New Interest Stack

Interest Stacks

Slice of life manga involving things like death, suicide, murder, depression, anxiety, paranoia, racism, survival, dark secrets(ex.cloning), loss/decline in/of civilisation etc.

I've included the fable and Kizudarake no Jinsei which aren't labelled as slice of life but they lie somewhere between gritty crime drama and a slice of life story.

Mangaby mosaicboy

Manga that features yokai as its main subject or a main character/cast of characters who tell stories relating to yokai. Some of these stories may be resolved by the said cast of characters but it also can just be a story.

Adding things I have read thus far but will add things as I find them!

Mangaby HaruHaruMon

Manga written to make you think, reconsider, or feel a strong sense of pondering.
Typically the characters are also questioning things and have long conversations about many topics.

"Often considered to be untranslatable, mono no aware refers to the bittersweet realization of the ephemeral nature of all things. It is the awareness that everything in existence is temporary. The fleetingness of youth, the fading of romance, and the changing of seasons are not to be mourned, but cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where their beauty comes from." The Ubermensch is that point of balance between the Dionysian and Apollonian. This is a balance between two 'extremes'. Tragic rage surely need be felt but can not be the only thing felt. Love of life in spite of everything is needed to live beautifully forever. Pure tragedy burns too quick and we live seemingly long lives- don't be silly.

but beyond that bit of advice, my pathologies are such that I must address those members of the populous whose thoughts remain under the thumb of a pressure that they are not aware of. To cringe at a system of action because it does not align with your own does not imply your system is correct in any sense- your cringe is a tool institutions have used to realize their dreams of maintaining oppressive regimes since time immemorial. It's a conduit of epistemic harm baked into your vessels that guides the flow of your blood.

Themes explored in the manga listed: the 'tragic hero', wanderers and their shadows, shadows, music, pain, love, hierarchy of emotion, and various other existential topics.

For those that wonder, if any do, there is necessarily overlap between my Kafka stack and this one because it is a matter of fact that Kafka himself was Nietzschean.

Mangaby HaruHaruMon

Manga with that quiet, cosy feeling. They tend to be low on plot but rich with characters and atmosphere—my personal favourite type of manga~
I also have a quietly contemplative stack, which are similarly quiet and soft but with more psychoanalysis and statements

After reading/watching personal opinion of worthwhile lessons will be added, the lessons and takeaways I got from reading the manga or watching their adaptations.
This is mostly personal opinion or what I’ve heard has good lessons and meaning.
You may learn or feel other things when watching or reading.
