Now to start of, since i give my (personal) scores solely based on my enjoyment, on my list this manga gets a 10, since him enjoying it that much. Since this is a review for everyone, i'll try to be more "formal" in a way.

Lets start with the story, the setting itself is almost cliché, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad, just rather overused, but then again, nowadays i find it almost impossible to have something original, theres just that much content. The plot is simple, vampires manipulate a virus that wipes out everyone who is 13 or older, our MC is a young ... boy who was under the age of 13, gets taken by the vampires to be a living blood bag, manages to escape eventually, gets all is friends wich were like family killed by the vampires during said escape and vows revenge. There are already some misteries developing that shall not be said here to keep it spoiler free, they seem rather interesting as of now. Now, even if revenge stories have been used alot, its still a solid way to tell a interesting story if done right, but since its overused i gave it a 7.

Moving on to the art, in all honesty its f*cking amazing. Aside from very well drawn characters, the backgrounds are amazing. Who can clearly tell what is going on during fights, wich is a big plus so you can actually understand what is going on. There is something rather wierd however, i dont know why but the MC is depicted with a green demonic sword and then a red demonic sword, so either the author decided to change colors or it was a mistake ? I dont really get it but its something so minor it can be ignored. Overall, i give it a solid 10.

Now we get to the characters... Its really hard to talk about characters without spoiling something, so i'll keep it brief.

The main character wants revenge on the vampires who took is family, he is obsessed with power in order to kill them. He is kind of a tsundered (yeah, male lead a tsundere ? i found that rather funny tbh.)

The main female lead is a teasing, playful high ranking officer of the milatary around the MC's age and his from the most powerful family in Japan (the current destroyed Japan, that is). She is a refreshing character, always with a smile, teasing our MC, they have some good interactions to be honest.

Other character come along the way but i'll leave them to you so you can find out for yourselvs. Overall i give the characters a 8.

Now, as stated before, my personal enjoyment of this series is a 10. Yes, the story is cliché and overused, but i like this kind of stories, the art is absolutely amazing, the characters are very well written and a breath of fresh air when compared to the overused stupid main lead and the tsundere female lead. I expect good things from this manga, since i've only read 18 chapters so far i still cannot say if its good or not, but i've enjoyed it so far and hope to read more.

Overall i give this series a score of 8, since the story is indeed overused and i dont believe it to have enough chapters to give it anything higher when speaking outside of my own personal opinion, in the end its up to the people to choose if they want to pick up this manga or not.

Okay this is the first time I've ever written a review so I'm not exactly sure what to say but here goes nothing.

So first off, the story. I gave it an 8 cause the story really got me hooked up after chapter 15 and it's going on great. I'm not gonna go any further into the contents cause I might spoil you, BUT... The introduction, the "premise", however, is indeed overused, which was a bit of a turndown for me at first, but the story behind it is a lot more original and mysterious than I anticipated, I REALLY enjoyed the mysteries and the twisted-ness ... (not sure if that's a word) in it cause I love making theories and discussing them with others, but maybe that's just me. That being said, I'm also into the idea of their weapons so there's that.

The art though, absolutely amazing. The volume covers and the shadings are breathtaking, the backgrounds are super detailed and the characters are very well-drawn too, I really like how they are so expressive most of the time. I mean, kudos to Yamamoto cause he's one heck of a manga artist.

What's really nice about this manga is that the characters are so well-developed. Most of them have great developments as the story goes, especially the main character since he kind of starts off as this very typical shounen manga protagonist. I also like the fact that most girls in this manga are strong and independent, but also sensitive cause I was getting sick of the crying-whining clingy type in lots of shounens.

So overall I really enjoyed it, there were moments that made me laugh, I did not find it "predictable" cause I came in the manga having no clue on what was to happen and though the story starts off cliché and all but I think if you give it about 19 chapters, you'll enjoy it just as much as I did.

One day a mysterious virus appeared on the Earth and killed almost everyone. Only under the 13 years old children could survive, but then the vampires appeared and they made every children their livestock.

