The knowledge that we won't be able to see someone or something we love anymore is a painful feeling. As I, and many fans of Azumanga Daioh watched the final episode the knowledge that there will be no more Osaka, Chiyo, Tomo, Sakaki, Kagura, Yomi anymore hit all of us fast and hard.

Having a familiar feeling is a good thing—it makes you feel at home, as if you are greeted by a warm and cozy mood that sets you back on the right track. The mixed amount of nostalgia and getting to experience something as if it was fresh is a unique emotion all in all, and it's so calming to find it out of serendipitous chance.

Azumanga Daioh Honshuu-hen is a welcome (and probably final) addition to the Azumanga Daioh story. It is exactly what it was 10 years ago, hilarious, silly and downright adorable.
Of course the style has developed since we've last seen the colourful cast, taking the more realistic look of the equally charming Yotsubato!

I was delighted to notice the world buildng wasn't completely stagnant, small drops additional information that expand a little more to what we already knew from the original series. (At least to my knowledge, I've only seen the anime so I'm unsure if this info was touched on in the manga)
