It's a dreadful story that somehow pretends to be a drama/romance. Ballsy move, honestly, given the actual content of the narrative.
The FL is a relatively uninteresting girl, born to a noble family, but whose life is ruined by a vindictive monster who is the ML.
Our FL Annette, is the last member of a noble caste. She is the prisoner of Heiner, the current leader of the country after the coup that killed off or exiled that very same noble caste. The story would present them as being married, however this is an insane claim given the evident emotional torture, humiliation and disregard Heiner inflicts on

her.
Annette is stuck in a delusion that Heiner will one return to being the man she courted years ago, before the coup.
Heiner constantly views her as a thing and never considers her a person; he becomes irrationally upset when she doesn't behave as he predicts and NOT ONCE does he even consider apologising for the years of torment he caused, even when he finally accepts that he's the reason she wants to die.
Both of them are in terrible mental states, but insist they're fine.
My biggest regret is that Annette doesn't kill off Heiner herself; they both deserve it.
