locations of Termina. In the video game, these characters are grounded and really make you care about them, but in the manga, they're all just plot devices, missing all the nuance of the video game. "Missing nuance" is the best way to describe the vast majority of these characters. 4/10

The art is all well done. Most characters have a somewhat cutesy style which is nice, but I think it would've been really powerful if contrasted by the dreadful tones found in the video game. Even without that, however, everything looks just right visually. I do have to say that sometimes it is incredibly difficult to understand what's going on. Panels can be cluttered with characters preforming these complicated actions that have a good opportunity to go right over the reader's head. 7/10

Overall, this manga isn't abysmal. If you have zero access to the video game, but you have the manga, you'll be able to understand just enough to get a feel for the actual game. I'd say this is the more child-friendly version of Majora's Mask, but a child could easily get lost when the panels begin to get overloaded with information. Fans of Majora's Mask would be disappointed, so this manga is purely for people with a passing interest in The Legend of Zelda. You can pick it up, put it down, and move on. 6/10

This manga is amazing!

Being a manga adaptation of the video game, the violence has been toned down a lot so it can be considered the perfect starter manga for a little kid.

The art is really cute and fits well and I like how Link actually has dialogue instead of being a mute. Majora's mask is my favorite Zelda games and I love having this manga to enjoy the story when I'm unable to play the game.

After reading this I wanted to buy the box set.

If you're a huge Zelda fan, your favorite being Majora's mask, I can not reccomend this manga enough, ... it's a must read.

I'll give it an 8/10. I must say, for a manga based off of a 16 year old video game, it's quite outstanding. It's not simply trash like you would expect. The story had to be changed up a bit simply for the plot, but I'm not to picky about that stuff. It has amazing art in my opinion and really captures the personalities of the characters. It's a nice thing to know you own if you think about it, seeing as it might one day become a collectors item (I guess XD).


Don't have high expectations, but trust me on it, if you like ... the series you're almost sure to enjoy it at least a bit.

When I was reading it I got really annoyed by how different it was from the game, but it's still an okay manga. It is very rushed, it doesn't show any of the temples or anything, no Pirate's Fortress, Pinnacle Rock, there's absolutely nothing about Ikana and Stone Tower (which is my favorite part of the whole game) aside from a page of Link defeating Twinmold, the general placement of the bosses are all wrong too.
We can see clearly that this Manga should be twice as long at best. It's fine if you already know the game in its entirety and you're curious to see ... a different view of the game, but otherwise it just isn't that worth to read
