Both of these series deal with the supernatural and the adventures of a young boy becoming stronger and having strong supernatural and human allies with them in their journeys.

Geek-fulfillment fantasy with cool powers and decent art, main characters who are so shounen it's not even funny.

Both series are about a protagonist with a strong sense of honour fighting both to protect his lady love and because of the legacy he has come to represent.

I wonder if Akame ga Kill got inspiration from Flame of Recca, as Teigu are very similar to Madogu. Not to mention both series have great an engaging action that keeps you wanting to read more.

Both manga's main character were ordinary teenager who gained special ability. But those ability wasn't without price, in which brought them to extraordinary competition .. with their life at the stake

Similar powers, and another very mainstream battle manga. I enjoy them both.

There is an incredible similarity in both the powers and personality of the main protagonist. I don't want to give anything away, but Recca screams Naruto to me.

The main characters are ninja who protect a klutzy girl who is more special then she appears. Flame of Recca has more action to it, but both are pretty romantic.

Both series are ultimately about the ideas of fate, destiny, and a life's path being preordained before birth, and struggling desperately to overcome this to decide one's own role and path in life.

They give similar feelings and in both mangas a group of people with super powers fights against enemies who have super powers as well.
