This is a very enjoyable story.
I am only five chapters in (plan to read a lot more soon) but it already has basically everything I want in my slow life story:
First it is not an Isekai. I feel there are too many of them today so it is nice to have a full fantasy story.
Second the main character is strong but does not feel nor is stated to be overpowered so in the fight scenes there is still enough tension to keep it exciting.

A simplistic humble yet diverse fantasy with decent world-building and characters. At first, I was hesitant to start reading this story in fear of being utterly disappointed after seeing so many trashy stories where the MC also gets engaged to a 15 year old.
But unlike the manipulative pedophile characters that fantasy stories have achieved notoriety for, this story revolves around the daily life of a straightforward middle-age ex-soldier with an immovable sense of justice. While the plot is mostly predictable, it is still an enjoyable read as we see this new fiefdom steadily grow. I would rate it lower than my current rating, but it gets ... |
