::STORY::
Another Summer Knights is an entertaining mini collection of one shots. The title story, a two-shot, involving a girl helping out at her aunt's maid cafe was the best. There isn't any character development or official love confession, but the humor really shines. It got at least a laugh from me and one good scare too. I could have read another chapter of that story. I did realize that the mangaka never completely explained why Kennosuke ignored Natsu. He could have sent a text, you know!
The second one shot was a bit dry and I was in the land of NOPE throughout because bad
...
boys don't know how to keep their hands to themselves for some reason. Their love may have been a little forced too.
The last one shot is about a birthday party gone wrong, a food cafe, and a shortcake competition. It was a real contender for my favorite one shot.
::ART::
I liked the art except for the elongated bodies and thick necks. Personally, I don't like beefy necks. The eyes were cute but a bit blurry at times. You could argue that all the megane boys look similar and you wouldn't be lying.
::ROMANCE::
It's really physical in this manga, but there's at least one cute moment to sastisfy your shoujo feels. Maybe it's because this manga didn't have to wait for a hundred chapters to get to the good stuff.
::CHARACTERS::
Eh, all of the girls fit the basic shoujo mold so no praise there. Still, none of them are dislikeable either.
Kennosuke was my favorite, and not to mention he was a good guy that got the girl... Over the bad boy!
::OVERALL::
Entertaining and funny. A good short read! However, I gotta take minor points off for boys with too grabby hands... Which is basically a given in shoujo. Anyway, go experience this for yourself!
I will leave you with this defining quote:
"No, cakes are my only lover."- Miyake Kazuka
