Coming hot of the heels of reading all of Haikyu!, and wanting to find another sports series that really captured my attention, blue lock absolutely locked me in place, where i binged about 90 chapters in a single sitting. This series really does redefine how sports series can be written in every aspect. Don't expect much. May have some SPOILERS. Story: 9 Blue lock brings a pretty refreshing twist to the sports genre, where the focus is no longer on championships or teamwork. Instead, the story at first depicts how each character strives to be the best striker in the world, whilst honing their weapons (special skills, i.e. insane speed/accuracy，spatial recognition) in a somewhat survival game training facility. The first Manga I ever read. Honestly it is an addictive story. After every chapter it makes me more excited and curious about the next chapter. I personally loved it. The character scripting, dialogues and everything about it is truly top notch. I was so caught up with the story that I read about 30 chapters in a single day. I particularly love the U-20 and Neo-Egoist League part.

Japan is a nation where people are meant to play by the rules. You should do what people say and not think highly of yourself, since you're just a pawn in the greater system which is their "rationality". Blue Lock is basically a giant "fuck you all" directed at that concept. This manga portrays ego in a way I've always thirsted for. It's extreme, intense, and illogical just for the sake of being fun.
Isagi, the protagonist, starts off as being an average player who's long lost his real drive as a striker. Japan's philosophy twisted his fate as a forward by suppressing his ego. ...

Blue Lock was one of the manga that I had the most expectations and, unfortunately, I am disappointed. The art is great but can't save the whole thing.
To begin with, I'm aware that Blue Lock is not very realistic. The idea of being selfish and individualistic was quite interesting for the first 20 chapters. Team Z has a lot of fascinating personalities, and their struggles are revealed little by little. In my opinion, BLUE LOCK IS THE BEST MANGA IN THE WORLD THAT I HAVE READED IN MY LIFE. It's possible the story doesn't be completely original, but anyway it is a delight to read it. It isn't your generic 'teamwork' manga, it explores how to become stronger you need ego and to become the best you need an ego. There are just so many badass moments within this manga that it just gives you chills. I literally cannot express how much I love Blue Lock. It's definetly my most favourite manga of all time. The art is astonishing, the storyline is too intriguing and all in all it's just a wonderful story made by the hands of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura. I would love to have paperback versions of it but sadly, I'm broke asf. But when I read it digitally, I'm allowed to take screenshots of all the beautiful scenes. Never would I have thought that a sports manga would be this interesting.
Blue lock exceeded my expectations. I expected it to be around a 6-7 because it was a sports manga, and a football one at that, which I personally do not find very interesting. I rated it high because why not, among all of the sports anime and manga I have seen, this is one of the best and kind of different. How so? Y'all, this **** SLAPS. I'm reading a lot of ongoings at the moment, and out of all of them, Blue Lock is by far the most hype. It's also the only one where I tend to let a few chapters build up so I can read them all at once instead of every couple weeks.

Blue Lock is a great or maybe the best example out there to what soccer strikers should aim for and what they should actually believe in or do .
