Wolf & Mary 野狼与玛莉 Review
Story (9/10) Great
The story is for Wolf and Mary starts of quite generic at first, MC wakes ups in a pool up blood, confused and surprised by what he's seen but then as he tries to remember what happens we get hit with a flashback. As you are you reading obviously one would stick around to see if this is any different from the countless of other stories in all forms of entertainment that start off like this. It's short and sweet and yes it does leave us on a cliff hanger and a giant one which is why I can't
give it a 10 but the ride for a 3 chapter manhua is outstandingly great.
Art (9/10) Great
The artist Chi Fai Tang he with the assistance of another great artist worked on my favorite Manhua of all time FSJ, I'm used to his art style it isn't the best I've ever seen but it's definitely great. He has two different versions of his art style the super serious amazing looking ones and the everyday-panel regular looking one. Like I said he's great I've obviously seen better but I give credit where credit it due and it's great enough said not even going to mention the fact that it's in full color which is a plus also.
Characters (10/10) Outstanding
The characters in W&M are outstanding as we get introduced to the MC who goes by the exact name as the Mangaka that wrote the 3 chapter manhua Zheng Jian He, it makes me wonder if the managaka acts exactly like the character in W&M. As he introduces his character he makes himself or should I say the character out to be your typical geek or is trying to make a manga (or should I say Manhua which is funny because on his computer we see FSJ which makes u wonder how much of this character is similar to the actual mangaka) and live his life with his GF on the side. I'm not going to talk about the other two mainly focused on characters in the Manhua because chapter 2 is basically focused on another on of them and his GF is basically there but is technically the character that gets the third most panel time. But just know they are all entertaining and I have to give it a 10 for this section.
One I'm glad I stuck around after the first couple pages hit me with such a generic introduction of a character waking up to basically a murder scene, because yes it is indeed only 3 chapters but each chapter was amazingly great making you really want to know what happens next. My enjoyment was through the roof this mangaka has my praise because this is 2 for 2. FSJ got me hooked and so did this this guy really knows how to keep the readers entertained.
More Specifically (9.50/10)
Wolf and Mary didn't blow my mind but it definitely outdid my expectations. Looking at the scores people where giving this I thought oh this just probably something Zheng Jian He wrote on the side and it's probably not all that good seeing that as far as the synopsis is concern it seemed like a generic introduction and it's only 3 chapters. And both of those are true but the execution is what this mangaka knows how to do well, that, characterization and entertainment he did it with FSJ (Feng Shen Ji) and he did it here. Man I hope this dude write some more stuff because like I said that's 2 for 2.
