This review contains few minor spoilers.
Silent Knight Shou is a manga by Masami Kurumada, however, not that much known among the general manga audience. I'm not surprised, since it's an old (serialized in the year 1992) and cancelled series that has received only eight chapters, forming two volumes in total. Nevertheless, I think it's an interesting manga worth of checking out not only by the diehard fans of Masami Kurumada's mangas, but also by anyone willing to try out a fresh take on shounen genre.

that's why it felt so entertaining to read. It has most of the elements I personally adored while reading Saint Seiya: theme of saving the world from ominous threat (here: the organization called Neo Society), screams signaling powerful attacks performed by warriors, said warriors fighting in well-drawn and detailed armors granting them powers, mixing the real world (here: the theory of evolution) with the world of supernatural phenomena. Even though, of course, Silent Knight Shou does not belong to the Saint Seiya universe, you might notice without much problems how many things in common it has with Knights of the Zodiac.
And... that's pretty much it when it comes to the plot, characters and worldbuilding. It's hard to tell anything more after just two volumes that clearly had served as a build-up for future events that eventually didn't happen.
It's a shame that such promising manga was cancelled. I don't know why it was and I couldn't find on the Internet the exact reason why it did. Maybe it was because of bad sales? Or perhaps the readers saw too much Saint Seiya in it and thus saw it as a clone, while preferring to see another Saint Seiya installment instead? We can only guess.
Given how much time has passed since the year of its serialization and because of Masami Kurumada's age (69 years at the moment of this review's publish date), any chances of Silent Knight Shou's comeback are even lesser than abysmal. I'm glad we could at least get a glimpse of what this series could've been like if it had not been cancelled.
