Overall: 9
This manga feels different from the rest in its genre. It feels more real as it deals with issues that real homosexual men also deal with. Things like coming out to your family/friends, getting married if your country allows that and most difficult thing, accepting who you are. If you are looking for something more than yaoi this manga is for you.
SPOILERS FOR CHPT 4+5! I really loved Keigo's family reaction, especially his grandma's! It made me so happy to see both sides of coming out, the good (Keigo's family) and the bad (Yuu's family). Although we did see that they sent a
...
flower arrangement for the opening of his restaurant so maybe in the EXTRA chapter we will get some kind of update on their relationship.
Story: 9
I'm giving this manga a high score because this story pulls you in. You want to know how their story ends and each chapter gives you an answer and another question for the next chapter. Storywise, it isn't something completely new but I think this is one of the best portrayals of a real gay relationship I have ever seen in any manga. The mangaka is also aware of how not everyone accepts same-sex relationships and there is a moment when we see a homophobic character and how what they say affects our main character. Without going into spoilers, I think this moment was handled very well by the author. Overall the story is written really well and is very enjoyable.
Art: 7
The art is good. The art style is not too flashy or exaggerated, but rather more simplistic and realistic. There is no "yaoi hands" syndrome in this manga! For some simple = bad but in my opinion, less is more when it comes to this genre. It's not unbelievably amazing or never seen before art style but it has its charm.
Characters: 9
Both Yuu and Keigo are amazingly written. They are complex and feel like they could be real people. Their conflict doesn't feel forced and their relationship is very mature. Background characters are there for a good reason and don't feel any less real.
*SPOILERS FOR CHAPTERS 3-5* Keigo's family is an interesting new addition in chapter 3 and I loved their reaction to his sexuality. Also, his grandma is the sweetest person ever! Yuu's boss also had a really important conversation with him and all the hints point to his boss knowing he's gay. (or maybe I'm reading too much into this) *SPOILER ENDS*
Enjoyment: 9
This manga is a mixed bag: we have 2 cups of fluff (one for each main character), a sprinkle of sex scenes and a pinch of drama. The cause of the drama is true to real life and maybe that is the reason why it's enjoyable. This type of relatability is rare in yaoi manga seen more often in "shounen-ai" aka BL manga. The coming out scene was handled so well and made me grin so much my face was hurting!
