People are put into a setting where disasters are omnipresent, and the main lead has a leadership quality that brings a group of people together. They also both have a bit of romance

Story takes place in Japan right after a disaster of catastrophic proportions has happened.

Both manga are about people surviving after a big earthquake and the good and bad in human nature that reveals itself after such an event.

Another manga focused on ordinary people (a guy and a girl) trying to survive after a calamitous event which sparks a breakdown in society - in this case a powerful earthquake. Much shorter than I am a Hero.

The front part of Let's Lagoon! is pretty similar to Kanojo wo.... as both main characters knew each other, only not well, before a disaster takes place with the main male character mostly helping the girl. Diff is that Let's Lagoon has a lot of mystery and involves island survival while Kanojo wo.... is more drama-based and involves disaster survival.

In both mangas a group of people experience a catastrophe and end up in an more or less isolated environment... then starts the game of survival.

A boy and a girl meet in Tokyo and survive a massive earthquake together. Both of these short seinen works from 2006 are about the aftermath of natural calamities on people beyond the city's destruction; Naegayuru is fanservice-filled while Kanojo has more psychological depth.

Some may totally question how different Kurozuka and 51 is, but I find that both give off the same apocalyptic-feel. 51 has more comedy relief than Kurozka (although it is definitely not a comedy), Kurozuka has much more gore than you may ever see (comparable to Elfen Lied). Somehow these two mangas, just remind me of each other. I highly recommend you try the first chapter of Kurozuka or 51 if you liked the other. You may be in for an angst-y surprise.