Story: 9/10

This story follows Hyakuya Yuuichirou life after he successfully escaped from the vampires and he was taken to the human's city where he realized that the vampires were lying to him. He joined the Japanese Imperial Demon Army to become strong for his revenge which is to kill every vampire who killed his family.

Art: 9/10

Yamamoto Yamato did a really good job with the art. We ... can clearly see the character acts and it has also very good quality. There nothing else to say, it's just good.

Charachters: 9/10

Yuuichirou: He doesn't have friends because he is afraid that if he ever gets close to someone again he will feel pain again. After he finds some friend he always tries to act who don't care them but in the end he always helps with their problems. It is said that he is an idiot by many of his fellows but they all respect his strength.

Mikaela: He is Yuu's family.He is very smart and he was the one who planned their escape from the vampires but everyone died expect for himself and Yuu. Although Yuu thinks that Mika died he was actually turned into a vampire against his will.

Guren: He is the man who found Yuu after escaping from the vampire city.
His fellows said that he always been childish.
He is lazy, he all the time try to ignore his duties with a reason like sleeping.
In my opinion his personality is similar to Yuu.
Although he sometimes act childish he is a really strong demon soldier, maybe the strongest and when it comes to fight he becomes very serious and he would do anything for his squad.

Shinoa: She was appointed as his supervisor when she first met Yuu during his punishment. She has a sarcastic attitude and she not really shows his emotions. She likes to tease everybody even if it's her superior. Later she will be the leader of Yuu's squad.

Mitsuba: She is also member of the Shinoa squad. She dislikes those who break the formation and commit to individual action because in the past because of her she lost a fellow. She is very talkative and also likes to tease others with Shinoa.

Kimizuki. He is member of the Shinoa squad. He joined the army beacuse of her sister's condition. He always compete with Yuu and he has a strong personality. He is very good in the school and he is good cook. He is also very serious and he loves giving orders to the others.

Yoichi: The last member of the Shinoa squad. He says that he joined the Army because he wanted to avenge his sister. He is described as a coward by the others but it's later found out that he is very talented at the demon weapons.

Enjoyment: 9/10

I really enjoyed it and i am looking forward for the next chapters. It has a lot of actions and a lot of feelings too. It's draw attention for the family and shows us how important it actually is.

Overall: 9/10

It is a really good manga and if you have some free time just watch it you will not regret it. You will have a great time reading this and you will laugh and have all the thrill during the fight waiting for the actions to found out what will happen. ( actually i am not really sure if this sentence makes any sense..:D ) So yeah give it a try and send me your thought about this review.

Owari no Seraph, or Seraph of the End.
Honestly, I was brought here by Mokushiroku Alice, seeing that the plot authors are the same.
Story- 8
The story is where most people lose interest. Honestly, that's to be expected.
The Apocalypse Virus appeared, wiping out almost all human adults. As if that wasn't enough, Vampires came from the shadows, enslaving the remaining humans.
Meet Yuu, a boy who dreams of killing every vampire.
The series gets into the main story pretty quickly. Very quickly, his mindless bloodlust
turns to a need for revenge. Honestly, it's a lot like Attack on Titan, but at the same time, very different.
Art- 9
The art ... is amazing. The characters movements are clear, every panel is clean and tidy, and the action sequences are jaw-dropping. It also boasts some pretty damn good backgrounds.
Characters- 8
The characters all have their own reasons for fighting.
Yuu, who is one of the most powerful characters, which is hinted to be the results of human experimentation, wants revenge.
One of the others simply wants money.
Others want to save the world.
The characters are pretty decent, at least enough to keep the majority of readers engaged throughout the story.
Enjoyment- 9
I really, really enjoyed this. The only thing that it's really missing, to me, is a bit of originality. It fit 2 generic tropes into one series:
Virus that almost kills everyone
Supernatural species that enslaved everyone.
But, it's a good read all the same.
Overall 8.5

I ran across this title while browsing Books A Million for a new series. At first, I was sure I was going to buy Shokugeki no Soma, but Seraph caught my eye and I decided to take a chance on it. I'm glad I did.

