Alright now, listen up! Blue Lock promises to be the shonen sports manga that'll kick your expectations in the crotch. But before you dive in, here's the deal:

This ain't your typical Captain Tsubasa snoozefest. If you're a shonen veteran who thrives on the sweet nectar of underdog victories and epic training montages, then Blue Lock is your new bible.

New to anime? Lost in the maze of magical hair and friendship speeches? Then this might be a bit much. Imagine My Hero Academia cranked up to eleven, where everyone screams about being the best instead of mumbling about the power of friendship.

Why?
Because ...

Coming hot of the heels of reading all of Haikyu!, and wanting to find another sports series that really captured my attention, blue lock absolutely locked me in place, where i binged about 90 chapters in a single sitting. This series really does redefine how sports series can be written in every aspect. If you are on the fence about sports manga and didn't enjoy previous ones, I recommend you give this a go, because it does everything that a typical sports anime doesn't.

Story-9
The plot of Blue Lock is that japan's best strikers are put through a rigorous "battle royale"-esque training camp to find ...

Yo, this is my first review so it may not be very good or informative or anything,
Don't expect much. May have some SPOILERS.
Story: 9
Blue lock brings a pretty refreshing twist to the sports genre, where the focus is no longer on championships or teamwork. Instead, the story at first depicts how each character strives to be the best striker in the world, whilst honing their weapons (special skills, i.e. insane speed/accuracy,spatial recognition) in a somewhat survival game training facility. Later on, rather than working cohesively together, Blue lock instead showcases a fusion of chemistry and rivalry between teammates (I AM THE ONE THAT'S GONNA SCORE), ...

The anime was not bad at all, I really liked the story and concept, and then I read the manga lol, I've got to say really liked the world cup arc or something, don't remember what's it called, and then they met with some foreign players or some shit, I was like ok ok, author may be cooking, then idk what happened it just got boring, and there was like a system based players value and shit, might be your sauce, definitely not mine, and there was one game where it took 20-30 chapters or something ( didn't fact check this, check yourself) , and ...

The first Manga I ever read. Honestly it is an addictive story. After every chapter it makes me more excited and curious about the next chapter. I personally loved it. The character scripting, dialogues and everything about it is truly top notch. I was so caught up with the story that I read about 30 chapters in a single day. I particularly love the U-20 and Neo-Egoist League part.
It truly is a story which depicts the true meaning of 'flow'. It shows us the passion one has or can have for a sport.
It makes one feel the story, pain and aggression of the ...

Japan is a nation where people are meant to play by the rules. You should do what people say and not think highly of yourself, since you're just a pawn in the greater system which is their "rationality". Blue Lock is basically a giant "fuck you all" directed at that concept. This manga portrays ego in a way I've always thirsted for. It's extreme, intense, and illogical just for the sake of being fun.

Isagi, the protagonist, starts off as being an average player who's long lost his real drive as a striker. Japan's philosophy twisted his fate as a forward by suppressing his ego. ...

I am currently up to date with Blue Lock. It's really good.

Story:9/10
As a soccer player the concept is actually quite interesting as l think some of the things in this could work in the real world to create a god-striker.

Art:7/10
Compared to some Manhua and other manga it isn't the best but it certainly is quite good

Characters:7.5/10
The characters are cool and look good. However, sometimes characters are too one-dimensional and only 1 personality trait.

Blue Lock was one of the manga that I had the most expectations and, unfortunately, I am disappointed. The art is great but can't save the whole thing.

To begin with, I'm aware that Blue Lock is not very realistic. The idea of being selfish and individualistic was quite interesting for the first 20 chapters. Team Z has a lot of fascinating personalities, and their struggles are revealed little by little. One of my favorites is Rensuke, who is obsessed with honesty and fair play, despite looking like a new version of Bakugou (MHA). The main character, Isagi, is also one of the strong points. ...

In my opinion, BLUE LOCK IS THE BEST MANGA IN THE WORLD THAT I HAVE READED IN MY LIFE. It's possible the story doesn't be completely original, but anyway it is a delight to read it. I have never got so much emotion, page after page I feel and learn about new feelings and things that I never imagine in my mind. Literally I never wait for the next chapter because I do need to know what will happened. This manga is always full of suspense. It is very possible that there will be never one adaptation to the anime the good enough for to ...

Blue Lock Volume 1 Review: A Hero Who Cares Only About Themselves

Just to be clear I am reviewing Blue Lock by volumes since the whole series is not even close to being finished. That said let's get deep into it.

