Synopsis

Long ago, an emperor suddenly decided to execute the members of his court. Only after being offered a girl named Aehwa, did the emperor's rampage stop. The emperor cherishes his "flower" dearly. When Aehwa expresses an interest in music, the Emperor makes Harang Kang her personal court musician. However, the emperor decreed that only he can lay eyes on Aehwa and has Harang's eyes destroyed. After finding out the true cause of his father's death, Harang swears revenge on both Aehwa and the Emperor. In this twisted realm of snakes and flowers, who will prevail?

Mixed Feelings

This is the author's first work, and considering that, the story is really amazing. Not gonna lie, I only started reading this because I thought Harang was a cute guy. Didn't think it would lead to this lol.

I really liked the 3 leads, they were all complex and well written including the Emperor. I think Aehwa was my favorite character throughout the entire story, while she's not necessarily relatable, she's a character that's easy to empathize with.

The story itself is around an 8/10 for me but I really liked the execution that I had to bump it up to a 9. I remember crying ...
