tl;dr: A version of Haganai that seems to be going in a different direction but ends before any of what its doing seems to have a point.
Haganai+ is weird. It’s an alternate take on the general concept and characters that’s pretty different, but there doesn’t really seem to be a point to said differences. The characters for the most part are pretty similar in terms of personality and background. If you want to be nitpicky about it there are differences, but I don’t think they’re big enough to matter. That is until the last chapter where everyone behaves vastly different and it feels kind of
...
wrong.
The plot is still forming a club to make friends and it follows some of the basic general progression between Kodaka, Sena, and Yozora as in the main story though with different events serving as the catalysts. However, it’s tremendously rushed and glosses over stuff in such a way that I don’t think it would even make much sense if you didn’t already know what it was trying to do already. And once again, the last chapter differs completely and doesn’t really fit at all.
I feel like it may have been building up to eventually doing something different that felt like it mattered, but it got axed before it was able to do so so it ends both really randomly and in a way that fails to give the manga any sort of sense of purpose. There’s also an epilogue 4th wall breaking joke epilogue chapter at the end that involves Rika and Yukimura since they don’t appear otherwise that I suppose was kind of amusing, though in a completely nonsensical manner. The art wasn’t particularly good either.
