Count D has opened his petshop again, this time in Tokyo's Shinjuku!

For those who haven't read Petshop of Horrors, Count D's Petshop is a place where one can find animals from the most ordinary housepets to savage predators to mystical beasts that should belong only in legends. Customers often find that their new pets change their lives more than they expect, fulfilling their dreams, or realizing their nightmares.

If you liked Petshop of Horrors, then of course you are going to like this series. It is just as good as the original series, although with a few changes. This series doesn't have chapters similar to the original, where a person is given a pet and three rules.

As for characters, I will always love Count D. He really hasn't changed from Petshop of Horrors, cute but creepy at the same time. As for the new character who is trying to find out Count D's secret, Taizuu, he is pretty cool. Although he isn't quite as funny as Leon, Taizuu does have his moments.

Mixed Feelings
As a sequel to Petshop of Horrors, I was definitely expecting more of the same, what I got however was a pretty inferior series that felt lacking in comparison. The original series also had many subpar stories too but they all felt different from eachother in concept and tone, one could be a horror story, the next could be a romance, sometimes there were full-fledged adventures and sometimes it even got experimental and all had ironic twists of fate pulling from all kinds of cultures with an atmosphere and concepts that made it feel mystical.

Shin on the other hand delt like Matsuri Akino was ...
