Soul Catcher(S) and Shokugeki no Soma are shounen series that have similarity in terms of their competitive atmosphere. Both series takes place in a school life setting where the main character begins a journey. While their motivation and premise are dramatically different, the main character's spirit has a familiar feel. And as we learn more about the main characters, we also see the connections they establish that becomes important to the story.

Piano No Mori and Soul Catchers are both about moving people's hearts with music. The characters of both series are facing similar problems and share common feelings. There are also common scenes, such as the orchestras.

There isn't all that much similarity in story, but the two remind me of each other. Both have an mc that's brought into a group of prodigies for whatever their skill set is (cooking or music) and slowly gets them on his side with his unique way of thinking. They are both somewhat episodic, but still have a distinct storyline and sense of development.

Both main characters have a closed heart and are lonely from a special power they have that many others don't. I personally recommend anime over manga but that is just me.

Taking place in a school life setting, Soul Catcher(S) and Medaka Box develops their stories revolving around a group of characters with unusual talents. The main characters in particular has a caring personality and unusual power that sets them apart from others. Throughout both series, they get involved with events that conflicts with their ideals at school. Recommended for fans of shounen.

Bleach and Soul Cathcher(S), both are about guys who can see things, that other people can't and both aren't really happy about that. Art sometimes looks almost identical, except maybe hair. In Bleach it looks a little more windy, while in Soul Catcher(S) it looks more like a mosaic. Both trying to be really epic, in terms of atmosphere of the "battle".
