This is a love story, but more than that this is a story about self actualization and the various struggles that come with being a people pleaser. There's a depth of character development that is truly phenomenal, and the way they explore their character arcs feels very insightful.
The romance itself is very tame, with the couple barely kissing each other for the majority of their time dating. Physical intimacy takes a back seat to the earnest emotional support they both give each other, and you really feel the love in the relationship.

One of the best, most precious bl stories I've read. It's realistic in a sense that it makes you feel so many different kinds of emotions - hurt, sadness, fun, happiness, admiration- all of which are our true selves. For a shounen ai, it has a mature and adult air to it but still preserves great wholesomeness and purity to its characters. I love how when they got together it was not sudden but rather they gradually came to terms with their feelings and realizing that the love they have for each other evolved over time since they were friends to becoming lovers.
