I gave this manga a rating of "good" only because the concept was interesting. Other than that, I would say its just "fine." Something to read when you're bored and feel like reading something for the sake of just reading something.

The concept of the whole story is pretty interesting. A young girl is manipulated into making a deal with the devil to get her crush to notice her...that is how it all begins. Now I would like to say where the rest of the story goes, but I think there was an element of surprise in how things progressed so I will refrain. However, ... I like how layers and layers were added to the original plot. That is what made the story interesting. It has quite a few biblical references and creates conflict between the concept of evil and good in a romantic way.

With that being said, this story lacks a lot. Firstly, there is not much depth at all. The dialogue between the characters is quite cheesy and as some others said, comical. The characters lack the complexity that a story like this would require to make it epic. It is all pretty basic and bland, so don't expect much. It sucks to say that because again, I really think the concept was the best part, but it lost the potential to be awesome because of how basic and quick everything was.

The art style really is not bad, I don't think there was much issue with this. It was easy to follow along, and the panel was done properly.

The characters, you have one bad guy, one good guy, one naive girl and a crow. There is not much else to say, nothing too major with these characters because they do follow their typical roles.

Like I said, this story had major potential but it wasn't executed that well, with that being said, it was not horrible.

What do you get when you mix together a considerable amount of smut, sexy demons and angels, and a hormonal teenage virgin? You get 'Akuma na Eros' (ANE), a cautionary tale of why desperate, love-obsessed teenage girls should not have access to demon-summoning materials.

Mayu Shinjo's works can be summed up in two words: "schoolgirl smut", and all follow roughly the same script: the teen FMC meets a hot guy who is attracted to her (most of the time literally) virginal naivete, with their "love story" consisting of the guy basically assaulting her as often as he can until she ultimately gives in and they have ... sex (more often than they already were). This time, the story has a supernatural twist, as Miu makes a pact with Satan himself to get Shion-senpai to notice her. Naturally, the whole point of the manga is the love triangle between Miu, Satan, and Shion, and it's pretty obvious from the start how it's going to go.

Miu is another instance of the "pure, naive-to-the-point-of-stupidity shoujo heroine" stereotype, that Shinjo is probably contractually obligated to include. Satan stays the same throughout the entire manga, with a sleazy, confident macho grin plastered on 99% of the time. Shion is the nice guy who ends up forgettably bland in comparison, even with the obligatory (and predictable) twist. There isn't really any progress to them, unless you count Miu giving in to Satan's seduction as "development".

The art is honestly pretty good. While you can only tell all of Shinjo's characters apart from each other by their hairstyles, everyone looks fine for a smutty shoujo story, although the necks of the male characters made me go "hmmm" occasionally, and Shinjo can only draw angry squints on her hot guys.

ANE works as a decent introduction to Shinjo, and is one of her best works. She doesn't try to stretch the plot too far, like in 'Haou Airen', you get astronomical amounts of smut and cheese, and even a flimsy religious flavor that serves as an excuse to draw smutty scenes between a boring, love-obsessed high school girl and the Devil.

If you haven't read anything else by Shinjo, the recycling of plots and characters won't be as bothersome. You really can't take it seriously, with all the clichés of the brainless smutty shoujo genre that it throws at you. What can I say — it's the only Shinjo manga I tolerate.

This manga is a completly nonsense and I don't even know what to say.
The story is super silly, but that's not the porblem. The problem comes when the story is try to make itself something serious. You have these stupid character who fall in love for each other for no reason, for example you have a character who fall in love with the protagonist and it doesnt add absolutly nothing to the story.
Honestly this was fun at the beginning when Satan can't complete a spell because the other guy is cristian and all that, but when I was reading the second volume I ... was thinking "what the f*** am I reading???
The art is not bad and honestly I could enjoy this kind of manga if the manga is horny or something, but the "sex premise" on this manga is force the girl to have sex. And the sex scene are not too great... and there are a lot of them.
If you want to read something "horny" there are manga way more fun than this one, when i was a little girl I wanted to read this. I am so dissapointed that I think this is the worst manga I have ever read.
