tl;dr
the manga is much darker than the anime version
imo it is very exciting but short
read if you like Shounen aimed at primary school age

now I want to share my expirience with the manga.
In your hands, powered by your hearts strength: Crush B-Daman!!
Our hot blooded protagonist Tamaga Hitto is living with his lazy and incompetent father Professor Tamaga, running the household and earning money by finding other peoples lost belongings together with his friend Mamoru. For his birthday, His father gives to him the B-Daman Ifrit. Hitto is only faintly excited, hearing that this is what his father spent all his time and energy to create. But little does he know, how deeply his fate is linked with Ifrit....
So far, so ordinary. But the story quickly gets a dark tone and the big plot twist in the third volume was near to too much for me.
The ending of the story is fairly open and gives room for further tales. Those are however limited to fan fiction as there is no sequel.
The drawing is medium to high standard for Corocoro Comic. The level of detail is not overwhelming, but the art does never seem sloppy.
Of the characters introduced in the first chapters, none are keeping their importance to the end. I think at least Konta should have been granted a role in the big last fight, because he is cool. Kodou gets the most character development of all the characters. The story of Teruma is also interesting but seemed a little bit put-on to me at some moments. Hitto is a good main character, nothing special, but definitely very enjoyable.
The technical component of the battles gets much less important in the later half of the story. But the Power-dragonballing it is replaced with is written well enough, that the enjoyment is kept high. Many issues and capabilities don't come to play due to the brevity of the manga.
I had an amazing time reading this hot blooded shounen story by Kuratani Tomoya. I hope you can have the same fun as I had reading it. If you are familiar to the stories from Corocoro comic you should allready know if this is for you. If you are just here because you love B-Daman, you should definitely give it a try.