[WARNING: SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD]

STORY- 8/10

First of all, I know this manga is cliched as all hell. In fact, it reminds me of what would happen if you tossed the characters from Blue Exorcist into the world of Attack on Titan. However, cliche doesn't necessarily mean bad. Cliche works if the story can be pulled off ... well, and Seraph does just that.

From the start, the plot looks like your standard shonen: following a catastrophic plague thirteen years ago, vampires emerged to enslave most of what was left of humanity, including our orphan protagonist, Yuichiro, and the others from the same orphanage. They decide to escape the vampires, but all of the children are killed except for our hero. After making it to the safety of the Japanese remnants walled in Shibuya, Tokyo, Yuichiro vows to join the elite force of the humans, the Moon Demon Company, and kill all vampires for revenge. Relatively straightforward, right? Wrong!

In my opinion, one of the hallmarks of great postapocalyptic stories like The Walking Dead and the aforementioned SnK is moral ambiguity: the "heroic" side might be just as bad as the "villains". As of this review, (vol 4/ch 15), there have been no outright evil actions by the humans to confirm this, but there is quite a bit of foreshadowing suggesting that maybe the Imperial Japanese Demon Army aren't the squeaky-clean saviors of humanity they might appear at first glance, especially with the methods they use to fight the vampires (no big spoilers, but it involves a deal with another type of supernatural creature, whose motives for being the humans' accomplices have not yet been revealed). At the same time, frequent scenes of the vampires show that they might not be the outright evil creatures they appear at first glance. All this buildup, along with a fair bit of action, character development, and well-placed comedic relief has really endeared this manga to me. Kagami is a seasoned writer and knows what he's doing.

CHARACTERS- 6/10

Just like the story, most of the characters fall into cliche. Once most of the main characters have been introduced, we have a cast that can be easily described with a few words from TV Tropes.

Yuichiro Hyakuya is the idiot shonen protagonist, to levels that can induce facepalms and bad memories of Emiya-kun.

After meeting Yoichi Saotome, I can understand why people hate Shinji so much. Whiny, annoying boy is not a great character type to start with, especially when it's never stated exactly how this wimp ever managed to get into the army in the first place. His backstory is also too generic and not visited enough to evoke much sympathy from the readers.

Shiho Kimizuki is your jerk with a heart of gold. However, his backstory is done tastefully enough and given enough time (it appears Kagami learned about audience apathy!) and both tsun and dere sides of him are given character development. He's quickly become my third-favorite character (you'll see why he's not #1 or #2 down below). Also, pink hair! On a guy! And it's natural! And he rocks it like a badass!

The final member of the Hiiragi Squad, Mitsuba Sangu, has not had enough screentime to make an impact, but her seemingly textbook tsundere nature holds a darker secret and one that I really find believable. Hopefully she takes a bigger role in the future.

Major Guren Ichinose? Oh, you mean Captain Levi!

On the other side of the coin, among the vampires we have Krul Tepes, the creepy loli (bonus for speaking in prophecy) and Ferid Bathory, the white-haired, bishonen rat bastard. Like I said, nothing too original, but damn Ferid is sure hot for a villain. Draco repeat anyone?

There are a couple characters that do break the mold that SnK and AnE set. Shinoa Hiiragi is the leader of Yuichiro's squad and a capable female lead. Despite being a member of the powerful Hiiragi family, which pretty much runs everything having to do with the human resistance, she chose to prove her worth on the battlefield because she hates the politics of higher ranks, and manages to hold her own without being overshadowed by the boys or being a damsel in distress.

