Risa is a high school student who has zero experience in love, but hopes to one day find that special someone. After an unexpected event, Risa now finds herself entangled with the most popular boy in her grade, Yuugure. Could this be the beginning of love for Risa...!?
This manga is like a person with hidden talents. People will only discover the persons' talents by getting more noticed. Therefore, this manga deserves the spotlight. The story isn't unique but the plot is very well written. The character's personality is very bright and refreshing, the atmosphere is warm, and relaxing, and the manga itself is very enjoyable. The pace is just right, no third parties, happy feeling! This manga is about character development, romance, friendship, creating stronger bonds with different people and trying to do something new.
The story isn't very unique. Popular guy meets shy girl and they fall in love. Why did I rate it a 10? Well why not?! Here are my reasons:
-The pace: It's not fast, its not slow either. It's perfect, just the way I like it!!
-Genre: It did say Romance, Shoujo right? Well it definitely focused on both equally. I love romance shoujo mangas. The romance is not very strong and it is not week aswell. It has the right amount in the manga.
-Friendship: Seeing how strong Risa's and Yuuko's friendship is really amazing. They both do things for eachother at any cost. They keep their promises, cover eachother's mistakes, doesn't hide anything, and sticks up for eachother. True friends.
-Events: The situations they went through, you could definitely relate to. All the inexperience love going on, the nervousness, the skipping-a-heartbeat moments, and all the cute things they go through.
-Flow: The plot is very smooth. It doesn't make you want to punch your screen or scream in frustration, it makes you feel very relaxed and happy.
The story itself is very enjoyable.
You just cannot give the art a "10". The art is very unique and cute. As far as I know, i have not seen a manga with this kind of drawing before. Chibi is very adorable!! I love their hair and especially the eyes!! Definitely refreshing!
-Risa: Shy, cute, inexperience with love, true friend, cheerful
-Yuugure: Popular, Top Rank in school, mostly ever girl liked him, confident, outgoing, inexperienced with love, cool
Both the two main characters are the complete opposites of eachother yet they are very compatible. All characters in Nagareboshi Lens are likable!! The guys are flippin attractive and Risa and Risa's friends are really pretty!!
I'd be lying if I said i dont check sites everyday whether the manga was updated. You just can't miss a chapter or any little single detail in this manga. I've re-read this manga six times and watched the OVA three times. I never got sick of it. I love Nagareboshi Lens and it is my favorite manga out of all my favorites. You'll love every chapter and will be craving for kore chapters after reaching the last page.
I truly love this manga.
It is inspiring and very cute! You cannot miss this manga if you're into romance shoujo mangas. The OVA was not satisfying so I started reading the manga from the start. I was very glad to read this manga and will be sad when it ends.
Well, I hope my review helped!! Im not very good with making reviews but I just had to share my thoughts about my favorite manga!♥♥♥
To all romance shoujo manga lovers out there, this is a must read.
Nagareboshi Lens adds a fresh taste to the shoujo slice of life genre. The light atmosphere of each chapter leaves the reader with a heartwarming feeling. It's hard to dislike a majority of the characters with them extending beyond being cool or hyper or flirty.
You can criticize Nagareboshi Len for it's pacing. I think the pace in the beginning was fine, but hit a slump towards the middle before returning to a stable pace. It feels as if there's no progression between Touga and Risa at times, but really we are just watching them slowly learn each other.
Something I really like about this manga is how some chapters are from Touga's point of view. I like seeing how he thinks and reacts too. I immensely enjoy how there is little to no misunderstandings here, because characters speak up! Gosh, you don't know how thankful I am to not have to go through twenty chapter arcs of a misinterpreted situation.
Another pleasant surprise, the pseudo-love rival is a sadistic yandere boy. I didn't expect that at all.
Risa the main character is a sweetie. She is the cute girl who wears bows and doesn't want to hurt anyone. She doesn't like confrontation and needs to be more aggressive. Risa's dialogue and some of the things she does are cringeworthy, but there are worst chicks in shoujo. Risa is relatively a good character. I just roll my eyes when she beats herself up for keeping Touga from his fans,"When i'm happy with Yuugure-kun (Touga) no one else is happy." I would like to see more personality from her beyond crying and happiness, but I'm not annoyed with her yet.
Touga is my favorite character thus far. He's likable with his way of reading Risa instantly and his laid back personality. He calls his teacher by his first name, breaks the so-called rule of hanging out on the balcony, and speaks his feelings clearly. He's the type of guy you'd want as a friend. His crew of friends are just as lovable as him.
Hachino I will mention because he's the next interesting character after Touga. The mind games he played in his debut were very entertaining, and his well deserved comeuppance appeared in the form of an annoying motormouth. Hachino hates Touga much like a scorned lover. I know there has to be more to that than what's developed.
Yuudai is such a fun but minor character. He is forever challenging Touga but all he wants to be in life is just like him. Touga doesn't see him as a serious threat but a friend. I want to see more of this guy.
Touga and Risa's relationship is very sweet and they both understand each other well. They always try to put the other's interests and needs before their own. I keep forgetting that they are only fourteen, because they are so mature. I wish the kiss scenes were a bit more emphasized but I can't fault the love itself.
The artwork is beautiful until close ups, when excessive screen tones make the eyes seem creepy. In funny moments the art has it's own charismatic charm.
Well worth a read if you don't mind a plot not going anywhere for awhile and want something pure. read more
