'Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival' is an unique take on the typical 'isekaied into an otome game' trope. In the story, instead of directly getting isekaied in, the protagonist gets transferred the memory of an isekaied person who has lived longer in this world than her.
The story revolves entirely around Aria, and it follows her journey to become stronger. Side characters do actually matter and do appear again in the story a lot.
(Minor Spoilers)
Aria's emotional awakening feels a bit weird. Her personality flipped a straight 180 degrees after the confrontation with the isekaied person. She used to be warm and sharing
...
(even though it was mostly faked when she entered the orphanage), and after the confrontation somehow she switches to a brutal person with absolutely no hesitation to kill? That doesn't seem realistic. She said in the 1st chapter that she fakes acting good to satisfy what her parents taught her, but now she doesn't apply the same logic when she kills someone without thinking - the only reason being that they're her "enemy"? Meh... She also becomes an insanely selfish person - only thinking for herself and strictly herself and her goals. That's literally the direct opposite of what your parents taught you, come on.
Her past family also doesn't matter in the story at all after Chapter 1 ends. She doesn't use the knowledge from those years anywhere, she doesn't apply any lessons she learnt from her parents, she doesn't even think back about her parents after Chapter 1 ends. It feels like the only thing that matters from her past is literally the fact that she is the heroine of the otome game. And the fact that she lives in an 'otome game' doesn't matter. We don't see any political growth, we don't see any concrete attempts of 'finding the hero' after Chapter 1. Literally remove the entire isekai otome thing and the story doesn't change in any way. Aria doesn't even use the knowledge of the otome game that much.
Personality slander done, if we put that apart, then this story has a lot of positives. It's clearly an unique take on the otome game trope, it's action-packed, and it's extremely satisfying to see Aria get stronger by the day. Aria becomes a person who only cares about efficiency and shows her genius through careful planning to achieve her goals. It's entertaining and a fun read if you just turn your brain off and ignore the psychological inconsistencies. The power system can be hard to understand (I gave up and just looked at the total combat power), but it feels to have clear depth and structure. The side characters also feels well-written and isn't just cardboard slop. Read this if you want an action-packed story focused on the main character getting stronger, or if you just want some fun.
Overall, I'd give it a 9/10. Would recommend if you like battle heavy stories.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, but the manga is very gruesome and extremely graphic, so it might be inappropriate for certain readers.