This manga was my first sports manga/anime viewing and it was with my least favorite sport, soccer.

I have never really gotten why soccer is the number one sport in the entire world but this manga made it all too clear as to why that is. This manga not only builds a fictional Japan that is focused on soccer and claiming the World Cup but also ...

Sports manga's usually have those self-centered characters, who throughout the series attains self-awareness and discovers the value of his team mates and of team work. This manga is unique because it moves to the opposite spectrum, in that selfishness and egoism is the key to being the best striker in football. However, read fast and you might miss an important distinction.

Egoism used interchangeably with egotism originates from the same Latin word for "I" but have distinct uses in that 'egoism' is introspective and in acknowledging that it is natural to love oneself, develops a behavior based on its value system of self-interest whereas 'egotism' ...

Overview:
Blue Lock is a battle shonen disguised as a sports animanga. 300 student-athletes are trapped in football Squid Game and are forced to compete to create the ultimate striker. For those of you who have a problem with the animanga being unrealistic, since when has any animanga been realistic? Blue Lock conveys a deeper message than just being an animanga about becoming the best goal scorer in the football world. That deeper message can be seen and related to by any REAL athlete, if you are unable to see it, you've clearly never played a sport in your life. This animanga perfectly captures the helplessness ...

This is just an amazing and different sports manga.

It isn't your generic 'teamwork' manga, it explores how to become stronger you need ego and to become the best you need an ego.

There are just so many badass moments within this manga that it just gives you chills. It doesn't have any stupid boring fillers also everything leads up to the next thing and every chapter is important.

The moments of badass and seeing how you need to get stronger is what makes this manga different it does the opposite of any other general sports manga/anime. It makes the characters from thinking 'teamwork' is the key ...

I literally cannot express how much I love Blue Lock. It's definetly my most favourite manga of all time. The art is astonishing, the storyline is too intriguing and all in all it's just a wonderful story made by the hands of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura. I would love to have paperback versions of it but sadly, I'm broke asf. But when I read it digitally, I'm allowed to take screenshots of all the beautiful scenes. For example, the crowd's cheering at the U-20 Arc is just heavenly, one of the best panels I've ever seen. The puzzle pieces around Isagi, the effects that ...

Never would I have thought that a sports manga would be this interesting.

Blue lock exceeded my expectations. I expected it to be around a 6-7 because it was a sports manga, and a football one at that, which I personally do not find very interesting.

Story - 8/10
The premise is fairly simple, a group of the 300 best strikers in Japan are thrown in a training facility to root out the weak and train the strong to make the best striker Japan has ever seen. However, the story is executed very well, but is still lacking in depth.

Art - 9/10
The art is phenomenal, with each match ...

I rated it high because why not, among all of the sports anime and manga I have seen, this is one of the best and kind of different. How so? First of, it doesn't revolve much about friendship and teamwork, instead it focuses on selfish desires / ego of each character, it's refreshing and new. People say football is about teamwork and dream, but in this manga it's more like how can they use others and make their character shine more that their personalities became weird and aggressive when in play, but that's what I love in the manga. Especially my yoichi, he's like a ...

Lately, any manga give me a good adrenaline dose. Any but Blue Lock.

Every character, every match, every score.

Just 10/10 because there are not a lot mangas where the hype is in the 95% of chapters.

The talents and abilities of every player is very interesting and the way the main character grow in the field makes me want to read more and more.

The drawing is very catchy.

Y'all, this **** SLAPS. I'm reading a lot of ongoings at the moment, and out of all of them, Blue Lock is by far the most hype. It's also the only one where I tend to let a few chapters build up so I can read them all at once instead of every couple weeks.

I don't read many sports manga but I used to love sports anime, and this manga gets me even more pumped than Haikyuu. The plot is a little, well, interesting. It's not your typical sports manga since the plot is the antithesis to your generic shounen. I've always loved Kaneshiro ...

Blue Lock is a great or maybe the best example out there to what soccer strikers should aim for and what they should actually believe in or do . The story follows a simple yet a really unique route and it's balanced with the characters and the atmosphere the manga gives which is a part of it's enjoyable features .

Most of the characters in Blue Lock are surprisingly quirky , there aren't many characters who're cliched or that we're used to seeing them , every character has it's own unique feature and yes you can guess the surface of the character but never the inner ...