For another great character, (SPOILER) we have Mikaela, one of the boys in the orphanage with Yu and his best friend. We thought he had died when the orphans attempted to escape, but he actually became a vampire. Now, he wants to find Yu again and make him see their side of the story. Of course, Yu has sworn to KILL ALL THE TITANS I mean VAMPIRES, so this makes it a little difficult for him. But still, great plotline and one that had the most impact on me out of all the young series's dangling plot threads so far.

ART- 9/10

The art in this manga is impressive. Yamamoto is an experienced artist, having done art for two different light novel sets, so he knows what he's doing as well. The action scenes are drawn well and I never have to turn back pages to make sense of what just happened, as I often do in other manga (which pisses me off to no end). I'm not too big a fan of the big round-eyed character design as it makes the characters look younger than they should be, which is not too great for a postapocalyptic story where characters are supposed to grow up far faster than they should, but it's just a minor gripe. The character designs, despite being all very pretty, are distinct enough to not be confused with each other, and the monsters shown in the series also have distinct designs. Altogether Yamamoto's art is at least a solid B+ if not more.

OVERALL- 8/10

This story may sound unoriginal, and it may be unoriginal, but it kept me entertained. It's got something for everyone: fight scenes and pretty girls for the guys (Shinoa is best don't deny it), and loads of pretty boys for the girls (the dynamic between Yu and Mika is bound to produce buckets of fangirl screams). If you have the time, pick up this manga. You won't be disappointed.

This is a manga which is okayish. A lot of it is very cliche, the characters lack a great deal of originality, the female portrayal is poor- the list goes on and on.

The main character starts off painful to watch in their angry shouneness, but one good thing about this manga is its portrayal of the main character Yuu and his counterpart Mika. Yuu starts off painful to look at with his horribly cliche shounen angriness, but his character development is admirable and touching in the way he becomes more emotionally balanced. Mika in himself is an amazingly well written character and the chemistry ... between those two is worth sitting through all the downsides and cliches.

In terms of plot/story the first 13ish chapters build up the pace well and it gets gripping. But after that points it starts to fall- it's the type of manga which builds up too many mysteries and questions without resolving them which leaves you feeling strung and unsatisfied. The drawing out of when Yuu and Mika will meet is one huge fanbaiting which feels frustrating and unecessary.

If the manga would pull itself together and start revealing its main plot already I would have given this a much better review. Otherwise I would put it as a good and fun read if you don't have anything else better to read, and if you don't mind being pulled into a blackhole of no return of emotional feels and wanting to yell at your screen

This manga has kept me on my toes and interested enough to look forward to its once-a-month release.

Simply, it is something new. It is something different. The pacing is fast enough to keep me involved and appropriate for its spaced releases, but also slow enough that I have to dig in and theorize (big bonus!). I'll talk more about why I like the story in the Character section.

Art: 8/10
This is pretty self-explanatory. The art is consistent and I have no trouble deciphering who is who. The mangaka is very experienced with action, humor, emotion, and anything in between. I would have given it a ... higher score, but there are some pages where the format is confusing; however, I'm sure this problem is fixed when read on actual paper and not online.

Character: 10/10
I've seen a lot of people complaining about that characters, but I can't agree. The main characters, Yuu and Mika, are entertaining and almost tragic. Yuu is first introduced as a generic "I must kill them all" character, but he gets a lot of development and depth as the story progresses. Mika remains a very mysterious character, despite being one of the protagonists.
What sets this manga apart is its outstanding cast of minor characters, who all have their own brilliant flaws, and must grow through the main character. One of my favorite feelings while reading or watching a story is a sense of inner-conflict. There are no straight good or bad guys in this story, because every character is justified in their actions.

Enjoyment: 10/10
I look forward to the new chapter every month. I adore the characters. I've even teared up at certain points in the story. I can't wait to read more.

The story is absoutely amazing and everytime makes me keep reading, until I realize how much time I've spent reading.
It takes place in the future, where a virus suddenly appeared and killed every person who's over the age of 14. At the same time humans got attacked by vampires, which lead to chaos, at least in Japan (it's still unknown how other countries are doing as far as I know).
The kids were taken in by the vampires and used as "life stock" - they basically collected their blood everyday in order ... to feed themselves. One day, though, a group of friends is done being vampire's life stock and they attempt to escape the vampire prison - what happens next? Read the manga to find out!

