I am very attached to this manga. I am sure that it goes through the many tropes and themes that a typical magical girl story would (though I'm not familiar enough with the genre to say for certain if that is the case), but the pure unapologetic emphasis it puts on the character motivations and whatever mechanics are forced upon them is charming and fun, something that usually gets thrown away or made the point of ridicule.
