Same type of assassin, a very psychologic story, characters trying to change their own lives.
reportRecommended by Shaya
Both deal with psychological themes and manipulation of death. In both manga, a character has the power to manipulate people's death. Izaku and Light are very similar in that they kill "bad people".

It's done by the same creator and has the same feel for the main characters. Both stories explain actions going on in great detail, espceally things that may be unfamiliar to the reader of the story. Even though MARS focuses more on the romance element, the story is very complex and will not leave you bored.

Both have rather psychological themes, trippy moments, and the main characters seem to have abilities no one else does.

Experiments which create dangerous "people" with supernatural powers, AKA science gone wrong. Both are pretty bloody, but Elfen Lied has much more gore and ecchi.

both manga deals with the theme of artificial life and it's misuse

they're not really similar, but the way you discover more about the past and the characters while the story goes on and the tension in LiL reminded me somehow of ES

Both are Shoujo/Josei works focusing on character psychology, emotions and relationships rather than particularly on action, as well as having a strong science-fiction core, in particular focusing on genetic engineering. Eternal Sabbath focuses on a female neuroscientist and characters who are engineered with an 'ES' gene which was supposed to be the key to long life and increased health but ended up also bestowing telepathy, and inevitably leads one of the experiments to revolt. Ilgenes focuses on different boys in a military academy and their moral views on the various forms of genetic engineering used around them in their society, including the ethical ramifications of clones harvested  read more

Well both are pretty psychological, exploring human nature as well as having a super-human boy as a lead. The art is very similar as well. However, the way both mangas are presented (Wonder Boy as a one-shot anthology, ES as a series) is different.

Both protagonists (main characters) in the respective manga are alien-like, with similar manipulative abilities (ES being the psychological, Fumetsu no Anata e being the body). The main characters both wander their world interacting with various strangers and developing bonds. The two manga contain similar themes, such as the protagonists' curiosity towards the nature of humanity, seeking the reason for their individual existence, and the mystery of their alien-like origin.

Both stories are highly psychological, and delve deep into the darker sides of humanity. In ES, there are people with ESP powers, and one rogue person with these abilities wants to end humanity. In Liar Game, a secret illicit company contacts people and forces them to participate in a game, the prize being one million dollars at the beginning, and if the person rejects the invitation or loses the game, become indebted to the company for 1 million dollars (or whatever sum they're competing for). Contestants are given a certain amount of money, and they have to steal as much of their opponent's money as  read more

they are almost same IN EVERY ASPECT , only difference is ETERNAL SABBATH deals with artificial life forms , while PLUTO deals with artificial intelligence and robotics

If you liked one, you would probably like the other, although Only You is slightly happier (most likely because it's a shoujo). They both deal with ESP with dark themes, experiments, romance, drama, and general creepiness. The romance in Only You reminded me of ES due to their intensity of emotion and starting out in similar ways.

Similar concept and feel; both stories revolve around a group out to kill 'bad guys', and another trying to predict their next move and stop them. A slight supernatural touch to both of them as well, but not the main focus of the story.

Both of these series are adult-like romances with some horror and fantasy thrown in.

First of all the same author thus the same type of story telling which is quite scientific and very well documented. The characters have amazing depth to their personalities and it goes the same for the scene where the actions take place. The way it is done just makes you feel you are there, really understanding what the author tried to express thus participating and empathizing along with the rest of the world created. So if you want something smart, serious, enchanting and especially something that makes you think again, you should go for this Eternal Sabbath and if you liked this one you will love Cesare.

Both are about "humans" created in lab. They have a supernatural powers, and some of them are bad and some not. Both have rather psychological themes.

Philosophical pieces; Both deal with the meaning of humanity, in FMA through the idea of a soul trapped in a suit of armor, and in ES with clones. Both main characters wander through a world that is corrupt and filled with layered characters, and romances that are not based on romance, but mutual respect and partnership. The manga may not seem to connect on the surface, but I have found that the moral decisions that the characters grapple with are similar despite the context.

Science has created a select few people with the power to mess with other people's minds, even to the point of killing them. Involves questionable ethics. Have a subdued tone.
reportRecommended by IceAndCream
Both are stories with strong female characters, where psychic powers and the isolation they bring are important themes.
reportRecommended by Aiferrific
Both deal with cloning and "playing with human lives" via experimentation, and the consequences. Afterschool is more fantasy, and deals with the social aspect. Eternal is much more heavy, and deals with the ethical aspect.