Art: 9/10
The art is beautiful. Nothing much to say about it. In some scenes characters do look a little silly though. I find it funny.

One thing I am disappointed about is how slow the translation of the manga is coming out, it takes about a year for a volume to be translated after it comes out. I wish it was translated faster. I currently own the volumes up to 20 as the rest are not yet available in my country.

Overall, definitely at least give this manga a try. I pinky promise you will love it! :)

This a great series that have one of the most favorite icons in histories, humans vs. vampires vs. demons. The story has many humans fighting vampires by using these demons weapons. The art is one of the best thing of this manga, it has beautiful backgrounds and amazing definition towards the characters and the environment. The powers of the characters are somewhat unique and very stylish looking in where you be amaze with how the characters may use there power to protect themselves. If you are one big fan of vampires fighting humans like myself, i recommend this manga, it very well made even for ... the casual reader.

Owari no Seraph (English: Seraph of the End) may at first seem like your average action manga series with a super angry protagonist, but don't let the exterior fool you. It has more depth into it than you think.

Story: 9/10
Seraph of the End has a story that starts of with a unique setting. A mysterious virus that kills anyone over 13. Vampires who have been in hiding seize that chance to come to the surface and try to gain power amidst the destruction. Yuu and Mika, two central characters in the story, are captured ... by vampires (along with the rest of the children from their orphanage) for their blood. Skip to six years later.
After losing his family four years ago, Yuu seeks vengeance for his dead 'family,' especially Mika. This part of Yuu eventually fades away after learning that Mika is alive. The story starts to twist and turn and spin out of control as Yuu tries to figure out more about Mika and Mika tries to figure out more about Yuu.
The term 'seraph of the end' in terms of the story comes from Yuu's experiences, as you will learn early in the story. Yuu had been experimented on by the infamous Hyakuya orphanage for extremely mischievous reasons. He had been given a so-called "seraph gene" that makes him go berserk. The plot becomes thicker when you realize more of the Hiragis' (the family that helped save some of the humans in Japan and started to Vampire Extermination Unit) motives, Guren's thinking, and the vampires' side of the story.
Mika, on the other hand, had grown up with the vampires with the hope that Yuu was alive. But he slowly starts to resent both humans and vampires—humans due to the experiments and misuse of otherworldly beings for their own selfish purposes, and vampires for the life that they ripped from both him and Yuu.
Both boys hold a close bond, and they both search for answers in each other and with each other, unraveling many secrets.
The individual arcs in the story reveal several different plot points that hint at different motives between each action. As the story progresses, you start to question which side is good and which side is bad. The lines blur and you wonder who is who. Sometimes it's shocking, and the shock gets you, but in a good way.

Art: 8.5/10
The art in the manga series is wonderful, but far from perfect. The close-ups and shading is perfect, but some shots look iffy. The art style is great for this kind of story. It helps you fall in love with the characters and the setting since everything is so nicely illustrated. But there are still those little things, here and there, that are noticeable. These things kinda bring down the quality since it might confuse the reader. But the art slowly improves. It's not god-awful, but it's pleasing.

Character: 8/10
When the reader first find Yuu in the present setting, he's bitter and tries to distance himself from others so that he tries not to make close connections and bonds with others, in fear that he might be hurt the same way he was hurt when he 'lost' Mika. But we slowly see Yuu mature from a 'kill all the vampires' and 'no friends, I hate you all' person to a more refined individual, slowly gaining new perspective on the world. His resentment of vampires holds, even though he finds his 'brother' turned into a vampire. He really grows on you, but he still holds some of those cliche character tropes of a protagonist that initially wanted me to turn away: I want to kill all ______, always angry, and I have a special power because main character. The second of the three eventually fades into easily teased. The last of the three is a (somewhat) central part of the plot, unlike in Shingeki no Kyojin where it's more like an accessory.
Mika's development is surprising—he goes from a full-of-sunshine, cheery boy to a loathsome, brooding vampire. He is essentially teen angst. But that initial impression wears off when you realize the reason behind his sulking. He desperately wants to protect Yuu. He has a complex over Yuu and you see the struggles he has. He abstained from human blood, making him cry out in pain and occasionally lose control of himself for Yuu's sake, in hopes that he will never become a 'disgusting monster.' Mika's personality is actually slightly relatable, making him a favorite.
Shinoa Hiragi is a unique girl. Her character is extremely interesting, with her background and where she stands. She appears to know so much, but she is clueless when it comes to her own sister. She is loyal to Guren Ichinose, another important character, making her seemed mixed and confusing. Shinoa turns out to be a lovable character as a funny squad leader with plans of her own.
Mitsuba, I feel, is used mostly for comic relief. You don't see much about her, anything that might stick to you, anyway.
I don't have much to say about Kimizuki or Yoichi.

Enjoyment: 10/10
I clearly enjoy Seraph of the End. It's still a young series, and so many avenues and plot lines could be explored and I eagerly wait for the next chapter. The plot is so interesting and I just get so absorbed in the story.

Overall: 9.1/10
Overall, Seraph of the End is a series that many should try. The anime does not do it justice at all. If you liked Shingeki no Kyojin or like Hellsing, Seraph of the End is the thing for you. While there are things that could be worked out here and there, I think it's extremely great. I tried it and liked it, and you might too.

"Owari no Seraph" has a good combination of serious and funny moments that makes for an enjoyable read. The moments don't conflict with each other, and the story feels like it flows well so far. There is a nice balance of mystery throughout that keeps you thinking, and overall the story gives off an old school FMA-like vibe.

Personally, I think the main character is a bit too much of a shounen manga protagonist and it doesn't feel like his character matches the vibes the series gives off. Even though this is flagged as shounen series, it feels like it is something that would appeal more ... to older readers.

Either way, I still enjoyed reading. And, I do hope that you will give "Owari no Seraph" a read too.

I personally really enjoy this manga and am very interested in keeping up with it. I love the art and characters, and the story is really picking up. I still liked it better then AoT (the super-hyped first season) was still coming out (way back in 2012). I can now say the genres are different enough I don't compare them anymore. I still really enjoy this manga and I am most definitely keeping up with it. I really like the relationship between the Yuu and Mika, and recently Shinoa has been climbing as one of my faves. I like Guren, he's an interesting spin on ... the "military leader father figure". Shinya and the vampires are great, and I love how everything is coming together. Poor Yuu keeps getting kidnapped, but Mika always gets his princess back. The mystery is building and the art is very eye pleasing, as always.

So I'll be upfront, I picked up the manga where the 2nd season of the anime left off. I'm not one for classic shounen anime, unless the art is really captivating and there's some good humor.

A lot has happened since that point, and man oh man have the past 15 chapters been such eye candy. The past ~5 especially, in terms of art. It's improved a lot when looking at initial chapters, and I understand from there why people would drop it.

My favorite part about this series is that no character has ... a set purpose. There isn't a character just for comic relief, it's spread out just like it should be in stories. There isn't a set evil character, as the story goes on the lines are connecting to something much bigger.

I watched Attack on Titan during the initial hype, but that got frustrating how clear cut their roles were. Eren is clearly the protag, whereas Yuu here is a main voice but not by much - his family have voices too. Though that becomes much clearer compared to the anime - or maybe showing how Yuu is opening to others?

There's very serious scenes, but the heaviness is balanced out with amusing parts. Not really a spoiler, but one scene the core group are all in the bathroom discussing something. Shinoa says along the lines of "Sorry for changing the subject.... but how do you use these?" in reference to urinals. Then it shifts back to the topic on hand and all resumes.

Of course, the art is a driving factor for me. Yet its in the same way that a game being pretty (ie FF XIII) can fall flat if mechanics or story fall short. We'll see how the current arc develops, but I'm much more interested than any of the past ones.

Seraph of the end is one of the shows that made my childhood great.
I recently found out there is a manga and started reading it. And it truly is a masterpiece deserving one of the top places with the whole theme of vampire ,family ,demons ,bonds and best of all mikayuu's relationship.The story in the recent chapters is truly beautiful and interesting with Shikama doji/Sika madu's past and his goals.

It truly makes makes me sad as to why this doesn't have a season 3 , I mean they have more than enough content for making another few seasons so why not?

So... probably one of the best vampire-themed manga out there.

To start with, although the action takes place in one country, we're shown other countries as well, and that's a fat plus. After all, the disaster happened all over the planet and not, as is usually the case...

The manga also has an interesting twist, as you might think that the goal of the manga is to exterminate all vampires. Well, as is often the case, good versus evil. That doesn't mean you're wrong, as that's exactly how it goes. It's a secondary goal, you might say, the main one is much ... deeper than you think, and I was actually quite surprised by it. That's why this manga became my favourite at some point.

Let's not get too deep into the plot, let's just say it's unusual. As for the drawings, yes, it may not be top-notch, but it's definitely noteworthy. It is, at the very least, pleasing to the eye. Every character is drawn very well, and as for the same cities, towers and just landscapes, they're really delightful. Especially when something large-scale is shown, you immediately get the thought that you didn't start reading it for nothing.

The main characters, yes, there are two of them, and that's a bit unusual too. Most of the action revolves around them, but as I've written before, we're also shown other countries. (There mostly with vampires.) And the two protagonists are really perfect, one is on the side of the humans and shows what happens to the humans, and the other is on the side of the vampires and shows what happens to them.

I can't say anything about the fights, the romance and such. Romance occasionally slips in, but overall the author doesn't pay much attention to it. And the battles are just battles. (I just don't like them, but they were shown well in the anime). There is empathy for the characters, especially from chapter 160~ when we know most of the story.

There's a lot to add, but I'm lazy. In short, anyone who likes dark fantasy and supernatural is a must read. Plot twists, mysticism and worrying about the characters' problems are all waiting for you here.

Story (9/10):
The story about a Virus, which killed almost all humans except kids is something really unique. At first i really didnt think that there where much more about the Virus than an Accident and all. But with reading more and more till the recent chapter I realized how much there was behind and how well thought the story is. Also with Yu being on the humans side while Mika is fighting for the Vampires gives us a really good perspective of both sides. But like i said there is way more behind it. I ... wont say what because i want you to read the Manga of course. I gave it a 9 yet because the manga is still ongoing and i dont know what will happen but i am really hyped for sure.

Art (8.75/10):
In my opinion the Art is really good. The effects like flames, shadows etc. looks soooo good. Especially the moments when the character become strong. Also the backgrounds where clearly drawn. There are still scenes when there was only drawn the character and no background. I dont really have a problem with it but i still think its worth to mention and thats also my reason for the rating.

Character (9.5/10):
So, the character really are well done. Yu, who has a tragic past and doesnt know much about having a family but still tries to protect and sacrifice his humanity and life for the people that are important for him. Mika, who is scared of losing the people that are important to him and protects yu at all cost. Shinoa, who is sarcastic and doesnt put emotion in the words she say but still developed feelings for Yu and desires to experience love and to make Yu happy. Her character development through the mangas really impressed me. It would take pretty long if i would describe the others too, so ill just leave it like this. However, the character development is incredible and makes me like the manga so much.

Enjoyment (10/10):
What to say about this? Of course I really enjoyed the manga yet and it always makes fun to read a new chapter.

Overall i really really recommend the manga to everyone. You can also watch the anime but the manga has way more content. Its one of my fav mangas and im really looking forward for the next chapters and volumes! Love Owari no Seraph and its something really special which needs way more attention.

First of all I want to mention how GORGEOUS the art is. I cannot emphasise it enough. But I want to talk about for Owari No seraph was how surprised I became towards it.

There was the cliche concept of teenagers fighting against vampires in a disease ridden world, and also seeking for revenge and general character development. But in spite of that concept being cliche, somehow the characters we meet really make it turn into something fun to read.

What I like about ONS has to be how well the story was thought out, the chapters began generically — vampires are evil, humans are good, ... that sort of stuff. But the more you read, the more you dive into the truth of the universe and the beginning of the true apocalypse. We understand that in this universe, there is no good side and there is no evil side. And that humans can be equally as wicked as vampires, vice versa. It’s a story about how everyone in this world are trying to fight for something thinking it’s for the benefit of their people, when in reality, it just leads to more destructiveness. And ppl say it’s very generic, but the amount of plot twists it has makes me want to go take a walk sometimes!

One of my favourite mangas, and I absolutely love the lore about these vampires. It’s not like any other vampire series I’ve read or watch, and the universe is the type of dystopia I get so hooked onto.

Kind of the vampire/demon version of attack on titan but it works very well. Story is fascinating, in many ways - overarching plot, interactions between many different characters.

Art style is very effective, has it’s own style which is always good for a manga, like I said, amazing characters, in fact I can’t think of a single bad one, rare for anything (even those briefly seen at least look good and are memorable) and 10 for enjoyment because it is amazing in every way.

Not really something to review or critique, my advice is just to read and enjoy it, same with the side novels ... and of course the anime. On that note would be amazing if a season 3 could be made!

I write this review as per chapter 136 published by official translator. This is light spoiler review, because it neccesary to tell bad thing and good thing.

Talk about the story, the story itself is full of betrayal, conflict, sadness, depression and so many other thing involve around it. There is good time when they are talking to each other, laugh etc but it takes so much panel which i think its kinda filler. Story start with conflict and plot running around that conflict which loom into conflict and again and again and again. The good thing from story is the ambition to want something even ... do something bad thing, The bad thing from the story is way too many plot twist, plot twist is good but in reasonable amount, but for this one, there are ALOT OF THEM, example there is plot twist in this chapter, next chapter, another plot twist and so on so on. Reader who are not veteran of reading wont catch up in this type story. Its unpredictable which make me read till the latest chapter. I originally also anime watcher and decide to read because S3 wont happened any point and i also lose the hope so i just binge with manga.

Talk about character, this is the problem, everyone here are childish, i know the world already mess for around 8 years, everyone just like kid. beside demon army high ranking and vampire high ranking/noble. The problem is main cast is so childish despite living in hell everyday, it should make them mature faster than normal kid today.
Yuu which our beloved mc who are have bad backstory, is so childish, naive and empower by power of friendship. Everytime i see him, he always like, yea u kill my friend, i forgive u, yea u kill people, okay i forgive u. I mean come on, really bro?. Next main cast, Shinoa, which u can said "female lead" yea she is, the story itself always flag her as female lead/ love intrest, u know something funny, Yuu himself (male lead) like Mika more than Shinoa despite she is confess him like many times (i think Yuu think it as a joke, never take seriously because her character also like that) She is strong woman but simp one. No complain but i demand justice for her. Mika, this guy right here, is the most realistic one, mature, always on watch, never trust somebody, train to become strong, and always protect his precious thing. I cant complain about Mika because he is the only character that i root more. Guren, senior of Yuu, HE IS MANIPULATOR, like how many times in the story, he betray everyone, even his friend. Like come on, everyone should sentence him to prison or something, he just roam around like nothing, commit another crime and roam freely like nothing. In this story, there is "provisional gov" which there is law, this guy break way so many law. He is realistic character, indeed but again, like law doesnt apply to this guy.

Talk about the art, its good, the action scene pretty damn good, the angel drawing is hella accurate. I love there are many bibilical reference here.

Overall, its good reading, try it by yourself, at first few chapters, its boring but it gets better chapter per chapter.
